Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, July 30th Jerry Lynn & Brian Christopher vs. Chris Candido & Cyrus The Virus It's hard to say which of the two teams was more of an odd pairing, but it was Christopher who ultimately prevailed by hitting the Chris Cross on Cyrus Tony St. Clair vs. Steven Regal "Tough" Tony did what he could to discipline his former student, but Regal went to the gutter and knocked him out with a hidden pair of brass knucks for the pin Maxx Payne vs. Robbie Brookside Brookside was all over Payne in the early going, but the lessons of Payne's new friend Dan Severn paid off as he was able to weather out the storm and hit the Payne Threshold (front layout suplex) for the win Jim Neidhart & Shinya Hashimoto vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu & Masanobu Fuchi The Anvil and Hashimoto were able to outlast the Blood Syndicate when Hashimoto hit the Leaping Spike DDT on Fuchi Vic Steamboat vs. Genichiro Tenryu The Demon did his best but ended up another victim of the Power Bomb, with another triumph going for Tenryu Pacific Television Title Match : "Diamond" Timothy Flowers © vs. Leo Burke In spite of a valiant effort from Burke, Flowers was able to hit the Piledriver and successfully defend his title.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , July 29th Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Bruiser Bedlam The tough as nails PCO was not about to go down easy for the big Bruiser, and put up a hell of a fight, but Bedlam was able to land a crushing elbow smash to the head from the top rope to win this duel between two pugnacious Canadians. Lou Perez & Tom Magee vs. Bob & Crash Holly Magee, another well respected Canadian competitor, knocked out Crash with a Superkick for the win. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) & Brian Lee vs. The Destruction Crew & Cactus Jack Eager to capitalize on his win the day before, Lee was keen to throw down with Cactus Jack , and the New Mexico Madman was more than willing to oblige. It looked like Lee's momentum would come to a halt when Cactus had him set up for the Double Arm DDT, but Lee blocked it and hit a bridging backdrop suplex for the win. The Can Am Express vs. Joe & Dean Malenko These two fast rising teams went to a 20 minute time limit draw. Bret Hart vs. "Mean" Mike Miller Another knock down, drag out battle between these two that Bret took with a diving clothesline. Billy Jack Haynes, Scott Hall & Dan Severn vs. Barry Windham, Curt Hennig & The Undertaker Windham seemed taken by surprise by Dan Severn, as the Pacific Submission Champion hit several jarring throws and suplexes that knocked the Pacific Heavyweight Champion for a loop. Unfortunately for Billy Jack, overwhelmed with concern for his missing manager Sunshine, that distraction proved too much as a Western Lariat from Windham gave the victory to the Neighborhood Of Evil.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, July 28th Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) vs. The Footloose Snow and Porteau have come out of nowhere to go on something of an unbeaten streak, with victories in successive weeks over the Malenkos and the Hollys. Tonight , they would be facing the fast rising Japanese team of Kawada and Fuyuki. The Footloose were certainly not about to roll over for the upstart team, and the result was a hard hitting and highly competitive match. Porteau was able to catch Fuyuki in a takeover suplex, while Snow held off Kawada, and Stormfront have pulled off another upset, cementing their status as a team to watch. Brian Lee vs. Mike Borassi The big Bulldozer has earned the admiration of the fans in his short time in PCW, but has sometimes found himself on the short end of things in the Brigade's war with the Neighborhood of Evil. Determined to show what he was capable of, Lee dominated Borassi, giving him no chance to make a move before hitting the Prime Time Slam. Brian Lee is clearly not someone to be underestimated. Vic Steamboat vs. Art Barr Never the model of stability in the best of circumstances, Art Barr's behaviour has gotten progressively more erratic of late . He came our wearing bizarre dark eye makeup and twitching as he entered the ring. Steamboat wasn't quite sure what to make of it but, with his eyes set on the equally bizarre Cactus Jack, got down to business. Barr kept the Demon on his toes during the match but Steamboat's focus proved to be the equalizer and Steamboat executed the Demon Suplex (Tiger Suplex) for the win. The Southern Boys & Sunshine vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) & Tina Ferrari The arrival of Tina Ferrari in the ranks of the Playboy Club has provided a chaotic element to the matches between the Sin City Superstars and The Southern Boys. It was only a matter of time before Ferrari and Sunshine were put directly into the game, resulting in this mixed tag match. Whereas before, Sunshine was timid in the presence of Ferrari, tonight she was determined not to be intimidated. Any time they interacted, Ferrari seemed caught off guard by the fury of Sunshine's attack. Buddy Rose was in the corner of his young charges, but the ref gave him strict orders to keep his nose out of things. That didn't stop things from breaking down into