  1. 2015 and early 2016 monthly Wrestler Snapshot (on the Pro-Wrestling Super Show) spot will go to a Greatest Wrestler Ever nominee. Between now and when the vote is due there is 15 months available for doing Wrestler Snapshots. 1 of those is already set to be Mascarita Dorada. That leaves open 14 spots to be looked at. Who do you want the snapshot focused on? Who needs the re-evaluation? Who would you want checked out in this format? I'm turning to you guys for this. This will help me too, as I can look at some folks I may have missed.
  2. Andre was voted a clear lock on this week's Super Show with Dave Musgrave and Tim Livingston. We do a Wrestler Snapshot on him and were blown away by how smart of a worker he was, even with severe health problems. I stated on the podcast that Andre could be top 20 or bottom 20, but he will be on my list. https://soundcloud.com/jerryvonkramer/pwss36 Sorry about sound quality.
  3. I was thinking about this the other day and this is completely what they should do. They should have a three man booking team. Essentially three guys like Triple H does in NXT that run things. Let's say Person A, Person B & Person C. From September till April (post-SummerSlam till WrestleMania): Person A is in charge of Raw/Main Event and the PPVs. Person B is in charge of SD/Superstars and having 1 or 2 matches on the PPVs. Person C is in charge of NXT. Then from April till September (post WrestleMania till SummerSlam) Person B is in charge of Raw/Main Event and the PPVs. Person A or C is in charge of SD/Superstars and having 1 or 2 matches on the PPVs. Person A or C is in charge of NXT. None, I am not saying do a brand split, but give the Smackdown/Superstars booker like 12 exclusive wrestlers and an exclusive title that they can work with would be nice. Keeping some folks off Raw for 6 months would help. SD/Superstars would be the 12 exclusives plus anyone not used on Raw/Main Event that week. What this would do is give bookers a mini break or at least a fresh perspective. You could even use the NXT booker spot as a trial thing like Regal could get six months to see. Even better, give someone like Orton six months off to freshen up and let him try to book for 6 months in NXT or something along those lines. You don't need 20 guys writing one show, you just need one person in charge. Vince clearly isn't the guy anymore, but a system like this would at least keep things fresh.
  4. So is Triple H in charge of NXT? Is he helping out booking, production, etc... If he is, he needs to take over the WWE today and Vince needs to retire. If he's not, whoever is running NXT needs to take over. This show was just so good. Not in a "look at all these awesome matches way", but in a "good stories paid off well with good wrestling way".
  5. The bar is headlining special events with women's matches. All Japan Women made a lot of money with women has the lead acts. UFC has head lined pay per views which did huge business with women matches. If the WWE can't do that, I don't see how you can blame the women. Push them right, sign the right ones, give them time and focus and it's worth a shot. Sure the WWE has tried in certain ways, but not in a real let's make money and treat women as another legit draw way.
  6. Sorry about the old timey sound quality. It sounds like 40's radio, not sure what happened. It's not that bad, but I will make sure that doesn't happen again. Editing is hard...
  7. http://placetobenation.com/pro-wrestling-super-show-the-wrestler-snapshot-11-andre-the-giant/ Host: Steven Graham Guests: Tim Livingston & Dave Musgrave (Wrestling Culture) On this week’s episode we focus The Wrestler Snapshot on the legendary Andre the Giant. Taking a look at matches from Japan to the WWF, we also look at some the earliest footage of Andre available, including him at 20 being a lumberjack and his role in a kung fu movie! Everybody get happy, because we are talking about Andre!
  8. Completely not the point. In 5 years, of trying hard maybe? You seem fixated on today, it will take years to undo this damage. If you push these women has big stars and give them relevant spots on the card with time, why can't a women's match headline a ppv? Obviously WrestleMania should be headlined by the title match, but why can't Night of Champions be headlined by a Divas Title match? Brie-Steph was as close as we got, and even still Brie was never pushed as a big star equal to any other guy, she was still lesser. At least they are doing two women's matches on the show.
  9. Nobody wants to see it, because nobody has promoted it right. UFC did it, AJW did it. Simply dismissing women's wrestling because it's poorly presented is a werid argument to make. By the way I was pretty pumped for Emma-Paige and Natalya-Charlotte. I don't think that's true. I don't think people want to see it because the male alternative is simply better. Women can have good matches and they do. There are good workers in WWE, TNA, etc. However, at the end of the day the bad outweighs the good and regardless of the platform they are given- women's wrestling will not take off. People talking about women in the UFC, but the thing is that is all because of Rousey and nothing more. If Ronda never decided to get in the game all of these UFC girls would be fighting in Invicta for pennies. Wrestling needs a Rousey. Someone who comes off as straight up legit and badass that even the guys can't dis-credit her. Kong had that presence about her but did not have the sex appeal. We can't sweep sex appeal under-the-rug and pretend its not import. It is. AJW women in the 90's proved women were on par with men in the ring.

