  1. One of my favourite feuds of all time
  2. I have the Hansen match at 5 stars and the Khan match at 4 1/2. There is the great Strong Koboyashi match. That Harley match that appeared on NWA Classics is pretty awesome too.
  3. Apparently Tanahashi was a slam dunk candidate a few years ago. If he is a slam dunk, then there is still a lot to come.
  4. Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett and Earl Hebner. That is one hell of a hall of fame.
  5. I may be doing the same as Kelly here. I've always wanted to sit down and watch this stuff, but never have.
  6. Sorry for the delay, but just put up a week's worth of house show and TV for Maple Leaf Wrestling as well as the joint Maple Leaf/International Wrestling shows.
  7. Maple Leaf Wrestling presents Wrestling Night in Canada September 11, 1983 at Moncton Coliseum in Moncton, New Brunswick The opening video package of Wrestling Night in Canada opens the show featuring clips of: Greg Valentine, Wahoo McDaniel, Stephen Petipas, Jesse Ventura, Ivan Koloff, Leo Burke, Rocky Johnson and ends with a clip of Rick Martel being awarded the NWA Canadian Title. Billy Red Lyons and Jesse "The Body" Ventura welcome us to the show and immediately go to a video from Maple Leaf Wrestling President Jack Tunney. Jack Tunney is in his office at his desk. He says there is a lot of disgusting acts going on in Maple Leaf Wrestling from the Russians to the Cubans. Maple Leaf Wrestling is a wrestling promotion and feuds will be settled in the ring, not through shenanigans and fireballs. The Cubans have been fined again and he appreciates the quick and respectful paying of their last fine as it came in an envelope to his office. However, Tunney demands this fine to be paid in Canadian dollars this time not in Cuban currency. Throwing a fireball in a security guards face is not appropriate action. Tunney, going forward, has banned fireballs from Maple Leaf Wrestling. If someone else uses fire they will be suspended immediately. It is also apparent that fines are not enough, so at Maple Leaf Gardens on September 27th he has booked the Cuban Assassin and Chicky Starr vs Stephen Petipas & Rocky Johnson in a match where Bobby Bass will be put into a shark cage and suspended above the ring to keep him out of it. The two teams will then compete in a Toronto Death Match. As for Wahoo McDaniel, well he will be making his return on September 27th and has demanded a match against Greg "The Hammer" Valentine one on one. To ensure no Russian inteference there will be Lumberjacks at ringside. Add those two matches to RIck Martel defending the NWA Canadian Title against Riki Choshu and it will be one huge night in Maple Leaf Gardens on September 27th. Commercial #1 Lyons and Ventura react to that huge news. Ventura talks up Choshu again, but also celebrates the Body Shop tonight with a surprise guest. They also hype the main event of Buzz Tyler vs Greg Valentine w/ Ivan Koloff, Alexis Smirnoff & Don Carson all banned from the arena. Commercial #2 1. Killer Karl Krupp vs Leo Burke Krupp was a local star here in the Maritimes so he gets a big heel reaction, but Burke is the local hero and so this match is heated. A fun brawl in which Burke pins Krupp with the leg lariat. Winner - Leo Burke @ 6:20 Commercial #3 2. Little Tokyo vs Chilli Bowl Tokyo gets the big win. Winner - Little Tokyo @ 5:36 Commercial #4 It is now time for The Body Shop with Jesse Ventura who is guarded by Evil Machine. Ventura said his special mystery guest will be here in a second, but before that he wanted to show everybody some footage. We get a video of Dick Murdoch calling out Ventura and his group form backstage at a New Japan Pro-Wrestling show. As he is talking he gets attacked by Ishi-Gunn and their leader Riki Choshu before security breaks it up. Commercial #5 Back from the break and Ventura lets it be known what happens if you mess with him. He talks about Choshu winning the NWA Canadian Title and then turns to his guest. It turns out to be Evil Machine who doesn't talk, but Vetnura praises! We then get a video of the making of Evil Machine which is a factory in Japan with evil Japanese scientists drawing up blue prints. We then get a factory conveyor belt where at the end of it Evil Machine comes out at the end. As the scientists celebrate, Evil Machine knocks them all out and walks away. Commercial #6 3. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine vs Buzz Tyler Tyler fought hard to gain some revenge for what Valentine did to him and his friend Wahoo, but the Hammer was too much. Just as Valentine was about to lock on the figure-four leglock the Super Russian came to ringside and nailed him with a steel chair busting him open. Before security got to the scene, the Super Russian ran away through the crowd. Winner - Greg Valentine via DQ @ 7:06 Commercial #7 We return from break and Lyons and Ventura can not believe what just happened. Look at the blood? Valentine is helped to the back by paramedics. Who is this Super Russian? Next week Ventura vows to have the Super Russian on The Body Shop! Dark Matches: Gino Brito & Tony Parisi def. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Ivan Koloff & Alexis Smirnoff w/ Don Carson vs Leo Burke, Rocky Johnson & "Big" Stephen Petipas Rocky Johnson is wearing a protective mask on his face to cover the burns. The story of the match was the cheating of the Russians and the distractions of Chicky Starr who came to ringside. Valentine gets the win with the figure four leglock on Petipas here. Winners - Greg Valentine, Ivan Koloff & Alexis Smrinoff @ 14:20 6. The Invaders vs. Mad Dog Lefebvre & Gilles Poisson All four bleed in an out of control brawl involving chairs and the ring bell. 10. Thanks, those are nice props. A lot of promotions are starting to feel legit. I love getting house show footage out on Premium Action. It's also nice to give more details on this show, then in the original posts. Reasons to read both threads.
  11. WWE TV thread
  12. The problem is there is no body they are ready to elevate to that level. Would a Rock vs Reigns match work, maybe that is your only option.
  13. Sledgehammer is dumb. Sword is dumb too. Anything that could legit kill someone is dumb to use as a weapon. What about Hogan running over The Rock with a transport truck?
  14. @StevenGrahamTWS
  15. Make a day of fat wrestlers on Tuesday, please! I will watch all day long and chat!
  16. Few quick fixes. Raise age/time in business limit so you aren't voting for people in their prime. Don't give out ballots to people who don't deserve them. I think designating what areas people can vote in is something to look into. Set up some kind of hub for discussion and debate.
  17. Watch the video here. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-election-2015-harper-duffy-questions-1.3194754 Got lots of play here in Canada during the election. Just great stuff. He even uses some Irwin R. Schyster lines.
  18. Yes, it was a spot fest, but it was a spot fest in a different manner. There was time for selling and there was breath between the spots. Every promotion goes into a spot fest mode from time to time, but very few promotions let it take over for too long. At least this type of spot fest was very different and unique.
  19. Doesn't mean there shouldn't be an attempt to fix it.

  21. Best march built around crazy spots I have seen in maybe forever. Top 5 match of the year for me.
  22. I have no doubt that there are some people who take a glance at the ballot, mark a few names, send it back with very little thought, and don't think about it again until the next year. A lot of people probably don't even bother reading the rules or guidelines. I recall a brief conversation I had with Missy Hyatt on twitter where she was totally clueless on the procedure. Most wrestlers & former wrestlers probably fit into this category. There are probably voters who are relatively well informed who simply know exactly who they are voting for because they vote for the same people every year. So for them, they just need to decide on the new candidates, and if they see all of them as no brainers in either direction, I can see returning the ballot quickly. I'd guess that a pretty small percentage of people go through hardcore research/debate, and most of those people are likely the ones posting in places like this. There are major issues with the HOF then.
  23. I think Anarchy Rulz was the time. Lynn was wrestling injured in the opener. RVD had no opponent since Johnny Smith couldn't be there, so Balls filled in. If they ran another Lynn-RVD match there with Lynn winning, it would had been huge.
  24. Reigns coming in first would make everybody think he was going to win.
  25. Why are people handling in ballots after one day?