complete chaos, with all 6 competitors slugging it out in the ring at once. Sunshine was able to sweep Ferrari off her feet and was raining down punches on her, but while the ref was escorting the Southern Boys out of the ring, Scotty The Body pulled her off. He dragged her to her feet … then hit a brutal DDT! When the ref turned around, he only saw Ferrari on top of Sunshine and counted the pinfall. Armstrong and Smothers swept in to help their fallen manager, and a furious Billy Jack Haynes stormed out to the ring, but by that time, the Playboy Club were headed for the hills. Even Buddy Rose was giving Scotty a sideways look, but Scotty and Tina were cackling all the way, while the crowd looked on in shock and horror. Leo Burke vs. Cyrus The Virus The veteran Burke clearly had the crow on his side as he took on the sneaky and sinister Cyrus, who bore a wicked grin throughout the match. No matter what Burke did to try to get his hands on Cyrus, it seemed like the young Wild Thing would be able to wriggle out of his grasp. Cyrus eventually got overconfident, and quick as a flash, Burke was able to execute a belly to back suplex for the win. The fans loudly cheered their fellow Canadian on his hard fought victory. Tournament Of Lions Finals : Brian Pillman vs. Owen Hart After 5 weeks of tournament action, it all comes down to this. In the same place the tournament began, the field of 16 contenders came down to just two worthy competitors. Pillman and Hart are fire forged friends, having been Golden State Tag Team champs as the Snowbirds, but now that would have to go out the window. Only one could emerge victorious. The two shook hands before the bell rang, then got right down to brass tacks. The two started off slowly, for although they knew each other well, they were tentative about being too aggressive with each other. As the tempo of the match picked up, however, they started digging into their big moves, becoming more and more willing to do what it took to come out on top. The crowd watched in rapt attention as the excitement just kept increasing. Flyin' Brian and Owen took more and more chances, and the match grew into a real nail biter. Owen was able to send Brian flying out of the ring with a spectacular dropkick, but Pillman was just barely able to catch himself on the top rope and land on the ring apron. With lightning speed, he hit the Air Pillman on Owen and went for the cover. One … two … THREE!!!!! After a tightly competed match, Flyin' Brian emerged victorious , winning both the Tournament and the $100 000 prize. Brian helped Owen to his feet and Owen raised Brian's hand in victory, while the fans cheered the two friends for the classic match they had just put on.

Fujiwara vs. Takada to me is the money match, the tough as nails veteran facing the superstar in the making.

Pacific Coast Wrestling Show from the UCSB Event Center, Santa Barbara, July 23rd Brian Christopher vs. Chris Candido Jim Cornette and Mr. Bob Backlund were opposite corners for these two firebrands who went to a 15 minute time limit draw. Shinya Hashimoto vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu A hard hitting match between two Japanese stars that ended with Hashimoto hitting a Jumping Spike DDT for the win Jim Neidhart vs. Curt Hennig Mr. Perfect bested the Anvil with the Perfect-Plex Tracy Smothers vs. Scotty The Body With Sunshine and Tina Ferrari scrapping at ringside, the ref was distracted and missed a low blow from Scotty on Smothers, setting up a DDT to steal the win Pacific Submission Title Match : Dan Severn © vs. Steven Regal Severn was able to block an attempt at the Regal Stretch and turn it over into a Half Crab to force Regal to tap out The Midnight Express & Vic Steamboat vs. Eddie Guerrero, Art Barr & Cactus Jack As could be predicted, a wild and crazy match that ended with the Midnights hitting the Veg-O-Matic on Barr to pull out the victory. After the match, Barr seemed to be acting even more loopy than usual.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, July 22nd Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) vs. Bob & Crash Holly On a high after last week's victory over the Malenkos, Stormfront kept their momentum going with Snow pinning Crash with the Snow-Plex (Wheelbarrow Suplex) Brian Lee vs. Genichiro Tenryu The leader of the Blood Syndicate continued his winning ways, taking down "Bulldozer" Brian Lee with an enzuigiri The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. The Destruction Crew These two powerhouse teams went to a double countout with all four men brawling at ringside Pacific Television Title Match : "Diamond" Timothy Flowers © vs. Jerry Lynn Lynn gave a considerable challenge to Flowers before finally being put down by the Piledriver Scott Hall, Lou Perez & Tom Magee vs. The Undertaker & Death Sentence (Jimmie Lee & The Hangman) The Undertaker did a lot of damage to the new model Brigade but Perez and Magee were able to hold him off long enough for Hall to hit the Gator Breaker (Fallaway slam) on Lee for the win Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. Tony St. Clair "Tough" Tony gave Windham all he had and came close to pulling off the victory but got hit with a big Western Lariat to keep the title in the hands of the Widowmaker.

