That PPV match had me very emotionally into the Rhodes family winning. I was at the theater with a friend and I was almost yelling at the screen when the Shield was cheating. Same with the tag match from Raw. So yeah, I can still be emotionally connected even at 32 years old, it just depends on the wrestler and their current storyline.

How did Bockwinkel vs. Larry fall to 32? I had it number 2 and it blew my mind.

Here is a question: which tag match was the better, the one from Battleground or from Raw? They were both really awesome for different reasons. I find it really hard to pick between the two.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley is seen leaving Mr. Perfect's locker room and Perfect is seen lying on the ground holding is knee in agony. Jesse James & Bob Holly vs. The Smokin' Gunns. * During the match Bart Gunn accidently closthelined Billy Gunn, later on Billy walked out of the match, ending the Smokin' Gunns and leading to Holly & James picking up the victory. This is Jesse James & Bob Holly's debut as a tag team. Backstage Mankind & Paul Bearer & The Executioner are bragging about burying The Undertaker alive and claim you will never see him again. They hyped the Wild Card match at Survivor Series. Jim Ross conducted an in-ring interview with Gorilla Monsoon, Marc Mero, Sable, Mr. Perfect and Hunter Hearst Helmslehy in which Monsoon announced that Perfect was not cleared to wrestle tonight against Helmsley, but Perfect said Mero had volunteered to take his place in the match. Helmsley objected, saying he wasn't obligated to wrestle Mero and that he would only do so if the IC Title was on the line. Perfect then agreed on behalf of Mero that the title would be on the line and Monsoon allowed the match to take place. Sid vs. Davey Boy Smith w/Clarence Mason * Sid wins via DQ when Owen Hart interfered, after the match, Shawn Michaels made the save. Sunny is seen in the locker room watching the match. Jim Ross conducted an in-ring interview with Bret Hart in which he stated the only thing the WWF was misssing was him. He agreed to return to the WWF and that he would face the best wrestler in the world today, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at Survivor Series. At around the ten minute mark, Mr. Perfect hit Mero with a steel chair behind the referee's back, leading to Helmsley winning the title. Helmsley and Perfect celebrated after the match. What if Randy Savage returned to the WWF at Survivor Series 1996? I know this was a rumour out there at the time, however I have no idea if it had any validity. However, I am going to run with it. I am not going to start at Survivor Series though, but start the night after Buried Alive. I am going to loosely follow events, but modify as I go. I started doing this in September and completely forgot about this thread. I figured I had all my star ratings from the AWA set, I might as well make a list. It's pretty short, because I didn't add anything I haven't watched in a long time. However, it's a fun project to keep a spreadsheet of what you watched that is good.

I've watched about 4 matches now and just realized that I stopped watching puro in 1999, so this is all new, outside of a few rare matches.

Why not do it then? Hell, do it every year or 2. There will always be new footage popping up in circles such as this one, nevermind that tastes and opinions can change and evolve. No one should be wedded to prior rankings / votes. There are a bunch of guys regularly touted on PWO who I frankly have seen close to zero of. Perhaps that DQ's me from participating in the eyes of some, perhaps it doesn't. Ditto Matt D and the AJ crew. This is such a natural trigger for thinking and discussion that I don't see why it shouldn't be a regularly scheduled tradition. You know what would be good? Let's say we do this and we have a deadline of say 2015? Then we try to sight and sound it and do it every 10 years (I can't believe I've been around the dvdr community for 14 years already, so a list in two years and every ten years is not that insane).

When Dave told me about this episode a week ago, I was excited. It didn't dissapoint, a great episode. Loved the lists and discussions. I like the idea of doing another pool, although I would need a LOT of time to rewatch. I can do a top ten right now, good idea Parv. I'm not so big into puro, especially post 97, however I downloaded the spreadsheet and I am going to start watching some things. To start I am going to watch every Tenryu match. Then I am going to watch every Koji Kanemoto match and keep going like that with my favourites. Hopefully I get through enough to toss out a ballot.

I love Savage-Hart from SNME in 87.

I haven't seen much of Buddy outside of his Backlund and AWA matches, so I won't vote. However, I do want to comment on Bockwinkel, because I think old man babyface Bockwinkel is one of my new favourite wrestlers. I had his match with Larry Z number 2 and his match with Stan Hansen at number 6 on the AWA set. As great as he was as a heel, him as a clever former heel babyface was just so great.

I was talking to Dave Musgrave before the show started and I mentioned how I was more excited for Goldust-Cody vs. Shield than any match in a long time and boy did it deliver. From Goldust's paint being beyound awesome to the locker room emptying to celebrate the whole thing was just perfect. Goldust proved he is still one of the best in the world, which was great to see. I echo the statements that he may be one of the greatest tag wrestlers ever. His punches and powerslam are some of the best ever as well. Worth the price of the whole show. Main event was going real well until the "finish".

WWF @ Brockville, Ontario - Memorial Centre - May 26, 1993 Tatanka defeated Razor Ramon Doink the Clown defeated Crush Owen Hart defeated Terry Taylor The Undertaker defeated Giant Gonzalez WWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & IRS defeated Rick & Scott Steiner This was my first live experience and I was 12 years old, so of course this was awesome. I do Remember Money Inc. vs. Steiner Brothers being pretty good though. Outside of that Taker's entrance was really good. I've seen a Smackdown, a few house shows, SummerSlam 2004 and a bunch of house shows, but I think my favourite was a few weeks ago when I saw Goldust vs. Randy Orton live on Raw. That match had such a feeling and was so great to watch.

Those two had some great matches... I know Will hates him, but fuck that, Muraco ruled from 81-85!!! That Snuka series over the IC belt is great stuff...heated as hell... Bloody too.

I remember loving the strap match between Muraco and Snuka and it having an amazing ending.

This episode made me want to do some type of fantasy league. I figure if there is 6-7 of us who want to do a draft and fantasy book it, a weekly show and bimonthly ppv would work well.

I guess Punk-Cena doesn't count as part of this era?

Not sure, but a comp covering his whole career would be pretty awesome. As X-Pac he still had a lot of good stuff.
