  1. Chad talked about re-booking the show, so I thought I would follow suit. Part of the problem was too many matches, so I say drop it down to 24. Then add a title match! That is 8 matches on the show, more than enough. You should even do the Battle Bowl winner gets a shot at the World Champion at SuperBrawl II. 1. Lethal Lottery: Scott Steiner & Mr. Hughes defeat Rick Steiner & Z-Man 2. Lethal Lottery: Dustin Rhodes & Jushin Liger defeat Richard Morton & Bobby Eaton 3. Lethal Lottery: Ron Simmons & Thomas Rich defeat El Gigante & Larry Zbyszko 4. Lethal Lottery: Rick Rude & Steve Austin defeat Tracy Smothers & Terrance Taylor 5. Lethal Lottery: Arn Anderson & Big Van Vader defeat Cactus Jack & PN News 6. Lethal Lottery: Sting & Abdullah the Butcher defeat Brian Pillman & Steve Armstrong 7. WCW World Champion Lex Luger defeats Ricky Steamboat 8. Battle Bowl won by Sting! I think this would be a pretty entertaining, all around better card. Too much dead weight on the original. For the World Title match, around the horn Luger was defending against Rick Steiner. That doesn't seem like a World Title match, so I say do a Lethal Lottery with the top 10 and pull out Steamboat's name to contend here. If you don't like that switch Rick Steiner and Steamboat everywhere above. Here PN News plays the Buddy Lee Parker role. You get good matches up and down the card, plus a title match and a clear direction for SuperBrawl II.
  2. That's wonderful, but please stop trolling. No, really. Not trolling. Just legitimately don't take my pro wrestling reporting seriously enough to be concerned if a reporter does commentary for a wrestling show. I'm honestly shocked that this upsets anyone. I'm not upset. However, if the top tv reporter and critic started working for fox, what would you think? Would you want to read what they had to say about any other network then?

I realize this is a small thing, but I'm wondering if theatres up here in Canada play much into those numbers. Business for PPVs in movie theatres up here is down so much that after SummerSlam, they didn't do the next few shows, until Survivor Series, which they did do. Otherwise, it has to be a case of people interested in the show, but have no access to the Network/limited internet/bandwidth, etc. as others mentioned. Canada would have to figure a bit into the domestic numbers, if but for a small percentage. Since the Network launched I have not been to the theater to see a ppv, but damn is that a fun experience. Well it's really fun if you are near kids and not near douche bags who are constantly talking about rumours that I have never heard before and that are truly incorrect.
  4. I am going to jump all over Will's rebooking and do my WM13, before he posts his. WRESTLEMANIA XIII Pre Show: New Blackjacks vs Headbangers vs Godwinns (#1 Contendes Match) Furnas & LaFon vs Owen Hart & Davey Boy (Tag Titles) Mankind vs Vader Flash Funk vs The Sultan Triple H vs Goldust The Undertaker vs Sycho Sid (World Title) Rocky Maivia vs Rockabilly (IC Title) Bret Hart vs Steve Austin (I Quit) Legion of Doom & Ahmed Johnson vs The Nation of Domination (Street Fight) Mankind vs The Undertaker (World Title) -- This was difficult to think about how you get the rest of the card (ie non I Quit and Street Fight matches) to be good, so I went with the WrestleMania X format of a mini tournament. Vader and Mankind square off and winner faces the Champion to end the show. Those two were teased to have a tough contest at Mania, so why not. You move Taker-Sid to mid-show and keep it short and then end with the Mankind-Taker match. It all makes sense, and since there was no real Rumble winner, you can name three top contenders and have a mini-type tournament. -- Furnas & LaFon had been chasing Owen & Bulldog for a few months now and never got a blow off. Let them go and have a good match here. -- Rockabilly was with Honky Tonk Man, greatest IC Champ, natural story. It couldn't be worse. -- Flash Funk was somewhat pushed, let me have a big win here over Fatu in which could be a fun little sprint. -- Pre Show is the same with Furnas & LaFon removed for the main card.
  5. Thanks for having me on, this was a lot of fun to record. I feel like I didn't get enough of a Spider-Man defense in there though.

    Punk to UFC

Have't seen it, but I doubt anyone can out dick Michael landsberg.
  7. Besides the Lethal Lottery, which I will get into on WTBBP, there is my favourite show ever in Survivor Series 89. I did a whole podcast on it for P2BN, so if you want the 90 minute version it is there. For the short version, super fun show, great commentary, fun matches, everybody at prime of characters and well booked (minus the Hogan match.)

