Since we have three weeks until the PPV, I'd imagine the chaos between the teams is coming up. Right now it's dueling promos. And I'm loving these promos. Ambrose's bit reminded me of that great Diesel promo when he was fueding with Taker, "I AIN'T AFRAID OF THE DARK!"
Because they were playing a script based on Internet memes. "Evil HHH and his old lady holding down a guy who's the best wrestler but doesn't have the look". Find me ONE fan who has ever said that HHH 's promos actually influenced how they think and I'll eat my hat.
I think this is the best possible explanation of what I've been trying to say about promos. Thank you.
Yeah, but who sat there and said "you know, I really like Danial Bryan, but what asshole HHH said makes me think otherwise"?
By HHH and Steph. Who watched those and said " I can't get behind Bryan because the two people everyone hates are insulting him." They were doing "evil Internet perception of us "
An aside, but the term "top guy" seems to have two different definitions between smart fans and guys in the business . On Austin's show with Bryan they went on for awhile about what life was like for Bryan now that he's a top guy.
Johnny and I argue about this stuff in everyday conversation. This isn't a heel turn.
I was also heroically drunk and stoned. So much so that later that night I had a come to Jesus meeting with one of my room mates about some shit that'd been bothering me for 6 months.
No way, man. You KNOW Andy would have loved it.
He would have loved it. Still who ever said Kaufman had good taste.
Andy never really did anything "tasteless." Granted, I don't think anything is tasteless as long as it's funny.
COMING SOON to the Titans Of Wrestling Podcast: "BAD TASTE. The Great Debate".
Lots of average wrestlers made it in the territories or had decent careers. I guess the question would be could he have made it as far?
I personally think Gibson on his own would have been at jobber level once the territory days were over about the same level as Randy Rose. Also I love how W2BTD lists a pile of pretty good workers as average and it's my naming Gibson that gets attention. Is it just that I'm more fun to argue with?
Nah, you're just wrong.
Do you think he would have made it without Ricky?
Now think about it the other way around. Would Ricky have made it?
There's nothing about Gibson that suggests to me that he's anything above average.
Gibson was great before Ricky with his brother. And no, I don't think Morton would be as fondly remembered without Robert. They were perfect together. And just because Ricky was one of the best of all time doesn't make Robert "average"
Perry was super popular everywhere at the time. They got him right at the peak of his 15 minutes. That being said, no celebrity was more huge in a Mania than Mr T until Tyson. And for my generation T was HUGE.