  11. Luger submitted him with the rack in '97. Yup, you're right, totally missed that. Guess that goes to show how forgettable Luger's feud with Hogan and title reign in '97 was. I don't know about that, from everybody I have talked to that was one of the most memorable moments of the Monday Night War.
  12. Imagine Henry in Dr. Death's role in AJPW!!!! How awesome would Kawada-Henry, Misawa-Henry and Kobashi-Henry be?
  13. After the WWE did another bad decision on Monday with Charlotte I started wondering about women's wrestling in the States. All Japan Women had a huge run in Japan. The women in UFC have done huge business too. So, will any American company utilize women in a proper way? Can a company focusing on Women be successful, ala Lucha Underground or something? Will the WWE ever push women in a prominent spot? Is this business in America just too sexist or what are your thoughts on this?
  14. What an unfair and disappointing way to handle Muraco's debut!
  15. Grimmas

    Current WWE

It's a shame they have ruined the IC Title, because Roman sure could use a year as the secondary man with that title ala Warrior, Savage or Bret.
  16. Holy shit! The debut of Muraco!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Viewing the G1 from 2014 will be about the best NJPW.
  18. Already nominated under an incorrect name, fixed now. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/29027-los-infernaros/
  19. There is a Wrestling Culture where they talk top 5 gimmicks and Kurt Brown goes into details about a few guys from there. Awesome stuff.
  20. Bruno-Ivan definitely competes and was probably a bigger deal.
  21. Battlebowl. Some of the matchups were hokey, but I just love the 2 ring battle royale and the "randomly drawn" tag teams Heck, they could do a PPV with both Battlebowl and War Games if they ever got around to the 2 ring gimmick. It seems perfect for the network and playing to WCW nostalgia It's not like they are going out of their way to make these special events special anyway. You could even throw some NXT guys in there and you don't even need the double ring, just a battle royal at the end. How could would it be if the randomly drawn team was something like John Cena & Jey Uso vs Goldust & Sami Zayn? There is a lot of potential for this as a one night special on the network.
  22. Grimmas

    Triple H

Unless he's facing someone like Daniel Bryan, I think that is pretty fair.
  23. Grimmas

    Vader

That Final Four match is epic and I love it. For a match with Bret, Austin, Vader & Taker it is a strong point in his favour that he is the star of that match.

    Curt Hennig

It might had been some hyperbola, but compared to his other WWF stuff it was great. It was a real upswing in the very least.
  25. Ok, here we go. 34 years old. Starting in 87-88, first because my older sister watched GLOW and after seeing that and finding WWF I was hooked. First major angle I remember was Ron Bass cutting up Brutus Beefcake. HUGE into WWF till the fall of 1993, when we moved into the country and had no cable. In late 95-96 we got a US Satelite and after flipping through the channels saw Sunny and started to pay attention again. In late 96/97 was full insane into it again, this time was different though. Besides WWF, I had come across ECW late night (first saw Sandman-Raven in a barbed wire match) and started watched that on and off too. Also found lucha in the summer, I remember seeing Olimpico and Felino and being into those guys. From there the internet, tape trading and it was all down hill from there. Since then i have watched in one form or the other. I gave up watching Raw every week in about 2002, partially due to no WCW, partially due to the product stinking, and partially do to graduate work. Generally I watch a lot, but ignore Raw until January where I watch through Mania and longer if it is good. Then I usually drop that and only watch major shows and hyped stuff to go along with other viewing. Now I do a podcast, so I can't lapsed on everything like I would in the past.
