  1. I don't really think anyone needs to point out this is a work. It's pretty obvious it is...
  2. I dig Twitter and luckily I don't care/follow any of the wrestling Twitter drama and bs, so I have no idea who most of those associated with "Wrestling Twitter" are. I saw some dude mentioned on reddit that body shamed Nia Jax and I had no idea who the dude was and then later found out it was a grown ass neckbeard who reviewed toys on YouTube and I was immediately remembered why I don't follow any of that "Wrestling Twitter."
  3. This was my type of match. Two big dudes just beating each other up. Not really much can be said that hasn't been said already. I can't see any match eclipsing this for my favorite match this year. ****3/4
  4. This was utter chaos. Darby as per usual is the smaller under and Callihan is the stocky bruiser. Darby uses his speed and innovative offense to try and down Callihan and Callihan brutally puts a beating on Darby whenever he catches him. Darby takes a nasty bump on this as he's flung into the balcony of the venue.
  5. Yeah, this was pretty fun. If you dig Darby's matches, then you'll get a kick out of this as it's the Darby vs. bigger dude type of match. Davis beats the heck out of Darby with some stiff strikes while bullying him around -- meanwhile Darby tries to use his speed to out pace and catch Davis with his innovative high risk offense. That backdrop on the stage and the Coffin Drop from the pole were pretty insane spots. I also really dug how they keep the finish simple and didn't seem them go into overboard with the 2.99 kickouts. Good stuff. ***1/2
  6. Fun match. I haven't seen much 205 Live aside from some matches from the Cruiserweight Classic and some matches on the PPV's and on various RAW's, but this is easily the best I've seen from the division. Gulak's performance was fantastic with him bringing the intensity, cutting Nese off with some neat takedowns during the matwork, cutting Nese off with that running dropkick, etc. Nese was alright as the Jr. flying around and bringing the more flashy offense. Not really much to knock on this aside from the silent crowd and some awkward moments such as the face first turnbuckle bomb and the ref. not counting Nese's shoulders down after the first powebomb by Gulak.
  7. https://twitter.com/MLW/status/964518900535787521 Joey Janela vs. Darby Allin in a fans bring the weapons match on March 8. Given the venue, this may not be the best idea...
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5s9Y5H9KoL0
  9. GCW released a promo with Riddle on the Bloodsport card. Riddle said it's going to be in a ropeless ring with some of the toughest wrestlers and MMA fighters... I can see Tom Lawlor and Jeff Cobb being on this card. Also someone mentioned there needs to be an iPPV for the event and GCW responded there will be one on WWN Live.
  10. I went to both, ROH and Pancakes and Piledrivers -- Pro-Wrestling Revolver and Pancakes and Piledrivers was by far a superior show. Not saying it will be the case this year, but don't sleep on their card. Pancakes and Piledrivers was actually my favorite from 'Mania weekend last year and I went to EVOLVE, CHIKARA, ROH and 'Mania.
  11. Simply stating that his opinion is worshiped by them is turning the thread into that? Okay... Also wrong kind of wrestling?
  12. You said it yourself -- "it's very Meltzerian." They treat his opinion as the gospel truth -- if he says a Kenny Omega match is the greatest match of all time, then it is and there's no debating it. I only visit that place for wrestling gifs, random wrestler tweets as I don't follow any on twitter and random cards and news.
  13. There's some handheld footage of some of the untelevised KOTR.
  14. I thought this was average. The majority of it was Hey, let's hit each other hard! for the sake of being stiff. The Keith Lee vs. WALTER 1-1 were way too brief and underwhelming. The counter triangle choke bomb from WALTER onto Williams was really poorly choreographed. Forgettable.
  15. Josh Barnett isn't new to pro-wrestling, he was on New Japan cards many years before Timothy Thatcher had even made his debut... Thatcher also trains Catch Wrestling under him. He also has worked many of Inoki's IGF tours in the past. I really enjoyed this. The grappling exchanges were far better than the majority of the grappling exchanges you'll see in most matches as they are at least somewhat trying to lock in the proper technique on most of their sub attempts. Also there's a constant struggle on the ground and it just doesn't seem like they are allowing each other to freely transition. Barnett's strikes in the corner were fantastic, as was his capture suplex. My biggest knock on this wast Barnett's head kick which barely grazed Thatcher and Thatcher's early body punches which looked really bad. Aside from that, I would also mention that silent crowd was annoying. I don't get the lack of selling comment. There wasn't any extensive work on any particular body part or anything that I really felt required it. They did sell fatigue, but that may be more or so due to them being somewhat gassed. Overall, I thought this was very good. ***
  16. Thought this was pretty underwhelming given the guys involved. They held back a lot and thus made this lack intensity. Everything they threw looked weak and the pull apart brawl was lame.