In Memory Of Pacific Coast Wrestling Competitor, Adrian Adonis 1953-1988 Bruiser Bedlam vs. Joe Dowdle Last week in San Francisco, Billy Jack Haynes was attacked by a mysterious stranger. This week, it was revealed that the attacker is the latest member of the Neighborhood Of Evil, one Bruiser Bedlam by name. A surly brawler from Hamilton , Ontario who sported several tattoos, Bedlam tore into poor Dowdle like a stewed chicken, battering him from pillar to post before submitting him with a double stomach claw. It looks like the Neighborhood is out for revenge on Billy Jack for running off Makhan Singh and has brought in a serious leg-breaker to get that done. The Footloose vs. The Can-Am Express Doug Furnas put the last nail in the coffin of his association with the Citadel when he brought out his new partner, Phil Lafon, to form the Can-Am Express. Tonight, they were facing the fast rising young Japanese team of the Footloose, who gave Furnas and Lafon all they could handle. Kawada and Fuyuki gave them a real run for their money, but Furnas was able to overpower Fuyuki with a German Suplex to earn the hard fought victory. Tournament Of Lions Semi Finals : Brian Pillman vs. Dean Malenko This would be the first Semi Final match in the Inaugural Tournament Of Lions and anticipation was running high. Pillman and Malenko are two of the hottest young stars in Pacific Coast Wrestling and both men were keen to get their shot at the $100000 prize, not to mention the enormous prestige of winning the tournament. Back when Pillman was Light Heavyweight Champion, he managed to get Dean to submit during a title defense, and Malenko was looking for payback. He was very intent on getting Flyin' Brian in the Texas Cloverleaf, coming close on several occasions, but the always resilient Pillman was able to escape. This singular focus of Malenko wound up costing him, as during one attempt to lock in the hold, Pillman trapped him in a Small Package for the one two three. Pillman now had the first spot in the finals. Who would be joining him? Dustin Rhodes vs. Mark Starr "Playboy" Buddy Rose has been running scared from Dustin Rhodes for a while now, throwing everyone in the Playboy Club into his path to cut him off. Tonight, it would be the turn of one half of the Pacific Tag Champs, and unlike his more boisterous partner Scotty The Body, Starr meant business. Tina Ferrari was at ringside, but despite her distraction, Rhodes was able to stay clear of both the Heel Hook and the Starrburst Suplex. Rhodes put down Starr with the Running Bulldog Headlock and score the pinfall. Rose must be clutching the California Title Belt extra tightly these days. Tournament Of Lions Semi Finals : Owen Hart vs. Eddie Guerrero The last match of the evening would decide the final spot the finals of the Tournament Of Lions. These two were very keen on getting that last spot, as well as upholding the reputations of the Hart and Guerrero families. They brought that heat to the match, going full bore from the get go. As the match went on, the two wrestlers took bigger chances, with a missed Frog Splash by Eddie and a dodged Moonsault by Owen taking their toll. The two pushed on and kept going until Owen caught Eddie coming off the ropes with a Belly To Belly Suplex and that was that. The finals were now set : Brian Pillman vs. Owen Hart.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, July 16th Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Candido Another barn burner match between these two, this time going to Lynn with a jarring Package Piledriver. Jim Neidhart vs. Steven Regal Neidhart's unbeaten streak in his home town of Fresno got a serious challenge from Steven Regal, who really pushed him to his limits. Unfortunately for Regal, his former friend Tony St. Clair came to ringside and observed the match. St. Clair did nothing to actively to interfere in the match, simply glaring at Regal, but Regal let himself get distracted by him. Regal stopped to jaw with St. Clair, only to turn around into a flying shoulder tackle that would give the win to the Anvil. Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) vs. Joe & Dean Malenko Stormfront have had a hard road in getting established in PCW, but gave it their best against the Malenko Brothers. It looked they would come up short one more time when Joe got Porteau set up for a German Suplex. The Pug dug in and blocked it, then reversed it into a Bridging Back Suplex. Dean came in to break it up, but a dropkick from Snow cut him off, and the ref counted to three, giving Stormfront what would have to be considered a considerable upset. The crowd was jubilant that Snow and Porteau were able to pull it off. Tony St. Clair vs. Bob Backlund Regal was at ringside for this match, and on a number of occasions had to be held back by Chris Candido from interfering. St. Clair and Backlund had a hard hitting bout where Backlund was just barely able to hold down St. Clair with the Backlund Bridge. Leo Burke vs. Genichiro Tenryu Once again, the leader of the Blood Syndicate proved unstoppable as he pinned Burke with a Power Bomb. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : The Cheetah Kid © vs. Masanobu Fuchi The Cheetah Kid had just regained his Light Heavyweight Title and determined not to lose it again, but faced a stern test in Masanobu Fuchi. The Blood Syndicate member was relentless as he went after the masked man, and the champ was just barely able to block an attempted backdrop suplex and counter with a swinging neckbreaker to emerge victorious.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, July 15th Maxx Payne vs. Cyrus The Virus Showing a renewed sense of purpose instilled by his new mentor Dan Severn, who was at ringside for the match, Payne put away the Virus with the Payne Threshold (front layout suplex). Bret Hart vs. "Mean" Mike Miller Another vicious brawl between these two that went to Bret when he levelled Miller with a diving clothesline. Brian Christopher vs. Bob Holly Jim Cornette's confidence in his young charge continued to get results as Christopher finished off Holly with the Chris Cross (Full Nelson facebuster) Billy Jack Haynes & Scott Hall vs. The Undertaker & Curt Hennig This was an incredibly heated battle between the Neighborhood Of Evil and their rivals. Billy Jack, fresh off running Makhan Singh out of town last week, was looking to put away Hennig when he nearly had the Full Nelson cinched in. But while the ref was distracted by Hall and Undertaker slugging it out on the outside, a burly tattooed man ran into the ring and clobbered Billy Jack with an elbow smash to the back of the head that dropped him like a shot. Billy Jack was then easy prey for the Perfect-Plex and the match went to the Neighborhood. Pacific Submission Title Match : Dan Severn © vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu Maxx Payne was at ringside and paying close attention to Dan Severn. The champion faced a stiff challenge in one of the Blood Syndicate, but was able to avoid the Jailhouse Lock and trap Yatsu in a half crab to force the tap out. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. Dustin Rhodes Dustin did well against the champ, but Buddy Rose snuck down to ringside and tripped him coming off the ropes, leaving him vulnerable to a lariat from Windham to keep the title belt around the waist of the Widowmaker.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, July 14th The Can-Am Express vs. Jerry Sims & Spencer Duhm In the past couple of weeks, Doug Furnas has taken leave of the Citadel, citing a difference in philosophy. Those wondering what his ultimate plans were got their answer when he came out with his new partner, Phil Lafon. Lafon was a former Pacific Tag Team Title holder (under the name Phil Lafleur) and had most recently been in Stampede Wrestling. While both men had previously been favorites of the fans, they came out paying no heed whatsoever to anyone in the crowd. While they didn't do anything per se outside the ring, there was a distinct air of ruthlessness as they utterly dismantled Sims and Duhm. After they polished off Duhm when Lafon clotheslined Sims into a German Suplex by Furnas, it was clear that a tag team to contend with had just made their debut. Tournament Of Lions Quarter Finals : Brian Pillman vs. Robbie Brookside Last week , Robbie Brookside lost his newly won Light Heavyweight title back to the Cheetah Kid, and was clearly looking to take out his frustrations on Brian Pillman. Flyin' Brian was certainly not about to take that sort of thing lying down (not Lyin' Brian?) and fought back with equal ferocity. The two had an intense and gripping match, but Brookside's hot temper would end up costing him. He got careless and went for the Northern Lights Suplex too soon, and Pillman was able to nail a brutal DDT to move on to the Semi-Finals. Tournament Of Lions Quarter Finals : Toshiaki Kawada vs. Dean Malenko These two have been having an exciting series of tag team matches, but would be squaring off in a singles bout in the Tournament Quarter Finals. It broke down to a battle to see who could hit the Brainbuster first, with Kawada hitting some blistering kicks to set his move up, with Dean countering with jarring takedowns. Malenko was able to hit several precision dropkicks to Kawada's knee, which allowed him to hit the Brainbuster and put an end to the match. Lou Perez & ?? ?? vs. Death Sentence (Jimmie Lee & The Hangman) Perez came out with Scott Hall, but "Gator" was not dressed in his ring gear so evidently would not be his partner. Hall asked for the ringside microphone. Hall : So Mr. So-Called Perfect decided he was too perfect for the Brigade. Well, if the Brigade does one thing well, it is being able to come back from a loss. I called on an old friend to see if they would be willing to come back to the Brigade, and he was all for it. He and I were Golden State Tag Team champs together, and I knew he would be just the right partner for the Ladies Man here … "Megaman" Tom Magee! The crowd cheers the return of Megaman, which is not surprising as the handsome young man had been quite popular during his previous run in PCW. Death Sentence tried to jump them before the bell, but Perez and Magee were ready to go and went at it fist and fire with the NOE team. The Gravedigger and the Hangman did everything