IMO Backlund was a bigger "star" than Dory because Bob was the main guy in the biggest markets for 6 years. That's a long run of working on top in New York City, Philly, Boston, DC, & Baltimore and I'm sure if you ask most guys that watched wrestling currently between 35-50 if they knew the names of Backlund or Dory...they would know Backlund. Sure Dory was NWA champ for 4 years and went everywhere but I don't know if his penetration was as strong as Bob.

That ICW stuff though was mainly after him & Roop left. Yeah there is some available but most is from 1982.
-
Regarding Orton.....a lot of people will tell you his stuff from the 70's was his peak. His team with Slater in GCW in 74-75 when they were just young pups is regarded as one of the greatest teams of their era. Plus another issue with Orton is he spent two peak years working for ICW where not a whole lot of that exists on tape.

Mike Johnson is hinting around that there might be a WWE Network launch press conference in Vegas next month. There is a New Media Expo taking place on January 4th so that could be it.

Holy shit Big E & Mark Henry as a tag team is glorious
-
WWC detailed results are extremely hard to find especially post 1982
-
I believe though that the titles probably won't even be on the line but the title of "Face of WWE"
-
Unification tease is interesting
-
BIG JOHNNY!
-
RICK ROSS!!!!!!!!
-
I think Axel is done now but sadly I think Big E may get Miz next
-
Goldust was fucking awesome here and Roman Reigns just got made
-
Dutch twerking was worth the price

If you buy the PPVs I would think its a no brainer
-
Another thing to take into consideration is that if some cable companies or the dishes don't carry the network then would Mania still be PPV available for them. Showtime does that for their boxing matches
-
Dog was a true legend and won't be forgotten RIP
-
I still think it launches Mania night for the post show bonanza

Daga has talent but they have done him no favors in his push. Daga is still very young and green so he has a lot to learn but they pushed him too high for his level of experience. Daga is one of these guys that watched US indies of the last few years and ripped off the style and sadly there are a lot of the younger luchadores going that way. Fenix is very good and has really impressed people with his NOAH work so he is on the rise. AAA as a promotion is hit and miss as they have some really good young talent but some crappy booking and the main events are mostly stale. Hijo del Texano is pretty damn good I agree.

Flair's whole persona was new and fresh at that time as only a handful of wrestlers were like him and plus you bring him into some of the territories that were "old school" in their presentation he stuck out like a sour thumb. Regarding Flair and Race......Race was more methodical in how he worked but the big difference to me was that Flair had a pet hold that the match was built around in the figure-four while Race would use the diving headbutt and piledriver as his pet holds which weren't treated like Flair's figure-four was. Flair also was cool and cocky in the ring while Race had this tough guy persona until he started taking punishment then he was over the top in his bumping and selling at times.
