Flair's podcast (WOOOOONation)
Grimmas replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but why?No sense of humour, genuinely arrogant, generally seems a bit unpleasant. Not a very likable guy imo. Very focused and serious about wrestling is why he was so great at it, so I dig it. Maybe not the greatest podcast guest, but I can't hate on him for it. -

A minute to ponder something's existence means I need time off. Weird comment.

Greatest Wrestler Ever's criteria is left vague for a reason. What does GWE mean to you? The only thing we note is that you are voting based on footage, not on stories and rep.

Best way to retire Vince McMahon
Grimmas replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in Pro Wrestling
Embarassment, right? Doesn't he have to go out with Steve Austin giving him a stunner or something? -
The Pro-Wrestling Super Show did it with current talent last year.

Roderick Strong vs Shinsuke Nakamura 5/16/15 ROH Global Wars This is a great freaking match. Strong ends up taking a lot of the match with Nakamura valiantly fighting back. Strong was pulling off some of his crazy backbreaker moves, including one from the top rope and dropping him on the top turnbuckle. Strong got bloody thanks to some of the knees by Nakamura. The finishing stretch got real hot as Strong had a big kickout before finally going down to Nakamura. He came out looking as a star on the same level as Nakamura, which is impressive. 4 1/2*

I do think it is wise to have a base talent and fill the rest of the card out with locals. Keeps costs down and gives local guys a shot of making the roster.

Just got home from the TV tapings and it was a freaking great show! Looking back at the listed matches the Bullet Club vs Chaos was an insane match. Not as great as the ten man, but above 4 stars. Crazy, crazy spots. Before the match the crowd cheered for each guy individually and they all got their moments to pose. This includes Red Shoes which was a great tribute to him. Nakamura vs Strong was the match of the night. 4 1/4 or higher. Strong took a lot of the match and got a blood lip. Tanahashi & Naito vs ACH & Sydal was another great match and would had been the second best match on night 1. ACH & Sydal have great chemistry and Naito & Tanahashi did an awesome job playing off their regular spots. Another 4 star contest. Dalton Castle vs Liger was freaking great and I hope Dalton becomes a star going forward. I love his whole gimmick and he has amazing character work in ring. The other really good match was Will Ferreria vs Kushida. Kushida is so over in Toronto its nuts. The rest of the matches were building to angles and stuff. Including one where BJ Whitmer is stepping out of matches and putting Colby Corino in them for him and he gets killed. Moose had one of the best squash matches I have ever seen against Colby and War Machine killed him too. This is leading to some future match with Corino and Whitmer that the booking is getting me interested in. The other major thing was Cedric Alexander using a wrench to pin Moose. Next ppv is Lethal vs Briscoe (Title vs Title) Strong vs Elgin vs Moose (#1 Contenders) HIROSHI TANAHASHI & TETSUYA NAITO vs. ACH & MATT SYDAL JUSHIN THUNDER LIGER vs. DALTON CASTLE THE KINGDOM vs. DOC GALLOWS & KARL ANDERSON MICHAEL ELGIN vs. GEDO KUSHIDA vs. WILL FERRARA

There were cards with all the info that said coupon on them (haven't looked enough to see if there is a deal there) on every seat at the show last night.

[Thought experiment] Imagine if the territories stay intact ...

I haven't watched that match since '97 and I remember disappointment at the time. How is it? -

Point is as NWA champ, Bret would need to be that heel. Not 50-50, but 80-20 or lower ratio for offense. That is if he works like Race or Flair. Can you think of any times when Bret allowed his opponents 80% offense? If Bret is NWA Champ it'd be a change of booking philosophy back to Dory Jr. days. Watch Bret vs 1-2-3 Kid from Raw to see what a touring Bret champion would look like. I think that would be an amazing formula to build upon. Go to each town, make the local hero look great but lose in the end. -
It's not that you botch, it's how you do it. I was actually really happy last night at the ROH show where when someone slipped there was no "you fucked up" chants. I think that kind of watching of wrestling (looking for errors, expecting a flawless presentation) is a harmful way to watch wrestling.

https://soundcloud.com/jerryvonkramer/roh-global-wars-2015-reaction-show An exhausted Steven Graham (Pro-Wrestling Super Show), who was there live, is joined by Pete (Titans of Wrestling) to break down the ROH Global Wars 2015 iPPV. How did ROH utilize the NJPW talent? What was up with the Toronto crowd? How great was the ten-man tag main event? All of these questions answered and more! P2BN link to follow.

I see this get liked a lot on facebook and I see it all over youtube with massive views. What is the appeal and what am I missing? I watched one once and half way through I didn't even notice any "botches" or they were well worked around by the wrestlers. I've been confused by this thing for a while and would love some answers.

Sounds like I should rewatch Okada-Cedric to be fair.

That's good to hear. What was it that you liked better the second watch?