they could to bring the match down into complete chaos. However Magee was able to catch Hangman off-guard with a lightning quick Superkick and score the win in his return match. Tournament Of Lions Quarter Finals : Owen Hart vs. Chris Candido These two young stars have become among the hottest contenders in PCW, showing why in an incredible match. They were both eager to win their spot in the Semi Finals, going all out to best the other one. This one was a real nail biter, with the excitement escalating until Owen caught Candido in a moonsault body press and scoring the hard fought three count. Tournament Of Lions Quarter Finals : Vic Steamboat vs. Eddie Guerrero The show closed off with the last match of the Quarter Finals, and the Demon kept up his battle with the Wild Things, dueling with one half of the Golden State tag champs. Steamboat didn't hold back at all, reddening Guerrero's chest with ferocious chops. Eddie seemed somewhat taken aback, but rallied with his own considerable in ring skill mixed in with some subterfuge. It looked like Steamboat would move on in the tournament when he had Eddie set up for the Demon Suplex (Tiger Suplex). However, much like last week , Guerrero cut it off with a nasty low blow back kick. He followed up with a Schoolboy Rollup assisted by a handful of tights and just like that, Eddie Guerrero had stolen his way into the Semi Finals.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, July 9th Brian Christopher vs. Art Barr Christopher continued his hot streak by defeating one half of the Golden State Tag Team champs with the Chris Cross (Full Nelson facebuster) Leo Burke vs. Cactus Jack Burke had his hands full with his former pupil, and Jack was able to stagger Burke with a running elbow smash before hitting the double arm DDT for the win. Alex Porteau vs. Steven Regal Porteau brought considerable scientific wrestling expertise to this match, and the two had quite the technical showdown before Regal was able to pull out the victory with the Regal-Plex. Shinya Hashimoto vs. Mark Starr This time , it was Starr's turn to shine, displaying an impressive amount of ring acumen before finally going down to Hashimoto's Leaping Spike DDT. Ricky Fuyuki vs. Doug Furnas Furnas cemented his departure from the Citadel by coming out alone and overpowering the Footloose member, crushing him with the Volunteer Slam (running Canadian Backbreaker into the corner) for the dominant win. The Southern Boys vs. The Destruction Crew Sunshine's men got right down to it with Ronnie P. Gossett's crew in a furious battle that went to the Southern Boys thanks to a running bulldog from Armstrong on Enos Pacific Television Title Match : "Diamond" Timothy Flowers © vs. Tony St. Clair St. Clair was trying to suplex Flowers from the ring apron into the ring when Steven Regal, who had snuck down to ringside, tripped him from the outside and held his leg down while Flowers covered him, robbing "Tough" Tony of the TV title.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, July 8th Jim Neidhart vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu These two tough as nails warriors had a knock down , drag out fight that spilled over outside the ring, leading to a double count out. Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Genichiro Tenryu Ouellet did the best he could and put up a credible fight, but the leader of the Blood Syndicate ultimately prevailed with a Power Bomb. Can anyone stop Tenryu? The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. Muscle Beach (Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) Looking to prove themselves, Muscle Beach took the low road every chance they could in this match, even bringing a chair into the ring when the ref was knocked down. But the Eagle was able to dropkick the chair into Cairo's face, knocking him to the match. The Patriot then clotheslined Price out of the ring, and when the ref recovered, he made the three count, giving the match to the masked men. Scott Hall & Lou Perez vs. Barry Windham & Curt Hennig Hall worked hard to rally the remnants of the Brigade against their former friends, but the team of the Heavyweight Champ and the newly dubbed Mr. Perfect was too much to overcome, with Hennig pinning Perez with the Hennig, errr, Perfect-Plex. California Title Match : Buddy Rose © vs. Brian Lee As is his usual operation procedure these days, Rose did everything he could to avoid engaging with the big Bulldozer, and when he did, worked in every underhanded tactic he could. When the ref was knocked down during the match (the PCW refs sure have gotten clumsy lately), he called in Muscle Beach , who came running out with chairs in hand. But Price and Cairo found themselves stymied by the Patriot and the Eagle, who chased them down and prevented them from assisting Rose. In desperation, Rose called out to Tina Ferrari , who tossed him in a pair of brass knucks. Just as he attempted to hit Lee with them, the ref came to and immediately disqualified him. Rose argued with Price and Cairo after the match, eventually telling them to get out of his sight and never come near him again. Loser Leaves Town Cage Match : Billy Jack Haynes vs. Makhan Singh After a series of ferocious battles, Billy Jack and the Monster had finally had enough, and it came down to this match where both men would enter a cage and only one would come out still a member of the PCW roster. This was out and out carnage, as both men were battered bloody by the midway point of the match. This was a brutal war of attrition, but Billy Jack was able to gut it out and level Singh with a clothesline before going up top and hitting a flying legdrop to put him away. After and short but impactful run, Makhan Singh was gone from Pacific Coast Wrestling.