I honestly think people are overreacting a bit by saying how it's such a huge waste to put him on ECW. The brand split hasn't truly meant anything since 2007 when they stopped running the single brand PPVs. The move to ECW is probably to get him back into the swing of things as far as the traveling and to work off any ring rust from his time off. And there's no reason why he couldn't work a month long program with Swagger and then go to RAW or SD.

Re: Flair/Luger/Sting. This is the only scenario I can see playing out: Luger wins the title at WrestleWar. Luger retains over Flair in the cage at Capitol Combat. Flair challenges Luger at Clash 11 but Sting makes his return and costs Flair the title. Sting/Flair still wrestle at the GAB, but who does Luger wrestle? Sid? Windham? I'm lost for a good opponent for him. Halloween Havoc can be used for the War Games: The Four Horsemen vs. Luger/Sting/Pillman/Zenk (Steiners were feuding with the Nasty Boys at this time). I'd actually give the Horsemen the win after some sort of mis communication between Sting and Luger, which leads to . . . . Luger turns heel on Sting at Clash 13. Sting wins the title from Luger at Starrcade. Instead of jumping right into Flair/Sting in '91, WCW could have brought back Muta for a spell to work a program with Sting over the title.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
MikeCampbell replied to Bix's topic in Megathread archive
He's said several times before that it was Orndorff turning on Hogan that turned him into a huge fan, which was 2 or 3 months after Wrestlemania 2. He can't even keep his own memories straight, and people are supposed to trust him as an authority? -
No, you're not the only one, Bob. I figured he'd have been released a good three or four years ago. Has he had any role on WWE TV, other than occasional jobber, since he was Bischoff's Chief of Staff in 2003?

TNA will continue to make asinine decisions both in the booking of their shows, and on the business end in regards to who they sign.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread

Not trying to dig up the argument again or anything, but I came across an episode of WOL with Tony as a guest on it, and this was actually brought up. Tony's take on it was that he'd been talked to by other wrestlers and promoters before and told to get on the gas (while not being blatantly to get on the gas), and that he didn't get that vibe from JR at all. -
It's actually not a bad film, it's a mindless waste of a couple hours. I haven't seen it in over ten years, but I did enjoy it as a child. Now, as an adult, I can understand the underlying message of the film, that being the nice guy wrestler going against the evil TV Station owner, aka Vince McMahon vs. Ted Turner.

I don't recall that particular scene in the movie, but no, Hansen definitely was involved in some of the wrestling scenes.

I've been wondering if you were going to be recapping the issue with that quote and be mentioning it. Since it more or less kick started Mick's career.

I agree, start with '89

The Hot Poker Up The Ass rating system?

I seem to recall hearing something about Nidia and Noble getting de-pushed at one time because of some heat between Steph and Nidia, didn't one of them call the other fat?
-
I'm bumping this since it was recently announced that Dibiase's removal from TV is due to him doing a WWE films project (The Marine 2) which puts him in some pretty good company (Austin, Cena, and Kane). I thought it was weird when he was the one who got the battle royal screwjob treatment, since that's typically designed for babyfaces and he's a heel, but then Orton pretty much punted him into a face turn when he comes back (unless they go the Joey Mercury route and just reunite them in six months with no explanation).

Honestly, as much as I hate the role that she's in, I just feel thankful for Vicky that the WWE found a role for her, to help her continue to support her kids and family now that her husband is gone. That said, I find this whole storyline of the evil GM/Commissioner/whatever beyond played out. I'm longing for the days of Jack Tunney, when he just showed up once in a blue moon to make a big announcement. I'm personally hoping that the RAW GM winds up being Steamboat or Anderson, and then they're just kept off TV unless they need to make some kind of big announcement.

This is something that I've been wondering about lately. Who exactly is the best wrestler in the world? The easy answer seems to be Danielson, but is that really the case, or is it just people buying into his hype? A couple of years ago, I'd have said KENTA. But then the best match of his that I'd ever seen, vs. SUWA from 9/18/05, wound up being all SUWA. So I'm stumped, who is it?

Ryan Beyers Review of the book confirms what we all know. I somehow doubt that Skeith will be plugging that in his blog. -
Pretty funny for Pearce. He goes from being wished well in future endeavors due to cost cutting, to being the new booker.
-
He's referring to Cary Silken and Bushwacker Luke.

http://rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=1999 I was scouring the web looking for the ECWA Super 8 results (my best friend worked the show), saw this posted on DOI, and figured it was the usual DOI bullshit, until they posted the link to the story.

Here's the listing for Edge's DVD. A lot of Edge's best stuff was sadly left off, due to the involvement of Benoit.

Totally agreed, Keith. But that mentality was also the norm in those days. Raven put it best in one of his shoots. In the '80's it was all about being a tough guy bad ass. Then the pendalum swung the other way and there were more tape watchers and athletes getting involved.

He told a great story in his book about Vince offering him a job and him turning it down, and on their way out of the restaraunt, Vince took a shot at him (forgetting the specifics). Ask him if there were any hard feelings over that later on when he eventually did go to the WWF.

What's with the WWE burying the guys on their way out lately? First it was Colin Delany getting killed by Dreamer in that Extreme Rules match. And now Cade gets destroyed by Michaels.
-
Who'd have thought that Cade would get released before Paul London?
