  1. On the Heroes of World Class documentary Gary Hart actually went with the non-foul play story. On both documentaries Hart was in tears when talking about Gino's death. I guess Gary Hart took Gino's death much harder than all the other WCCW deaths as he blamed himself for it (and he probably was much closer to Gino than to any of the Von Erichs). I think the story was that Gino called Gary one or two days before his death which was basically a cry for help and Gary Hart did not take it seriously enough.
  2. Didn't Gary Hart do the same in the WCCW DVD documentary that is on the network as well?

    WWE Roadblock

I usually have no problems ignoring the announcers but JBL shouting "you still got it" one minute straight hugely annoyed me, especially considering that the Jericho vs. Swagger match was full of clumsiness (on both sides). For someone considered a mechanic Jericho tends to blow a lot of stuff.
  4. Did they really look for the next Steve Austin? Who did they push in 2001 until the Cena era that was anything like Austin?
  5. Did Puppet H show up yet? That's the only thing from the trailer that I'm looking forward to. I think there was Puppet Cena, but no Puppet H.
  6. I watched the first episode. It was not as horrible as the preview indicated. There were a couple of mildly amusing segments (including Corey Graves going to a gym and asking random people about Edge & Christian; of all the people they showed only a not-thin not-beautiful woman had any clue who he was taking about) and a couple of yawn-segments.

    WWE Fastlane

I quit the show after Ziggler vs. Owens. Maybe I will watch the rest of the show tomorrow or so but Ziggler is so bad that he can kill any show for me now. I think would rather watch Cameron vs. Eva Marie in a 60 minute iron man match than another 15 minute Ziggler match.
  8. How was the TNA cage match called where you have to climb out of a dome-cage which most people had difficulties doing so?
  9. I haven't watched any JBL interview (yet), but wasn't the critic with the Bischoff interview that JBL was not prepared at all and therefore let Bischoff get away with a lot of shit?
  10. I have watched the first episode of Ride Along yesterday and this were 20 minutes of my life that I will never get back. It is not as if it's horrible but it's just boring. The only interesting thing worth noting (at least to a European) was Kofi and Big E not using seat belts.
  11. Styles won pretty convincingly wrestler of the year, Tanahashi, Okada and Nakamura were close together on places 2-4. Best WWE wrestler was Cena on 5. The top 10 in most outstanding had 6 New Japan wrestler (Styles who won, Tanahashi, Okada, Nakamura, Ishii and Ibushi) plus Rollins and Cesaro from WWE, Hero and Strong. The rest did not contain many noteable results except maybe that WWE only ranked 7 on the promotion of the year award (when was the last time they were that low?). Of course TNA smoked them in worst promotion.
  12. Is there some kind of (accidental) segregation here? In the front row of the celebration are only black and Samoan people while the whites keep themselves mostly the in the background.
  13. It depends on if you count Bret vs. Yoko. You could argue that it does not as the for WM X it was not clear if Bret's opponent in the main event is Yoko or Luger.
  14. The way he phrased it did not sound that positive, the gist was "even in his heyday 30 years ago he did nothing but headbutts and holds and he can still do that".
  15. That Goto vs. Naito rating is absolutely insane. Both are mediocre guys when they are working hard and they did not show much here. Honestly I though that was the worst match of the night.

    WrestleMania 32

I did not follow TNA at all but in the last two years or so I cannot remember any Angle scandals so either ( a ) he has become more careful when and how to do drugs or ( b ) he cleaned up.

    WrestleMania 32

How would a Mania flop in the post PPV area by measured?
  18. Was there any time in its existence when TNA had the more family friendly product than WWE?
  19. It's definitely not the worst thing the WWE ever did but "Your little baby brother, he did not have much fight in him, did he?" was scummy as hell, especially everything that went with it (not warning Reid's parents beforehand, blaming it on Charlotte afterwards etc.).
  20. I get Nakamura and Styles u. to some degree Gallows, but what do they see in Anderson (besides his Randy Orton tribute spots)?
  21. It's pretty strange for a 93 WWF houseshow match to be booked like a Attitude era PPV main event. I mean the walk-out-fake-finish was a staple in WWF at this time but the rest?
  22. I was watching the Owen Hart documentary on the WWE DVD. Some random thoughts: - The whole thing is not very deep (70 minutes main feature + 45 minutes of stories), but a good enough watch. - There is no reason for Beth Phoenix to get 5 minutes or so airtime on an Owen Hart DVD. I guess they crew flew out to interview Edge and took some footage with Beth as well, but still. - The announcement of Owen's death by JR during the Over the Edge broadcast is so surreal. In the background you see a mixture of shocked fans and fans who thought the whole thing was part of the show (including a 10-year-old flipping the bird in direction of the camera). - I don't get why they had 10 guys telling their version of the "Owen prank calls a guy in the hotel" ribs. After the third time it gets really repetitive. - The way they covered Owen's dead on the documentary is really bad. They go really fast over it (like 2.5 minutes on his death plus 1.5 minutes for the "Raw is Owen" show) and the gist is "Owen fell from the ceiling and died, it was just bad luck", even Bret summarized the whole thing that way ("It was an accident, just a horrible accident and no one could have known how bad it would go that day."). No talk why he was there, no mention of the quick release mechanism, of course no mention of the law suits etc. - Obviously the name "Martha Hart" is not mentioned at all (and neither are his kids for that matters).
  23. funny typo (or auto-correct)
  24. Is it just me or were all matches except the women's match just guys running from spot to spot? The diva's championship match was the only match where I felt any build up at all. I know that the WWE style developed a lot in that direction in the last few years (let's say with Cena vs. Punk MITB as a starting point), but there have always been exceptions. Now everyone is working that way, which makes the shows really repetitive.
  25. Danielson got 12% from active wrestlers.
