  1. There was nothing about it that was "I'm shooting now". It's storyline stuff re: Punk's character and Jericho being a douchebag. It may not have worked for you and the people at your place watching but it worked for me and the people watching at my place, man.
  2. No, he's not done those.
  3. As a worker, not at all. He's way better. But he has that unspoken charisma that Warrior and Sid had. I don't give a shit about Brock's "real life credentials". I'm jacked because Brock is Brock Lesnar , Monster Pro Wrestler.
  4. Mania was fucking great.
  5. Maria managed to win while having Aunt Flo from Red Bank show up while wearing white pants. That's great and who cares at the same time.
  6. Maybe it's just because I love everything about him, but I think James Storm is just a total package type guy. He can talk, he can work, people love him as a face and hate him as a heel, and he looks like a bad ass. There aren't enough long haired and bearded Southern dudes in wrestling.
  7. And JYD arrived in the WWF all kinds of muscled up. He just got fat while he was there.
  8. That's just his style. Haters gonna hate. Oh and this:
  9. And, he's the guy who comes out and gives the live crowd the matches they want, generally. We may goof on the whole "Teddy Formula" but it works most of the time. I'm also loving that since they've introduced Johnny Ace as a character, the guy who the crowd is actually excited to see feud with him is Teddy Long. Not HHH..not CM Punk. It's Teddy Long.
  10. I've shared this story before, but screw it. I was at the RAW at the Meadowlands the day after Mania 20. We were sitting right next to the production area near the stage. Before the show, Teddy came out to consult with the crew about something. At the time, he was doing a manager deal on SD where he hated white people and was managing Jazz and Rodney Mack. So, a bunch of kids see him and start yelling for him to come over to sign autographs. Teddy comes over, signs stuff for all the kids, and when he was done and had to leave he says, "Ok, I gotta go. Stay in school, ya little crackers." Me and my pal lost our shit and were laughing for a good five minutes.
  11. Well, he's well liked by everyone as far as I know. And let's face it...he's freaking over in this Teddy/ Ace feud. The crowds are going nuts for him. I'd imagine that Vince and creative were shocked at just how much the crowds are cheering for Teddy and that's why this mid card Mania match is getting so much build-up now.
  12. I remember some terrible Planet of the Apes promotion, that resulted in Chris Jericho having apes throw cream pies in Stephanie McMahon's face. It was a banana cream pie, and while it may have been kinda lame...it led to one of the funniest things ever on WWF TV. Steph, still covered in pie barges into Commissioner Regal's office screaming about Jericho and Regal looks over at Tajiri and says, "Look, a banana tart." edit: Ok, I found it and she's not still covered in pie, Tajiri's not there, and Regal says, "Oh hello. It's my favorite dessert, banana tart." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6DZWE8_pNQ
  13. Like Tom alluded to, when Hogan's matches had him all sweaty and covered in the crimson mask when he did his "hulk-up", it looked awesome.
  14. 1. Dusty didn't have a "loaded" boot. He had a steel reinforced boot to protect his ankle that Flair, Ole, and Arn destroyed. And "loaded" means that a guy has something hidden in his boot that makes it heavier and therefore more hurty. 2. The Warriors facepaint looked awesome. What are you, some kind of pinko commie?
  15. For the most part I loved his stuff with Micheals during their feud. I remember loving both the matches and the angle. I'm a big Jericho fan, as for me it's the total package and the guy entertains me.
  16. Those gals are my "co-workers" of sorts as me and my pal Bryan also do our show at PW247radio.com. And yeah, the Grable show was really good.
  17. There's a reason for this but really, you, of all people, should just listen to the shoot. Now that you mention it, I did listen to that shoot but I don't remember the reason he didn't show up at that time. I know he left in 87 because of his sick Dad.
  18. While not quite what the thread title suggests, I seem to recall some WWF vignettes promoting Billy Jack with him on a horse that ended with "Billy Jack is coming!" around 1983/84 and he never showed up until a few years later.
  19. Which makes no sense considering that Cyndi Lauper was one of the biggest stars in music at the time.
  20. I know. I'm one of the biggest Flair fans going but he was just awful on those shows.
  21. I only saw the clip where DDP is trying to compliment David Arquette regarding the fact that the guy really didn't want to become the champ, that he's a big fan who respects wrestling, and that he donated all the money he made in WCW to the families of dead wrestlers..but JR kept interrupting him.
  22. I've seen all of these shows to date, pretty much the only "current content" the WWE put out that I watch and Dillon is definitely one of the better contributors. On the Canada episode, Pat Patterson seems like he's in a really bad mood about something. I also found the 70s one slightly boring. Bockwinkel in particular came across like he was putting himself over heavily and Hayes was in full suck-up mode. Think Dillon definitely comes out of that one the best. Overall though, Mike Graham is easily my least favourite guy on there. Even Bischoff is better. I really liked the Seventies one myself. The thing that had Patterson flustered during the Canada one was Bret saying that The Stomper was the greatest Canadian wrestler ever.
  23. I've been watching a ton of those WWE Legends Of Wrestling shows on the youtube this past week, and I'm LOVING JJ Dillon on them. He's totally honest and has no agendas. And on a personal level, (as a kid who loved Bruno Sammartino because of the legend and hearing my Mom and Uncle always go on about him)... during the one about the Seventies where it seems like the panel is bashing Bruno..he comes right out and not only defends Bruno as a worker, he points out that the point of the business is drawing money at the box office and Bruno was of course the tops. He then talks about how Bruno taught him when JJ was a ref and breaking in, and how much of a gentleman he is and ends with "I won't sit here and have anything bad to say about Bruno Sammartino." edit: Although, at the end of the show when each guy..Patterson, Bockwinkel, Hayes, Dillon, and Okerlund is asked "Who was the Wrestler Of The Decade" they all say "Bruno" except for Hayes who says "Andre"
  24. Surprised you left out Butch Reed.... Racist. And I think the whole "replace JYD "thing is true, but Watts wasn't going to just put the belt on his "newest" black star. He probably wanted to get a guy over first and it just wasn't happening with Wells, Jack, etc.
  25. I just returned from the bar and I'm about to put on some Mid South/ UWF, starting w/ Jake Roberts vs. Lord Humungous in a cage. Jake is wearing a hockey mask as well and it's AWESOME.