  17. Allin vs. Callihan - Unbelievable match. Darby is by far one of the craziest wrestlers of all time. He took a piledriver off the top rope through a table, he got tossed off the top rope in a springboard attempt onto the side wall of the second floor which is one of the craziest bumps I've ever seen, he did a trust dive off the top rope with his hands taped behind his back and he got hit with a beer bottle on the back of the head. The next MLW event is named Spring Break... I tweeted there couldn't be an event named Spring Break without Joey Janela on immediately Janela replied he didn't want to speak about it and guess who made an appearance in the main event... Riddle vs. Cobb - Great match. Not a MOTY candidate or anything by any chance, but def. worth watching. Both guys worked real hard and seeing Cobb ragdoll Riddle was quite the visual. Lawlor vs. MVP - Skippable. The highlight of the match was MVP walking out with a black belt that resembled Jose Canseco's black belt when he fought Hong Man Choi in DREAM except Cansesco's said "Canseco" and MVP's said "Puro Resu/Pro Wrestling..." And after the match, Lawlor draped a white belt over MVP which was an awesome visual. Also Team Filthy walkout with corner men who rub Vaseline on their guys faces as if they were getting ready for an MMA fight which is an awesome detail. Strickland vs. King - This was fun. Brody almost broke Strickland's neck in a gruesome corner slam spot. Seems like it pissed Strickland off and he whacked him with some gross chops to the throat. Havoc vs. MJF - MJF was great here even though the match wasn't that great. He trash talked through the entire thing and it was fantastic. He also flipped me off twice before he even made an entrance as he did last show too -- getting dat heel heat... Aries vs. ACH - Fun Jr.'s match. Aries came out carrying all of 4 of those titles he's won and has been carrying around recently. Aries said MLW he was left out of the title tournament, but there's a middleweight tournament coming up and he was already requesting a spot in it and that he wanted to prove you don't have to be a heavyweight to be in the main event. Chelsea vs. Priscilla - Wasn't much and just used to continue the feud between Priscilla and Santana Garrett. Ki vs. Brazil - Squash match. Ki brutalized Brazil and unmasked him. Gotch and Petruzelli vs. Yuta and Cade - Gotch and Petruzelli came out with Team Filthy. It seems like Gotch, Petruzelli and Lawlor will be forming a faction. Wasn't a fan of this match as I'm not a fan of Gotch, Yuta or Cade and Petruzelli is way to green. The highlight was the Dirty Blondes managed by Col. Robert Parker making attacking Yuta and Cade. Destino Negro vs. Mega Danger - A very toned down version of last months match between Penta 0M and Rey Fénix, so it was fun. I'm hoping they continue to bring in these lucha guys to have these exhibitions as they're fun live. Parrow and Hughes vs. Al Sabah and Ortagun - Barrington was revealed as Parrow's tag partner and once he came out it ended. I honestly felt I got my money's worth. Easily worth the $5 the stream cost. I'm def. ordering the stream once they upload it as I want to see what Darby vs. Sami comes across as on video.
  18. Just did some research, Josh Barnett posted on Sherdog that Thatcher is a student of his who has had the opportunity of training with Billy Robinson and Wade Schalles. That's an awesome crew of trainers. I also saw an EVOLVE mini documentary on Thatcher and he says his influences are William Regal, Fit Finlay, Billy Robinson and Yuki Ishikawa.
  19. Talk about it here.
  20. Timothy Thatcher has done some catch wrestling seminars in Germany for wXw. Anyone know who he trained under/trains with? Considering he's from California, I'm guessing he trained at Erik Paulson's CSW Association gym with Josh Barnett? Or did he train overseas?
  21. Jim Smallman from PROGRESS has also had his hand in NXT or at least has been spotted backstage with HHH and Gabe, so he may have his hand in it too. The UK indy scene has been booming. PROGRESS in my opinion is the top organization there. They also have strong ties with WWE for the reason I mentioned previously and the WWE UK title defenses there. Depending on my mood, I'll watch a show from an organization, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what EVOLVE's 2018 looks like. They already got off to get a start with the Ringkampf vs. Catch Point and ZSJ title defense against Darby from EVOLVE 98 last month.
  22. This was great. I like Darby a lot, but I am not too high on ZSJ as I feel a lot of his stuff comes off to exhibition-y, however that's not the case here. Darby does a great job working from underneath the majority of the match and using his aerial attack and quicker pacing to try and pull off a flash pin or submission on ZSJ who's built as the superior grappler. ZSJ does a great job at using his grappling based offense and Darby looks like a contortionist getting bent in all type of painful submissions. That's pretty much the tone of the majority of the match. ZSJ strikes usually look terrible, but here he didn't throw that many aside from some pretty neat looking slaps. Darby also punching and slapping his himself to try and fire himself up was a great visual. His fiery comeback was great too. The finishing stretch was neat as they avoided going into overkill and they kept Darby looking like a lunatic as he refused to tap out despite getting his arms all brutally twisted up and having the referee stopping the match instead. Great stuff. ***3/4
  23. Yeah, this was fantastic. The highlight for me were the early grappling exchanges between Thatcher and Garrini. That banana split by Garrini was great. Also the tribute to Frank Shamrock vs. Bas Rutten with them exchanging slaps while in double leglock attempt ws great. I wish this segment of the match would have been longer. WALTER coming as the big bruiser manhandling Williams was also great. The FIP segment was pretty great and those enziguri's from Thatcher along with Williams counter to the bridging pin with the kimura ruled. Very good stuff. ***1/4
  24. Adam Cole: This weekend, I scratched the surface of what I’m capable of here in @WWE...I’ll prove to the world that I am what I say I am...#Undisputed #AdamColeBayBay #NXTTakeover #RoyalRumble Chuck Taylor: hey @ShutUpExcalibur you see this fat piece of shit try to cover up his gut with that silly DDP belly tape? Excalibur: That type of injury only occurs when you've eaten a three tier wedding cake by yourself in one sitting.
