This was pretty awesome. This is entirely different to what we have usually seen Styles involved in so far. White Trash looks like he belongs in IWA-MS KOTDM tournaments or facing Lowlife Louie in JAPW for the suicidal title. Styles being able to adapt to the hardcore element and making use of the weapons properly was great. I loved how White Trash took forever to dive off the top with the stop sign and AJ blasted him with a spin kick when he finally decided to dive. I also dug how AJ messed up the baseball slide to the outside due to White Trash’s jeans, yet he had the self awareness of hitting him with a low blow to cover up for it. Plus AJ stomping White Trash with the stop sign on his face. Despite being short, this was really good. ***

The match itself was OK, but the post match chaos is what really made this for me. I thought Styles continued looking great as the heel and everyone else on the NWA Elite did well, but the NCW Crew is just sorta bland. As for the post match chaos, if you can generate that much heat in those times, then you were definitely doing something right. While I agree it had an NWO kinda feel to it, still it was great. *** -
This was pretty awesome namely due to Styles and Golden. Styles really shined as a heel here. Fantastic stuff from him on the ring apron with the crowd getting on his nerves. Estrada looked pretty bad on his hope spots and comebacks, but that didn’t look to bad since he was in there with Golden who always found a way to patch that up immediately. The finish was great as Dazz and AJ were exchanging pinfalls before Styles eventually feel to one. Good stuff. ***

[2000-08-19-JAPW-Night of the Main Events] Low Ki vs Homicide

Yeah, this was pretty good. The collar and elbow tie up was indeed intense and it was awesome as its a lost art. Homicide targeting Ki's knee was perfect for this match as Ki's primary offense flows through his kicks. That head kick on the ref. was brutal. I agree, if you're going to do a ref. bump, try and pull one of like that. Fantastic finish to this too with that brutal Cop Killa from Homicide on Ki. Very good stuff. ***1/2 -

I thought this was OK, but nothing special. Their August match was very good, this was a sloppier and Spanky went back to looking flimsy at some points and his execution a lot of time didn't look as crisp as it did in the aforementioned match. Danielson was good working as a heel again however.

This was another solid TV match. Both guys worked really hard and you can really see their improvement from throughout the year here. Danielson working as heel with that ugly TARO like mask and trying to get the fans to chant USA was unique. Danielson's Kudo Driver doesn't look as brutal as Homicide's, but its still a brutal move. There's also this really brutal big boot he tattoos on Spanky's face at one point. Very good stuff. ***1/2

This was an awesome TV match. They really got the best they could out of the time they were given. Danielson bumped like crazy for the much bigger Cade. Danielson also busted out some stuff I've never seen him bust out such a Diamond Dust and an Asai Moonsault. ***

Holy cow, this was awesome. Another excellent Toryumon match and another excellent performance by Stalker. At this point M2K is taking over Crazy MAX as the top heel faction as they just beat them again and Crazy MAX had been taking more of a face turn previously. Did anyone else catch Stalker wearing CIMA's shorts? ***3/4

This was great. Arai is one of the most underrated Toryumon guys and SUWA has already found himself as a heel by this time. Arai was ranked much lower than SUWA, so he wasn't going to be given much of a chance against SUWA and that brings the drama in the finishing stretch. I dug how they ended at the right time and they didn't extend with meaningless false finishes. ****

This was another awesome match. Toryumon continues delivering the fun. I thought the SUWA and Arai exchanges were great. You can also see Crazy MAX changing direction a bit as there's less interference here than there was in the previous Crazy MAX matches. Good stuff. ***1/4