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN, July 7th Tournament Of Lions Round 1: Owen Hart vs. Masanobu Fuchi The Tournament Of Lions rolls on with the youngest of the Hart siblings facing the seasoned Japanese veteran. Owen knew he was in for a tough battle, as the Blood Syndicate have been incredibly dominant since arriving in PCW. Knowing of Owen's impressive aerial skills, Fuchi sought to ground him by immediately taking him down to the mat. But Owen had been trained on the mat by his father, the legendary Stu Hart, and was able to keep pace with Fuchi. Fuchi wound up attempting a leglock submission, but Owen was able to block and counter it. It took considerable effort, but Owen was able to get Fuchi in the Sharpshooter, the signature move of his brother Bret. Fuchi held out for as long as he could but eventually had to tap out, and Owen had earned his place in the second round. Tournament Of Lions Round 1: Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Candido Lynn and Candido have had several thrilling matches on house shows of late, and this one was no different. A true rivalry has sparked between these two emerging stars, and they got the crowd going with their fast paced offense. The two kept trying to one up each other to pull out the victory, but it came down to an attempted Beel Throw by Lynn that was blocked by Candido and countered with a side suplex for the pinfall. An impressive win for Mr. Bob Backlund's favorite son. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest now finds himself a free agent in Pacific Coast Wrestling … Maxx Payne . Payne faces a muted reaction from the crowd as he stalks out to the ring, bearing and incredibly dejected hangdog expression Coss : Maxx Payne, you recently found yourself kicked out of the Neighborhood Of Evil, at the start of a Squadron Battle Match at Deseret Storm no less. How does that feel? Payne : Coss, I did everything that the Neighborhood Of Evil asked of me. I faced everyone they told me to face, did my best to do as much damage as I could. It wasn't good enough. I wasn't good enough. Maybe they are right . Maybe I should just give up. Tournament Of Lions Round 1: Al Snow vs. Eddie Guerrero The next match of the tournament featured two wrestlers from the highly competitive PCW Tag Team Division, with Snow representing the newly formed duo of Stormfront and Guerrero being one half of the Golden State Tag Team Champs with Art Barr. Snow was certainly not intimidated by Eddie's status as champion, and gave the second generation star as good as he got. But Eddie proved to be just the more cutthroat, blocking an attempted backslide with a vicious backwards low kick and following up with an over the shoulder neckbreaker to move on in the tournament. Tournament Of Lions Round 1: Vic Steamboat vs. Cyrus The Virus The first round closes off with a duel between the Demon and the Virus. Steamboat is embroiled in a heated feud with Cyrus' Wild Things leader Cactus Jack and looked to be trying to take out some of his frustrations on the young Canadian. Cyrus tried to fight back with his customary deviousness and subterfuge, but found himself overwhelmed , and Steamboat was able to pin him with the Demon Suplex (Tiger Suplex). On to the second round! Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Robbie Brookside © vs. The Cheetah Kid Last week in Kelowna, Robbie Brookside shocked the whole of Pacific Coast Wrestling by taking the Light Heavyweight Title from the Cheetah Kid. A rematch was immediately signed, and the masked man did all he could to try to make Brookside's reign a short one. Brookside had Mr. Bob Backlund in his corner, and the leader of the Knights Templar was ready with support and guidance throughout the match. Cheetah Kid paid no nevermind to Backlund, maintaining a steely focus on trying to regain the title. The momentum of the battle swung back and forth throughout the match, but it looked like it would ultimately tip in favor of Brookside when he got Cheetah Kid set up for the Northern Lights Suplex. Quick as a flash, Kid countered with a small package. One … two … no! Brookside was able to kick out just when it looked like Kid would take back the title the same way he lost it. Brookside pulled Kid up to his feet, but Kid immediately took him down with a lightning quick dropkick. Cheetah Kid then raced up to the top rope and came off with a somersault senton. One … two … THREE!!! The crowd exploded in cheers as the Cheetah Kid once again became Light Heavyweight Champion! Brookside and Backlund protested that it was a fast count, but the ref ignored them and the decision stood. Brookside was clearly upset as he left the ring, but Backlund had his arm around him and was overheard giving him words of encouragement.