WWE TV 10/10 - 10/16 Bray Wyatt is if Rob Zombie was a box office hit
Johnny Sorrow replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
First time I realized Cole actually knew about wrestling history was those overdubbed shows they had on the old WWE On Demand service. Cole and Foley do the Shea show with Bruno vs Larry and Cole just lets loose with the knowledge. -

Was it the local feed here or did the show end in the middle of Bray talking? -

He was hurt and needed to heal up, and may have had one of those Turner contracts that was still paying off. JR has talked about it. He said he told Rey a job would be waiting for him. -

Not a week after Vince was gone Cole was giddy on TV saying things are going to be different. Cole without Vince in his ear is great. -

That was a really fun show. We had a blast . The only match we didn't care about was Drew vs Kross and it wasn't bad. They whipped the shit out of each other with the strap, at least. Bayley vs Bianca fucking ruled. -
WWE TV 10/03 - 10/09 Being Brazilian is suffering
Johnny Sorrow replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I can't stand Kevin Patrick on the pre show panels and as a backstage interviewer. I can't imagine that he's somehow going to be a good announcer. Everything is in flux as HHH takes over and Pat McAfee is off doing football. -

GUNTHER vs Sheamus FUCKED. VIOLENCE!!! -
Oh, Andrade is an asshole here, despite the fact that he should be allowed to quit and go to WWE if he's an " Independent Contractor". Everything else you said is spot on. They aren't mutually exclusive. Khan letting guys work elsewhere as well isn't some revolutionary thing. WWF wrestlers used to be able to take Japan and Indy dates while McMahon was in charge and was the same rich piece of shit he was when he wouldn't let them. Letting workers do outside gigs is paltry shit. Give them health care. Make them employees. Shit, letting folks take outside dates also gives Khan credence to actually claim they're independent contractors. It's not as altruistic as it seems. Point being, fuck the rich. There are no good billionaires, even if they make a wrestling show you like and probably bought DVD sets from Goodhelmet Will.

Look, I'm not defending punching someone to get fired so you can go to where you really want to work. Wait, since that's the most wrestling sentence I've ever typed, I change my mind. I love that Andrade looked at the Punk/ Elite fiasco and said, "Hmmmm. Ok. I guess that's how HR works here? Twitter and and backstage fights? No problem." But if this isn't some work shoot bullshit, why can't Andrade just be able to go work where he wants in the same company as his wife and old boss who was behind him? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the wrestlers in AEW "Independent Contractors"? If we're going to, rightfully, criticize it when WWE makes guys sit out "contracts" when they just want to go work somewhere else, then it's just as fucked up if someone in AEW wants out of their "contract" and can't go work where they want to. I can picture Andrade bitching to Charlotte, "Jose The Assistant. Seriously, that's the name they came up with. I gotta get outta there." Oh and Jose doing the inside baseball "contract tampering" line with Private Party was embarrassingly bad. I'd imagine HHH didn't have to "reach out" to Andrade and risk any legal issues. He could just" talk" to Charlotte, right? Oh and that MJF/ Yuta match started great, then there was that TERRIBLE "Trading Roll ups for too long and shit that looks phony as fuck", then it got back on track, sorta. Darby/ Lethal did the same bit, did it better and more realistic, and it led to the finish. This was awful fake looking tumbling act bullshit that admittedly, the crowd popped for. Regal with the knucks was awesome, but why was MJF acting like he had to do what Stokely was demanding? I assumed "The Firm" worked for MJF. Oh, and Prince Nana on National TV finally is one of my personal delights. I've loved Nana since I first saw him in ROH back in 2004. I even had an Embassy T Shirt. And I got to know him a bit, and he's a great guy. And "WardJoe" is a stupid fucking name. It's just as bad as all the WWE attempts to try and follow "JeriShow". "RKBro" got over huge, to be fair, but JeriShow is the one they all chase.

Maybe they should run some shows in smaller places in different markets. We went to the Dynamite in Broomfield, CO a few weeks before the Covid shutdown and while it wasn't sold out, the crowd was on FIRE. Denver WWE Shows over the past year have shown that we're hot for the Wrestling.

Latest episode of " Crime In Sports" is on Jeff Hardy. It's really funny. -
Who cares? Buddy is fucking awesome. Why can't a dark devil worshiping guy be "Buddy"? That's his name. The church of Satan accepts Buddys.

It's also wild for me, to see this bullshit from dudes who posted at a message board when I did, be a " story"? It's wild that one of them turned out to be a billionaire's kid, one turned an obsession with sleaze into being a legit investigative journalist who broke the Pat Patterson story about the government trying to deport him, and one is rovert. Life is a fucking highway.

WWE TV 09/19 - 09/25 It seems Survivor Series did not Survive
Johnny Sorrow replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I don't know if it's a rumor, but I've been predicting that Sami the master strategist has been working his way into the Bloodline all these months to eventually have him and KO win the belts. Or something similar, and I can't totally call it. And I'm normally Nostradamus figuring out WWE stories. And I'm loving see it play out. Sami and the Bloodline is my favorite and the best long term story in wrestling right now. He and Owens KILLING IT at Mania has propelled Sami into the main event and has reestablished Owens after a cool down comedy feud. The two kids from Canada I saw at the Rahway Community Center at a JAPW show in 2005 are now at the top level of WWE. It's so cool . -
Watching Dynamite now, MJF holding the giant poker chip looks fucking stupid and low rent. The MITB briefcase might be silly, but at least people actually carry around briefcases. And " RC, the robot camera" on the turnbuckle needs to gain sentience and turn heel.

WWE TV 09/12 - 09/18 Kvaratskhelia is a future Balon d'Or winner
Johnny Sorrow replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Of course, I'd be remiss to not mention that the kids here LOVE Drew and his sword. They're gonna love watching him fight this new weird guy with the hourglass. -
And I love the WWE open stadium shows that they do when the sun is still out. It looks more important and special to me.

My second ROH show was the " tent show" in 2004. It was supposed to be in the National Guard building but Bush. Instead I was in the second row and got to see the debut of Generation Next, Punk drop a ring bell on Steamboat after a tag match that went into the field behind the building, and Joe beat Homicide in the main event. At the time online weirdo fans at DoI were shitting on it, but it was incredible.

This run is the first time I've seen Kross and I don't care about him at all. But as much as I like a lot of Drew matches, I just don't care about Drew either. It's perfect fast forward material for me. -

I think HHH booked Reigns vs. Paul as a favor to most of us posting here. A main event we wouldn't want to watch anyway. -

Boomers is the wrong generation. You're thinking of Gen X. My generation. -
Hager is perfect as Jericho's thug who doesn't talk. And Nese has been great in AEW. He's the perfect lower mid card heel.

He also looks like he's aged 20 years in two months.
