    Remarkable match featuring extremely good workers. MS-1's selling for Satanico was awesome. Interesting to see Tony Salazar (Mistico's uncle) work with the Ulises gimmick. This was towards the end of his career though.

    Excellent. This was loads of fun. Too bad it lasted only 10 minutes. “Macho King” Randy Savage was accompanied by “Queen” Sensational Sherri. They were all in WWF-mode, which was a great contrast to Tenryu’s serious All Japan style. Tenryu really adapted well to the WWF style though. Savage was as intense as ever and Sherri played her part in the match perfectly. She was arguing with everyone in sight. Tenryu was all business and proved how versatile he could be. The crowd in the Tokyo Egg Dome was totally behind Tenryu. Great crowd heat. It was great to see how over Savage and Sherri were here. Other than Liger vs. Sano, I think this has been the most enjoyable match on the set so far.

    Tom Zenk dragged the match down quite a bit. Still, a very good match. I like their match from February slightly better though.

    This was a great brawl. Everyone in this match gave extraordinary performances, especially Onita was great. This is how a brawl is supposed to be worked. One of the four best matches of 1990 so far, in my opinion.

    Big Bossman decides that Brother Love is under arrest. Jesse Ventura: "On what grounds?" But yeah, the Brother Love segments are a lot of fun.

    I liked this better than Flair vs. Zenk, but liked it not as much as Flair vs. Eaton.

    Wow, Akeem actually talked. I don't ever recall seeing that before. Usually he just stands in the background doing his goofy mannerisms while Slick talks. But yeah, good angles going on at the time in the WWF.

    All of these promos by Hogan and Warrior are just totally insane. Amazing stuff. It's hard to pick which of their promos are the best, they seem to get crazier each and every time.

    This was unremarkable. Shoot style isn’t really my thing. I remember Kazuo Yamazaki from his New Japan years. I’m not sure what to think of him as a worker though. Some of the action in this match was okay, but the match simply felt unmemorable when it was over. I guess it’s just really not my thing.

    This was impressive. This match took place at Madison Square Garden. The story of the match was obviously that the Rockers had to use their speed and agility against the strength and size of the Powers of Pain. A simple story, but a story well told. Great execution by everyone involved. This match is definitely one of the lost WWF classics that had recently been rediscovered. The Rockers and the Barbarian worked really well. The Warlord, who was the weakest worker of the match, played his roll well and never dragged the match down. The fact that this match appears on the set right after an All Japan tag match and doesn’t feel that much weaker says a lot about the quality of this match.

    This was marvelous. Jumbo Tsuruta worked over Fuyuki’s leg in a vicious way. Tiger Mask II (Mitsuharu Misawa) showed some good stuff, but he hadn’t reached main event status yet. This was mostly about Tenryu vs. Jumbo though. Tenryu was the best performer in the match. Tenryu hit some really stiff moves. Fuyuki tried to unmask Misawa. Of the workers involved in this match, Tenryu is the only one that is still alive today. You have workers who are all about the big things in a match and you have workers who are all about the little things in a match… Tenryu is all about both. What an amazing worker. The finish of this match was quite unique to say the least.

    This was really good. Better than I expected. There was lots of really good back-and-forth action. Arn Anderson challenged for Great Muta’s Television Championship. Dragon Master and Buzz Sawyer were in Muta’s corner. Cornette on commentary referred to Sawyer as being mentally ill. Anderson won the Television Championship. After the match, in an insane promo, Sawyer challenged Anderson. Buzz Sawyer truly was a Mad Dog.

    This was extremely good. Bobby Eaton, one half of the Midnight Express, was introduced by his manager, Jim Cornette. Ric Flair was the World Heavyweight Champion. Flair was still in his prime here. Bobby Eaton took some nasty bumps. Flair’s reaction to Cornette attacking him with the tennis racket was great. Cornette mocking the Horsemen was awesome. While Eaton is mostly known for his tag team matches, this match shows what an impressive singles wrestler he was.

    This was a typically great interview with Savage and Sherri. Both were such great performers. They talked about the upcoming Royal Rumble.

    This was fun. Brother Love (Bruce Prichard) interviewed the heel managers of the WWF. They talked about the upcoming Royal Rumble. The Sensational Sherri claimed that Randy Savage was going to win the Royal Rumble. Jimmy Hart put over his men (Honky Tonk Man, Dino Bravo and Earthquake). Slick talked about Akeem. Mr. Fuji was the manager of the Powers of Pain (Barbarian & Warlord). Bobby Heenan agreed that all those wrestlers are impressive, but that he managed the great stable of Andre the Giant, Haku, Mr. Perfect and Rick Rude. Well, Heenan did have a great stable indeed. The WWF had great managers back then!

    This was fun. Rick Martel claimed that Brutus Beefcake was an insult to fashion and an insult to wrestling. I guess he has a point there. Beefcake came down and destroyed Martel’s raincoat. This featured typical great commentary by Jesse Ventura and Vince McMahon, putting over the angle like it was a big angle.

    This was marvelous. 1990s joshi puroresu is one of my favorite things ever. I’m totally in the joshi puroresu mode at the moment, so I really enjoyed this. It was great to see these workers at this stage in their career. All four would play a big role in joshi puroresu throughout the decade. Hokuto was such a great pure worker at this point in her career. While she would get better as an overall worker a few years later, her pure workrate was great here. Mita was not yet the imposing force she would later become. She was the weakest worker in the match and she was mostly selling in this match. Still, she did the best she could do at that point in her career and never dragged the match down. She debuted around the same time as Yamada and Hotta, but it just took her a bit longer to make in impact in the joshi puroresu scene. Hotta was at this time basically a more forgiving version of what she would later become, but already showed signs of her future viciousness. Yamada was great. I’m a big fan of her work, especially her late 1980s-early 1990s work. This match shows that there were still plenty of school girls in the crowd in early 1990. Not as much as in the 1980s, when the crowd almost entirely consisted of school girls. This match took place on the show where Bull Nakano won the WWWA World Championship.

    This was extremely good. Kawada & Fuyuki were the AJPW All Asia Tag Team Champions. They won that championship by defeating Dan Kroffat & Doug Furnas in October 1989. Tommy Rogers was so athletic and he truly was an underrated worker. Bobby Fulton did a lot of good stuff too. It was not all about the Fantastics though, because Footloose gave a very good performance as well (even though it wasn’t the best Footloose performance ever). I liked the bumping and selling by everyone involved. I didn’t really mind the lack of crowd heat (although it would obviously have been nice if there was more response from the crowd). The Fantastics had a decent match with The British Bulldogs later that month.

    This was pretty good. It was interesting to see Eddy Guerrero at such an early stage in his career. He clearly showed potential to become great, but he wasn’t close to hitting his peak yet. He showed some good work and he executed some great looking uppercuts. In the third fall, Blue Demon Jr. turned on El Hijo Del Santo after the Guerreros tricked Demon into thinking that Santo attacked him. The angle was executed quite poorly though. The angle reminded me a lot of how Love Machine Art Barr would convince Eddy Guerrero in 1993 that he should turn on Santo. That angle in 1993 was executed quite well though.

    This was good. I used to be a big lucha fan years ago. I still enjoy watching lucha once in a while though. This was a fun little match. All these workers are legendary. Yoshinari Asai would later become Ultimo Dragon. This match had some fast-paced crisp work from all involved.

    This was an awesomely cheesy video by Otto Wanz’ Austrian/German Catch Wrestling Association promotion. Cool to see Owen Hart in there. What a great way to start off the set. I ended up watching this video clip a few times in a row and I seemed to love it more and more with each viewing.
