  1. Car racing isn't a sport
  2. Apparently according to a sports site, ALL pro sports was declared essential in the state of Florida. So yeah, AEW could run shows, I guess. edit: Obviously the FL pro sports teams would wait til their leagues resume operations first before they do anything. So only the independent groups like wrestling companies are in position to take advantage of this.
  3. AEW should try running shows and see what DeSantis says about that. If they get shut down, then the shady nature of this decision would stick out even more. And if they don't, well then AEW can get going as well. Not that I am encouraging them to run shows during the pandemic, but it would definitely force someone's hand here.
  4. That is true for any form of entertainment. The more talents you showcase, the wider your fanbase will be, because more people would be able to latch on to their favorites and follow their stories. An one man show would be nearly impossible to get a good sized following unless that one person is an once in a lifetime talent. And even then, you still need more than that. Look at Hogan and Austin. They were the undisputed top dogs of their time, but you still had a lot going on elsewhere on the cards like Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior, the tag teams, etc for Hogan and DX, Foley, The Rock etc for Austin.
  5. Well after Roman Reigns was assaulted backstage and we endured a whodunnit storyline out of it, this man took it upon himself to never let that happen again, maybe?
  6. Well unless something really tragic happens out of this decision to do all of this. Then there is no hiding from any of it.
  7. According to wiki, Vince was already getting involved in reviving the XFL by December 2017. Ebersol approached him about selling in December of 2018. Why would Vince sell if he intended to get it back up and running? Because the price tag is pretty? Sorry guys, you're probably somewhat right about all of it, I just don't agree he did anything wrong here.
  8. Alpha Entertainment owned the trademark as of December 2019. Vince turned his personal stocks in WWE into cash for the league. So who is he not being responsible to? Is he required to sell to an outsider just because they made an offer? I could see that argument if Vince refused to sell the WWE to Disney for a trillion dollars and he turned around and sold the WWE to Alpha for 5 cents, because the WWE is publicly traded. XFL isn't.
  9. I'm not seeing the problem here. The XFL was a privately owned entity. There were no other shareholders beyond the WWE and Vince personally. Now I guess one could argue that he has a responsibility to the WWE stockholders but what would they be objecting to if Vince is giving himself the trademark for free? It's not their investment. I will admit I am not in the know here, so please correct me if I'm wrong here.
  10. Yeah, I mean if they are really worried about their UK talents not being available in time, then why aren't they more concerned about the tag titles? Or is Pete Dunne in Orlando/Tampa?
  11. I am not sure Vince would do that to Bryan. He seems to have his total respect.
  12. No he was intentionally burying them, but again, that is only because of the contract stuff. I think they would have received better stuff if Vince hadn't mandated they look bad as punishment.
  13. At that point when they were doing those antics, Vince decided to bury them for not re-signing. I don't think that booking is exactly reflective of how they'd be used if... y'know, they signed a new contract. That said, fuck the WWE. Go fly your freak flag wherever you want, Wheeler and Harwood.
  14. I think Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood is as 80s as it gets. Corny (the adjective, not the manager) and gaudy, it sounds like two dudes from somewhere in the South running a child prostitution ring somewhere. It's sleazy.
  15. I will let Triple H answer this: "I think [postponing or canceling] was obviously considered but we feel like it's an obligation for us. Our fans have been there for us for years and years and years and we want to be there for them in this time where everybody is just doing the best to get through this, stuck home and the world needs entertainment right now. We feel an obligation to give them that. Whether it's exactly what we would like it to be or they would like it to be, it probably won't be, but it will be a version of that. We will make it the spectacle that it needs to be and that we can to the best of our ability and we'll give the fans something to be entertained by. Sometimes people get very caught up in what we do, the arguments of what's happening and why and should've done this or that, but at the end of the day if you don't take it too seriously and you enjoy WWE for what it is, an entertainment source that hopefully we can do what the intent is is putting a smile on your face. If you can forget all that and put it aside and just sit in front of your set and just be entertained by what we do, then we've succeeded"
  16. Because they aren't Anderson and Gibson? Arn Anderson is in AEW. Robert Gibson also made appearances in AEW. It'd be dumb to have a well known team like The Revival come in using names of other people in the company. Let them stand on their own.
  17. And the fact they are still doing business together would indicate whatever quirks Vince might have is something they can manage. I think Vince is probably at his best in that sort of environment. Just look at the TV deals he managed to land in recent years. The only dude I'd be willing to say is on par with Vince in that area is Eric Bischoff who isn't going to come into power anytime soon.
  18. The Revival would tear their hair out in AEW if they (well one of them) weren't bald. They'll be having weekly talks with their opppnents about how tag team wrestling works. Then imagine the Lucha Bros just ignoring them to get their shit in. Hmm actually, yeah I look forward to all of that.
  19. That's true. I know Vince has tried to portray his daughter as the next leader of the WWE in corporate environment, but I don't think she has the respect of anyone relevant. And that's not gonna change.
  20. There is a major difference between budgeting for loss and getting exactly zero dollars. Once they suspended operations, I knew they weren't coming back, even though they were telling people they were. It is just way too difficult to come back from that. Vince is acting like a guy who is in trouble yes, but I think that once they open the doors to public again, they'll rebound back to normal. All this stuff is just Vince making sure he gets there from here without losing too much. Besides Vince isn't the type to allow any circumstances to change his plans. If he expects the money from USA and FOX, he's gonna do whatever he can to keep those deals intact, regardless of if he was in trouble financially or not. But he is old now, and they are in enough trouble that I don't think they survive his death. I don't see any business savvy wrestling guy/girl around to capably take the mantle from him.
  21. I think Vince would run a scaled down operation if such a scenario was possible, before he sells or anything else. The only way I see the WWE finally crumble is when Vince dies.
  22. ESPN only cancelled because the governor put a lot of pressure on Disney to do so. So if it was up to the networks, I am not sure public safety is at the forefront of their thoughts.
  23. Doubt they would even play along with this idea. They're not gonna want a bunch of dead wrestlers on their watch.
  24. So they're putting the show back on the road? To where? Who's gonna open the doors for them? With no fans involved? Yeah great idea. edit: Nevermind. I guess they would just do the shows from the PC live...
