  1. I was gonna bring up Bobby Riggs vs. Billie Jean King, but King was the best female player in the world and Riggs was pretty much a journeyman.
  2. Why? You are kidding right? There isn't a woman athlete alive who can compete on an even level with male athletes in the same sport, especially in something like a combat sport. Cyborg would get smashed by every single male fighter in her weight class at any level. Forget about UFC or Strikeforce, I imagine she would get smacked by guys working outlaw shows in Kentucky. Combat sports for sure, but what about, say, tennis?
  3. I look at it this way. It's way easier and more fun to say "it's the booking" because that's something we can argue/ discuss. When you factor in the realities of cost in a shitty economy..that's not stuff that's at all fun to talk about. I just don't see a parent telling their 12 year-old that Wrestling PPV's have to go bye bye for now because "the booking isn't good." I'm in no way saying that there isn't a portion of fans who don't pay for shows because they think the shows aren't worth it because of booking, but to be honest, it seems most of them either find those streams and twitter furiously about how "bad" everything is.. or don't even watch anymore, for a variety of reasons..the most popular one being "I grew out of it", but are still compelled to share their opinion on what they didn't see.
  4. I wouldn't really describe 1999 WWF as kid-unfriendly. It had breasts and lots of swearing. Kids want to see that kind of stuff. I feel like Vince Russo's sense of humor would appeal more to kids than it would to adults.1999 WWF was more parent-unfriendly than kid-unfriendly, and I don't know how many parents barred their kids from watching. It was appealing to young teenagers and young immature adults, but I don't think an 8 years old would get a kick out of saying "suck it" while pointing to his crotch, . Well, while it may seem awful, during the last boom all the kids in my neighborhood were crotch chopping and yelling "Suck it" at each other while playing football and what all. It does when the economy is in the shitter. And they were too expensive before the 5 dollar increase, imo.
  5. And as far as PPV numbers go, I still say a big part of them being down is because they cost too much. I pay it each month cause it's my "gift" to myself. But nearly 50 bucks a month is just too much in this economy for a lot of people I'd imagine.
  6. My Co Host Bryan put this together. It's a "comp" of Will saying "fuck" during the last show. I think he gave up halfway through the interview though. I hope he teaches like this.
  7. I just watched a bunch of Tajiri/ Guido stuff on the ECW set and I was thinking the same thing. Everyone remembers and goes on about the Super Crazy matches but the Guido ones , at least to me, are far more awesome and fun.
  8. AND the show "David Otunga Approved" w/ Will is archived and ready for dl or listening at http://www.tnt-radio.net/archive/230-david-otunga-approved/ The first five minutes are awful ads. The next hour is two guys, tired, unprepared and with no timing go over SmackDown! Will joins the show at the 1 hour point and it then gets much better.
  9. Just a reminder we'll be going on the air live at 11pm EST TONIGHT!

  12. I posted this in the shills folder, but I figured I'd share it here. Me and my pal Bryan are doing our own Radio Show/ Podcast. We're having a blast being completely ridiculous and talking SMACKDOWN! and various wrestling topics every Friday night at 11pm EST. Anyway, THIS Friday we'll be joined by our own Goodhelmet Will in our second hour to talk all things Dusty Rhodes. Have a few drinks and tune in. Oh, here's our site with an archive of the shows we've done so far. http://tntradio.elementfx.com/wam/
  13. Aw man, that's gotta be terrible to be going through.
  14. It bothers people because it's a second gen member of the Hart family, who worked and trained for years to be a serious female wrestler. If they gave the gimmick to one of the untrained models it would still be dumb, but nobody would really care. LOL so it's ok to demean women who are shitty wrestlers, just not ones that are good wrestlers? No, that's not at all the point I was trying to make I don't think the gimmick is particularly demeaning or offensive to women in general. It's stupid and pointless, but tons of men get stuck with stupid and pointless gimmicks and I don't think that the male sex is demeaned by it. I think it's offensive because it's a waste of a good female talent when there are so few of them in the company. If you have to have a farting gimmick give it to any one of the girls with no training who were hired because they're telegenic. It's offensive to me, as a wrestling fan, because it's stupid and pointless and a waste of talent. I don't care if they have a dozen farting divas if they don't have anything better to do. Nattie has more to offer. Is that clear enough? The fact that it's a Hart Family member who has the gimmick surely is the reason some folks hate it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr70qzN2mR8 (Shameless plug)

  16. I'd throw in how awesome Tajiri was in all those backstage skits with Regal as part of the overall package.
  17. Actually, even in he most expensive of nursing homes most of the rooms are two person.
  18. It's even better if you read SLL's bits in Frasier Crane's flustered voice.
  19. Cena basically reverted back to his early gangsta days and tore into Eve for being a tramp, leaving her crying and leaving WWE looking more misogynist than ever, if you can imagine that. "Good guy tears apart Jezebel" isn't misogynist. It's a staple in all Soap Operas. Let's not all become a bunch of Donahues, here.
  20. So, out of curiosity, what was the deal with Cook always going on about Foley being Satan and Foley's wife being Lady MacBeth?
  21. On another forum he was outed as having asked a girl out through a PM and it embarrassed him enough to disappear. Which I find strange since he proudly had cyber sex with two dudes online under false pretenses. Cook disappeared after being outed as hetero? That's new. So I'm confused about this. Considering the number of people who hook up online these days, that's not exactly embarrassing. There even is the Christian equiv of Match.com now. Or are the two sentences related? John Well the cyber sex was not recreational. He thought he was pulling a prank. But it was like that South Park where Cartman put his dick in Butters mouth. Did he blame Mick Foley?
  22. It's WrestleMania time. Get ready for Lagana, Bauer, etc, etc, to be all over net radio/ podcasts explaining how smart they were and how great their ideas were, and again going on about Vince and Stephanie's quirks.
  23. It was "WE ALL HATE YOU!" On paper everything about the Kane/ Cena angle works for me. Evil Bad guy does evil things to get good guy to snap, including fucking up his protege to the point where the protege eventually hates the good guy, add in a chick..etc..etc. But the execution has just been bad, besides Kane who's so good at making shitty stuff work.
  24. I thought up a guy like that once. I imagined him with a manager who was the mouth and he'd come out to "Dirty Deeds" by AC/DC.
  25. They made up before he died, though.