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, July 2nd Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Candido These two have formed quite a rivalry of late, on this night opening things up with a duel that went to a 15 minute time limit draw. Bryan Christopher vs. Cyrus The Virus These two had another skullduggerous battle, with Christopher bouncing back from his defeat a couple of days before to score the victory with the Chris Cross (full Nelson facebuster) Brian Pillman vs. Crash Holly Flyin' Brian had a fast paced bout with a game Crash Holly, hitting the Air Pillman for the win Jim Neidhart vs. Genichiro Tenryu The Anvil was able to take a lot of hard shots from Tenryu and kept coming back, but was unable to withstand a Power Bomb that gave the victory to the Japanese warrior The Midnight Express & Vic Steamboat vs. Cactus Jack, Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero As could be expected, this was a wild and crazy match, with both sides pulling out all the stops until Eddie tried to sneak attack Eaton, only to get blindsided by a Savate Kick to the head from Lane that turned the match in favor of Camp Cornette Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : The Cheetah Kid © vs. Robbie Brookside Robbie Brookside has been on a real tear of late, particularly since casting his lot with Mr. Bob Backlund and the Knights Templar. He has given some serious challenges to Cheetah Kid for the Light Heavyweight title, and this match was another intense bout. It looked like it would be another successful defense for the masked man when he got Brookside set up for a power bomb. Then, out of nowhere, Brookside countered and cinched in a small package. One … two … THREE!!! In a shocking result, Brookside had defeated the Cheetah Kid and become the new Light Heavyweight champion!

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , July 1st Pierre Carl Ouellette vs. Bob Holly Hot on the heels of the six man tag match the night before, PCO went at it with Bob Holly in another fired up effort, once again scoring the win with the Canonball Splash which was a very pleasing Canada Day opener for the Canadian fans. The Footloose vs. Joe & Dean Malenko These two teams have had a series of classic tag matches and this was no different, going to the Malenkos with Joe pinning Fuyuki with a German Suplex Billy Jack Haynes, Lou Perez & Brian Lee vs. Makhan Singh & Death Sentence (Jimmie Lee & the Hangman) Another down and dirty match between these two sides. Lee was able to pull out the win with the Prime Time Slam on the Hangman, but Billy Jack and Singh kept brawling long after the end of the match, having to be separated by security. Something has got to give between these two. Dustin Rhodes, The Southern Boys & The Force Of July vs. The Playboy Club (Buddy Rose, Scotty The Body, Mark Starr, Rod Price & Tommy Cairo) Hard on the heels of the Club's dismal showing at Deseret Storm, the Playboy was not very keen to get directly involved in this match, letting the rest of his men shoulder the brunt of the action. He was particularly keen on letting the men of Muscle Beach keep everyone away from him, which cost his team when the Force Of July hit a thundering double flying shoulder block on Rod Price to win the match. Rose was clearly displeased with Muscle Beach as they left the ring. Pacific Submission Title Match : Dean Severn © vs. Maxx Payne Having just been booted from the Neighborhood Of Evil, Payne seemed dejected as he came out to the ring and put in a rather listless effort in the early stages of the match. Severn was having none of it, peppering him with slaps and forearm shots and challenging Payne to come at him. This seemed to wake up Payne, who was much more aggressive for the rest of the match. Severn might have regretted waking the sleeping giant, taking some heavy blows and crushing throws, but weathered out the storm and locked in a half crab to force the submission. After the match, Severn helped Payne to his feet and shook his hand as a show of respect. Bret Hart vs. Cactus Jack The co-main event of the evening was a Canada Day special with Canadian favorite Bret Hart facing the always dangerous Cactus Jack. The two had a ferocious fight that went all over ringside as well as in the ring. Bret tried to put Cactus away with a piledriver, but like his old rival PCO in his recent match with "Diamond" Timothy Flowers, the man from Truth Or Consequences would not go down that easily, and it took a second piledriver to keep him down for good. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. Doug Furnas Dan Severn was out again in the corner of his Citadel colleague Doug Furnas, who gave Windham a serious challenge and landed some crushing power moves on the champ. Windham seemed to realize that Furnas meant business, battling back hard to defend his title. It was a momentary lapse in concentration that cost Furnas, pulling of a leapfrog only to turn around right into a lightning quick lariat from Windham to give the victory to the champ. After the match, Severn tried to be encouraging, but a sullen Furnas wanted nothing to do with him, walking on his own back to the locker room.