Pairing WWF and MLW is silly, because Parv and I will never quit. I think it should be a case by case basis based on when people quit and geography.
-
Toronto and Montreal is 4 hour drive apart. Calgary and Montreal is 36 hour drive apart.
-
I run the TV the day before Halifax plus there is a bunch of local autograph sessions.
-
The fact is not lost on me! I'm excited to see the two promotions coming together to run my humble little town. The Metro Centre is about 5 years old at this point, if you need a higher capacity building to run a super card in Halifax. Keep up the good work! Maybe there will be a big event there in the future! I'm not sure about running in the Maritmes during the winter though.. any thoughts.
-
Plus, it keeps a challenge. No promotion in wrestling has full control. You lose talent, things fall into your lap. That's what makes this a fun game... to me at least.
-
I think when someone leaves we take a little while before merging out the talent. If somebody wants to join the game they go on the waiting list and if someone backs out the first person the waiting list gets the promotion, if nobody is on the list the promotion folds.
-
I kind of like this, since it mimics real life. Maybe even add in that the winner of the war gets to take a couple of pieces of talent and the rest goes into allocation draft. By the way Toronto will go national at some point, so I am ready to incorporate Montreal, Stampede, Vancouver, Portland, WWF and AWA when the time comes. Outside of that... I think that is as large as Maple Leaf Wrestling should get.
-
Awesome! Also remember half of the card is Montreal talent and half is Toronto talent!
-
I'm glad I switched from wanting Montreal to Toronto, you have done a great job keeping the local flavour.
-
Jack Tunney has dictated that every midget match must be awesome and treated with respect! Thanks to the WWA for following that mandate.

Maple Leaf Wrestling TV for July 10th is up. The build up for future shows conitnues. Why is Alexis Smirnoff under a mask calling himself The Super Russian. Why does Jesse Ventura have a masked body guard called "The Masked Samurai"? What is Angelo Mosca doing on The Body Shop? Team Canada is revealed, but who is Team USA? Who will win the NWA Canadian Tag Team Titles tomorrow? Who will win Ivan Koloff or Leo Burke in the main event? It's Wrestling Night in Canada time!