I really think Rusev-Cena US Title with Rusev getting a decisive win is a great way to go. Keep Rusev as US Champ and have him start claiming its the most important title leading to him getting a WWE Title match at SummerSlam.

Umaga wasn't dead in the water either, but he certainly was never in a position to face a guy like The Rock after not winning the title. Rusev will be the same.

No way! Rusev is dead the moment he challenges for the title and loses. He is the new Umaga, etc... Not what I would do, but this is their pattern. Build him up, challenge the champion, and lose. He may get a title shot at SummerSlam with Reigns or something, then slowly move down the card.
  11. Too bad one of them is Roderick Strong, which seems like such a waste. I would watch the ACH match and am excited. No desire to see Daniels, but that is a smart match to book. Strong though? They have to have better opponents than that, don't they?

Who the heck wants to see Rock-Rusev? I only want to see that if it is a 6 minute squash, ala Vader-Inoki.
  13. Being a Canadian who doesn't have cable, I'm sticking with the US version via unblock.us.
  14. http://placetobenation.com/pro-wrestling-super-show-top-6-desert-island-matches/ Host: Steven Graham Guests: Pete (Titans of Wrestling) & Kris Zellner (Lucha Report) We are stranded on a desert island and we only have an unlimited power source, dvd player, TV and 6 wrestling matches. was a rematch from the previous month? Heck, run anyone vs Lesnar with Cena in their corner if that helps. Dolph w/ Cena vs Brock or Mark Henry w/ Cena vs Brock or Sheamus w/ Cena vs Brock all would had drew just as well and not ruined the SummerSlam story and made the Rumble match better. The Rumble match is now not a big deal, because of NOC.

It's really baffling (well, not really) that Cena had the rematch at NOC. It got crushed at SummerSlam and they should had built to the Rumble rematch. Brock destroying anyone else in September would had been more interesting and less stale feeling.
  17. Sorry, 31, didn't read title well enough. Man, 32 is so far off, hard to predict. Taker in HOF, Austin involvement are good bets. Anything outside of that would be silly to predict. What I would love is for Rusev to be the dominant heel champion for at least ten months coming into this.
  18. Prediction: Reigns-Lesnar Rollins-Orton Cena-Rusev Sting-HHH Taker-Bray I nly want to see Cena-Rusev out of that.
  19. The Rowan Big Show talk was the best reaction since this show started.
  20. Life and the 97 yearbook distracted me from this thread, but a minis match popping up on the 97 yearbook made me pretty happy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv8PKmlJGKQ Cicloncito Ramirez vs Damiancito el Guerrero (CMLL 1/7/97) Ok, this is a must watch and the best match I've seen since I started this thread. The matwork is out of this world smooth. When they hit high spots, they are amazing, including two of the best topes I have ever seen. The third fall is one of the best final falls I have seen and was so great, I rewound and watched again. I loved this match and will re-visit it again. Just perfect lucha title match wrestling. **** 1/2

  22. For 15, I was thinking of Tracy Smothers, Bull Nakano or Shinya Hashimoto? Who should take the last spot or do you have a better suggestion?
  23. So, for the 15 spots, so far: 1) Mascarita Dorada 2) Tommy Rich 3) Ronnie Garvin 4) Bruno Sammartino 5) Vic Faulkner 6) Osamu Nishimura 7) Invader I 8) Eric Embry 9) Virus 10) Eddie Guerrero 11) Larry Zbyszko 12) Ron Starr 13) Jushin Liger 14) Tony Anthony
  24. I'd love to hear Dave talk again broach the subject of reevaluating old footage. Since World launched that's pretty much all he's been doing. It's a pretty seismic shift from someone who once directly told me that reevaluating old footage was a waste of time because you have to be in the moment to get a match. Not this shit again. He doesn't believe in rerating old matches, because he believes in sticking with the rating he gave it in the moment, which is perfectly reasonable and makes a ton of sense, yet is constantly misinterpreted by some here. This has nothing to do with rewatching old matches, and *gasp*, enjoying them. Actually it's insane. Imagine if movies, paintings and music couldn't be re-evaluated? It's a Wonderful Life would be a nothing movie nobody would watch, if that was the case.
  25. Instead of the European Title, they should really make either a Network Title (Title only defended on the Network) or an Online Title (all matches posted to youtube).