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, June 30th Tournament Of Lions Round 1 : Brian Pillman vs. Art Barr Hot on the heels of Deseret Storm comes another new concept from Pacific Coast Wrestling. With so much talent on the PCW fighting to rise in the ranks, the Tournament Of Lions has been created to give them their own chance to shine. The Tournament will play out on TV over the next few weeks, with the ultimate winner being awarded a substantial prize of $100 000. Enough incentive for hungry young wrestlers to go all out, and the first two competitors certainly rose to the occasion. Pillman is coming off a strong run as the Light Heavyweight champion, and Barr is one half of the Golden State Tag Team champs, and they put on a match worthy of their championship caliber. It was a real nail biter of a match with many close calls, but Flyin' Brian was able to execute the Air Pillman on Barr to get the first win of the tournament. Tournament Of Lions Round 1 : Brian Christopher vs. Robbie Brookside The second match of the tournament featured two opponents more leaning towards subterfuge then the sweet science. The newly cutthroat Brookside was accompanied by his new leader Mr. Bob Backlund while Christopher was backed up by his mentor James E. Cornette, but they were both content to stay in their respective corners and leave the action to the men in the ring, confident their men had what it took to get the job done. Their confidence was justified as the two did everything in their respective emerging bags of tricks to outsmart each other, but it came down to a pure wrestling move when Christopher went for the Chris Cross (full Nelson facebuster) and Brookside was able to block and counter with the Northern Lights Suplex for the pinfall. An impressive win, but both competitors have a lot to be proud of. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests have all of PCW in an uproar … the Neighborhood Of Evil! The crowd rains down boos as Paul Bearer leads Barry Windham, The Undertaker, Curt Hennig, Makhan Singh, Jimmy Lee and the Hangman to the ring. The fans are especially hostile towards Hennig, who recently betrayed the Brigade to take up residence in the Neighborhood. Coss : Curt Hennig, I will get to you in a moment, but I want to talk with Paul Bearer first. You recently threw Maxx Payne out of the Neighborhood Of Evil in the middle of a match. He has been nothing but loyal to you , but you cast him aside like he was nothing. Why would you do that? Bearer : He is nothing! He could no longer get the job done and we no longer needed him. Payne? Everyone here can inflict pain better than he can! Who needs Payne when you can have … perfection? Hennig : That's right, Paul! The Brigade was doing nothing for me, and were no more than a bunch of stumbling rookies and muscleheads getting in my way. I was angry with Barry over the way he took the title from me, but he calmed me down and showed me that I needed to change my focus. I'm no longer going to worry what the fans or those goofballs in the Brigade think is best for me. I moved to the perfect Neighborhood and made the perfect choice for … Mr. Perfect! Tournament Of Lions Round 1: Toshiaki Kawada vs. Scotty The Body Both competitors are part of hot young tag teams, with Kawada having taking PCW by storm with the Footloose, while Scotty has gotten his career off to a roaring start by becoming Pacific Tag Team champ as part of the Sin City Superstars. Scotty seemed somewhat taken aback by Kawada's hard hitting Japanese style, but battle back with his own cunning and athleticism. The New Jersey native acquitted himself well until Kawada caught him flat footed with a spin kick that sent him to the mat. Kawada then hit a Power Bomb for the well earned victory. Tournament Of Champions : Lou Perez vs. Dean Malenko This was a technical showcase between two men who had been frequent contenders for the Pacific Submission Title. They had a gripping scientific showdown where it took all they had to escape the submission traps set by the other. Perez came ever so close to putting Malenko away for good but Dean's superior experience proved to be the deciding factor as he was able to block an attempted Indian Deathlock and work Perez into a Texas Cloverleaf, forcing the Ladies Man to tap out. Bret Hart, Owen Hart & Pierre Carl Ouellette vs. "Mean" Mike Miller, Bob Holly & Crash Holly Most of the matches this evening have been technically based, the closing match threw all of that out the window. The hatred between the Snowbirds and the Diamond Exchange has reached a fever pitch and that exploded in this match was an out of control brawl. The ref gave the wrestlers a fair amount of leeway but seemed at his wits end throughout. It wound up being PCO who was able to pull it out the win for the Snowbirds, hitting a Cannonball Splash on Crash Holly and scoring the pinfall.

Gary Hart is listed as being on the PCW roster but he was traded to WCW.