Maple Leaf Wrestling presents Wrestling Night in Canada July 10, 1983 at ATV Studio in Moncton, New Brunswick The opening video package of Wrestling Night in Canada opens the show featuring clips of: Greg Valentine, Wahoo McDaniel, Stephen Petipas, Jesse Ventura, Ivan Koloff, Leo Burke, Rocky Johnson and ends with a clip of Rick Martel being awarded the NWA Canadian Title. Billy Red Lyons, Mike McMann and Jesse Ventura are in the announce booth and welcome us to today's show. They talk about tonight's Leo Burke vs Ivan Koloff main event and they hype the NWA Canadian Tag Team Titles Round Robin Tournament tomorrow night in Halfiax, Nova Scotia. They speculate who will be on Team Canada. The team will be introduced tonight by Jack Tunney. 1. Killer Karl Krupp vs Wahoo McDaniel Wahoo chops the crap out of Krupp on way to an easy win. Mid match Don Carson comes to ringside and Wahoo keeps yelling at Carson asking him where Greg Valentine is tonight? Winner - Wahoo McDaniel @ 6:29 -COMMERCIAL(1)- We return and we see security pulling a bloody Wahoo to the back. The announcers talk about what happened during the break and they show the clip. As Wahoo is celebrating and yelling at Carson, Greg Valentine attacks from behind with a chair. The Hammer bloodies Wahoo and starts to attack his cut only. Wahoo attempts a comeback when Valentine is celebrating, but security hits the ring and separates them only to drag them to the back. The announcers talk about how these two have just been announced to square off at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium on July 18th. What a war this will be. -COMMERCIAL(2)- 2. Super Russian w/ Ivan Koloff vs Nick DeCarlo The announcers speculate about the idnetity of the Super Russian, since Smirnoff is the regular partner of Koloff they assume it's him playing mind gamees. Super Russian gets a quick win with Koloff cheering him on. Does this help boost Koloff going into tonight's main event and the Russians going into the NWA Canadian Tag Team Titles tournament tomorrow night. Winner - Super Russian @ 4:42 -COMMERCIAL(3)- It is now time for "The Body Shop" with Jesse Ventura. After the chaos of last week's Body Shop Jesse "The Body" brings out his new security guard The Masked Samurai to keep guard during the show. Out walks a big Japanese wrestler in a mask and samurai outfit who silently stands behind Jesse. This week's guest is Angelo Mosca! Mosca is in a real bad mood. He was the NWA Canadian Champion and all he does his head to Georgia and they crown a new champion at the Canada Cup. Why was he not invited? Mosca wants Martel to prove who the true champion is and he will show up each week on TV until he gets his title back. -COMMERCIAL(4)- 3. Ben Bassarab vs Joel Deaton The youngster Bassarab and Deaton have a competitive match. Bassarab is able to roll up Deaton for the win as he squeaks by with a win. Deaton looks pissed post match and refuses to shake Bassarab's hand. Winner - Ben Bassarab @ 7:00 -COMMERCIAL(5)- We return from commercial and Jack Tunney is in the ring. One by one he introduces Team Canada who will take on Team USA on July 26th in Maple Leaf Gardens. He first brings out the NWA Canadian Champion Rick Martel, followed by Ben Bassarab, Stephen Petipas, Leo Burke and Rocky Johnson. They stand in the ring united as the Canadian crowd cheers on. Angelo Mosca appears on the ramp and is yelling at Martel, before security ushers him away. -COMMERCIAL(6)- We get a series of promos by each of the three tag teams (Rick Martel/Tony Garea, Leo Burke/Stephen Petipas and Ivan Koloff/Alexis Smirnoff) in the NWA Canadian Tag Team Title Tournament tomorrow night. All three teams are confident, because they have all been former Tag Team champions. We also get a promo from the 5 man Team Canada about July 26th. They want to know who Flair is bringing with them to Maple Leaf Gardens. The announcers talk about the main event and let us know that Bobby Bass, Cuban Assassin and Chicky Star will be on The Body Shop next week and the main event will feature Bret Hart vs Jesse Ventura! -COMMERCIAL(7)- 4. "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff w/ Super Russian vs Leo Burke w/ Stephen Petipas These two battle back and forth for the entire time limit of 15 minutes. A technical match that saw both men at their best. Draw @ 15:00 After the match Smirnoff smacks Petipas from behind and jumps the ring. Super Russian and Koloff beat a beat down on Leo Burke until Rick Martel and Tony Garea rush the ring and chase the Russians off. This leaves Garea/Martel and Burke/Petipas in the ring where they have a stare down as the show goes off the air with the announcers speculating what will happen tomorrow night. Dark Matches: Tony Garea def. Paul Christy @ 6:02 Rick Martel def. Rick Patterson @ 5:01 Greg Valentine def. Stephen Petipas @ 14:41

A game idea, book a lethal lottery battle bowl show with current talent for a wwe network special. -
http://placetobenation.com/pro-wrestling-super-show-53-the-greatest-wrestler-ever/ A breezy almost three hours with Dylan and Will talking the Greatest Wrestler Ever project and going over a large amount of candidates. What is not to enjoy?
-
Can the two guys that Dylan and I share just go to my roster?
-
Toronto can take Portland as part of it's umbrella. It's already sharing two talents. Toronto/Halfiax/Portland.. Maple Leaf Wrestling from coast to coast the best wrestling in the world!
-
Yes, would love to hear what you think of Toronto. Will be posting Toronto's TV week 2 tomorrow.

In the Vince's document on announcers a discussion was made about WrestleMania main event being more important than the title. The question remains, can the title ever be the most important thing in modern wrestling? No company has it that way (even NJPW and ROH). Are fans too cynical or know too much? I still think it can work, although it would take a rebuilding time and some effort.
-
You are not the top guy in the business if you main event WrestleMania. You are the person who won the Royal Rumble. Anyone can win the Royal Rumble and there is a huge pick of luck that goes into it (random entry). If you win the title than you are the best person in the business. Sure, winning the title at Mania is better than at any other show, but main eventing Mania and losing is not better than being the champion. At least it shouldn't be.
-
Shouldn't it be though? Why should just being in a main match be more important than winning the main title? Shouldn't being the top person in the business be more important than getting a shot at that?
-
It's a shame that title is so meaningless that winning it isn't a big deal.
