Kris is joined by Will from Pro Wrestling Only and Pete from the Titans of Wrestling podcast to discuss the legendary career of The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy, Michael “PS” Hayes, & Buddy “Jack” Roberts.) We discuss the beginnings of the group and how they evolved into one of the most legendary acts in wrestling history. Listen to us pontificate on the guys from Badstreet U.S.A. http://placetobenation.com/exile-on-badstreet-1-the-life-times-of-the-fabulous-freebirds/

Rusev & Lana have been shifting the act a lot lately as Rusev is doing way more talking for himself and they are definitely planting the seeds for something down the road but yeah before that happens they will eventually out them as a real life couple.

No Will trolling I wasn't even thinking of Will but that's hilarious. Regarding Flair/Beatles I have no problem with people having them as the GOAT as I can totally see the argument and hell I agree with a lot of it but there are definite criticisms of both that with some people if you bring it up you are deemed pretty much a hater
-
Flair as the GOAT debates are a lot like the Beatles as GOAT debates I've seen where if you bring up any other candidates you are shot down because there is no way anyone could be better.

Totally agree...Bucks vs Kingdom was very solid and the announcing for this was worlds better than the PPV. The Jacobs promo made way more sense considering the news that dropped about him yesterday.

Home video changed the game but not by sales but by rentals....you had to drop $40 for a VHS back then so you could rent it for a couple of bucks and do it that way

1985 Mid-South is the perfect appetizer to 1986

Rolling Stone just tweeted that Larryland is WWE HOF bound http://t.co/yf3oPpwKjK -
I want to say it was the 1st Floyd Patterson vs. Ingemar Johansson fight in 1959.

A perfect example is how WCW totally changed when Hogan came in working his WWF main events style then bringing in his cronies which was a total departure from the Flair era and the Sting era.

That's a pretty wide net there Johnny and one year or two in particular rank at the top.

One of the biggest mistakes Baba made was not pulling the trigger on Akiyama as Triple Crown champ when Akiyama got really hot
-
That was my 2nd choice as well.....it's hard to deny that when JCP & Watts were strong which were 1985-86 they were amazing promotions
-
When push comes to shove though out of the 5 if you absolutely had to pick one which one would it be
-
What your idea of a perfect promotion is what it is....it could be all Death Matches or whatever...it all depends on what you prefer.

All the stuff that Parv brought up in the Old School vs. New School thread had me thinking of subject matter that could get a wide variety of discussion going so this one come to mind. All of us on here have varying degrees of wrestling fandom some of us go back 40 years some go back maybe 5 years but everyone has that one promotion and that one point in time that they go back to and say this is how wrestling is supposed to be so I'm putting it out there to you folks as former ESPN anchor Bill Pidto would say "Whaddya Have" After some hard thinking I think mine would be the evolution of Mid-South Wrestling to Universal Wrestling Federation starting in December 1985 to the end of 1986. Mid-South Wrestling was always a great promotion to watch especially after Bill Dundee took over the book in December 1983 but the time they left Irish McNeill's Boys Club and went to the revolving door of Tulsa/Oklahoma City for TV tapings it made the promotion seem major league in every way. The TV presentation was great and the booking was top notch in many ways plus you had guys at the top of their games like DiBiase, Doc, Duggan, Taylor, Freebirds, One Man Gang, Gilbert, Fantastics, Sawyer, Slater, Jake, Murdoch, Sheeps the list goes on and on. The hot angles that would close TV with Jim Ross losing his mind was crazy for the era because while Crockett had that type of TV heat as well their matchups at time where highly lopsided towards more jobber matches while Watts booked names vs. names most of the time. Your turn now.

It's an interesting show to watch for the mixed bag of talent that works there....there is quite the shift once 1985 begins and their deal with Memphis died.

The old man is very loyal to his people

Who is your least favourite person associated with wrestling period?
KrisZ replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling
Yeah just saw you posting around and yeah this place kinda has the feel of the old DVDVR. -
I've said before that Roman Reigns shows all kinds of personality on the radio interviews I've heard but he isn't being scripted there
-
Too much modern product bashing, not enough old school

Yeah Dylan is right here....sometimes the way to get the conversation going in the direction that you want is attempting to start a topic for it and get it going. It might go good it might not who knows. -
I thought it was a good match at best but it is getting way overhyped around the net...the match hindered both men from doing what they do best.
