  1. Dunno, really enjoyed most of the show. Moxley is the G1 = exciting. Takagi in the G1 = exciting. KENTA in the G1 = different (and maybe really cool). I thought Ibushi vs Naito was nowhere near as horrific as it's been portrayed. Well, except Das Bump, of course, which looked like Ibushi didn't exactly took it the way he intended. One of the grossest bump ever. Naito really did not take any hard neck bump, he really tuck his head on the tombstone. Ibushi on the other hand, really tried to bump on his head the most time possible. I don't care, I call this a great match, although Das Bump was the stupidest thing ever, especially on the eve of Misawa's death anniversary. But the story of the match itself, in all its sacrificial glory, was quite compelling. As the meme says : Ibushi : if you want to beat me, you're gonna have to kill me ! Naito : hold my beer. Now, I'd wish Ibushi would stop doing that and do tons of cool kicks and face palms and roll up counters and some cool flying instead. Please ? Naito still is a great, great pro-wrestler. His heeling was glorious and he looked legit deranged at times. Posing with his feet on the head of Ibushi was the cherry on the cake. Undercard had that really cool Takagi vs Kojima match, which was as good as a Koji match in 2019 can be and really flowed well for a veteran vs aspiring heavy goes. Ospreay vs Dragon Lee developed into a great match. Match of the night too. But I think Ospreay was kinda hurt after his amazingly strong MOTYC against Takagi. Loved most of Jericho vs Okada. Great match for a while but the ending kinda fell flat to me (for execution issues, not the fact it was basically a Bret Hart finish, which I like), although the reason was obvious. I really enjoy old-ass Jericho. Now against Tana ? Why the fuck not. They have to mix things up a bit. The crowd booing loudly at the end, not too sure if this was in kayfabe mode or if they got pissed by the bullshit. The Guerrillas of Destiny are beyond tired and the whole bullshit with Jado is already old. The Tongans could vanish from the promotion tomorrow honestly, although Tama is pretty good. The tag team scene is pretty dull. Me want Liger vs Suzuki. I'm a Taichi fan and he showed up again, although I didn't think it was as good as the latest Ishii match. Still very enjoyable, love Ishii getting Taichi out of his troll shell. Here's hoping Taichi gets in the G1 and goes more and more into Kawada mode. Excellent card overall.
  2. Interesting to know. Obviously since they flew the women, they probably had no idea either and thought they could get them on the show somehow. And yeah, Dubai and the other Emirates states are not Saudi Arabia. Huge difference here.
  3. If by "posting nonsense", you refer to the picture of Taker proudly wearing an SS T-shirt sometime in the early 90's or him signing off an autograph with the nazi code "88" on it (assuming this is real), well, that and being friends with the Harris Twins ain't exactly a good look. If anything, that joke and the ensuing discussion got me to see that, and it's pretty interesting.
  4. Come on, Dick Murdoch had awesome punches...
  5. Yeah, because we actually know what we're talking about. Plus we had legit French Nazis in legit SS squadrons when the gimmick was over, not pansy-ass sheet-wearing rednecks cosplaying while listening to old Pantera albums in a trailer in Asshole-of-the-world, Alabama...
  6. Well, that was more of a joke about Taker dropping Goldy on his head, ya know. And it was a funny joke, actually (and I don't even say this because like I said, I almost posted more or less the same joke, then forgot to do it).
  7. They need the allmighty TAG TEAM CHALLENGE SERIES !!!!! Bring Larry Z. back !
  8. Feels like a million years that Sami had that MOTYC match at NXT Takeover against the debuting Nakamura. Well, it *was* a zillion years ago too. Sami has so much more to offer than what he's been given wasting his time there...
  9. I almost made that joke earlier ! Thanks for that one. Free Sami Zayn already. AEW needs another Lex Luger for their debut.
  10. I see no issue with Ospreay thanking Meltz for a high rating. It's like a band sharing a good reviews of their album on Facebook or something, really. Let's not pretend Ospreay works in front of these japanese audiences thinking about how much snowflakes he's gonna get... Elgin on the other hand, is an idiot, and the way he works absolutely displays that mentality. Not to say he doesn't deliver to some extent (mechanically I mean, because he's able to do so many things), as showed by his big iMPACT matches, although he was *always* the lesser workers in those matches for this very reason, as he displays the charisma and intent of a vacuum cleaner most of the time, save a a few sequences. But really, modern pro-wrestling at its peak, is fucking awesome. People focusing on snowflakes are missing the point looking at very minor outside details. It's not like guys in the 80's passing "dirt sheets" in the locker room weren't happy when they would get good reviews, let's not kid ourselves... But again, that's a detail in the grand scheme of things. (still, Mike Oles was kinda the prophet of what is happening today to some extent. I know 99% of people reading this won't have any idea what or who I'm talking about, I'm a veteran geek of pro-wrestling forums, that's all...)
  11. You should watch Tandem if you can, from the same director. One of Rochefort's best role. But damn. Jean Rochefort said "tiger suplex".
  12. Too bad you can't understand, but I swear the GREAT Jean Rochefort just said "Tiger suplex" at one point. My life is complete. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XMw0YWUXVE
  13. Come on now. They are gonna fire him over that ? So he can go straight to AEW ? And even if there was no AEW, so fucking what ? Either you are an active supporter of a cause, either you aren't. You get fired from WWE ? Do something else. If you're afraid of even asking not to go because that could hurt your income, you've got shrunken little frozen balls actually. For all we know he could have twitted that while on the plane back to the good ol' US of A. And seriously, you think he was in any danger whatsoever ? Really ? Let's be real now. Yep. Which makes it even worse, because he did not have the balls to actually make a stand if the LGBT rights were that much important to him, but now, after going there *three times* and getting the blood money, he can safely stay home and play hero and feel good about himself. Hey, he can even give the money to some LGBT charity you know. Another thing. His tweet was Disney/Motivational Quote level bullshit too. What the fuck does LGBT rights have anything to do with "love" being for "everybody" ? This is such PR bullshit, without even typing the fucking LGBT letters. People are emprisoned, tortured and executed in Saudi Arabia because of their sexual preference. That's the reality of things. Making a stand is refusing to go and making public why you don't go, not making a lame-ass tweet that doesn't mention the horrible treatment LGBT are suffering in the country and make vague, rose-colored glass statement about having a "Happy Pride Month" after going there *three times* working for the entertainment/propaganda of the criminal regime who torture and kill LGBT people. Not only this is not having balls, this is actually be a fucking hypocrite. I'm sure those emprisonned and tortured right now in the jails of MBS feel so much better because a pro-wrestler who work for a company who funds homophobic president Trump made a tweet about #love and #HappyPrideMonth.
  14. I know I say it all the time, but I'm baffled by how they managed to make Roman "Cancer Survivor" Reigns a lesser deal than Roman "We don't want you as a top guy go fuck yourself" Reigns. I thought the emotion would not carry him forever, but it's not even that, they have actively made him a lesser deal than he was before when people rejected him. It's insane how badly they fucked this up.
  15. What was ever gonna happen to him ? Nothing. He posted a pic on his Twitter. Wow. What a hero. Now, refusing to go and posting "I'm not gonna go to this show and work for this regime because of their treatment of LGBT." on his Twitter, that would take some actual balls. LGBT's (and friends) doing a Gay Pride demonstration in Istanbul when it's actually *forbidden* and getting bashed by the police takes balls. This is having your cake and eating it. Pretty weak if you ask me. Don't go or shut the fuck up.
  16. The art department is just as awful as the writing apparently !
  17. Oh fuck me, the two iMPACT MVP against each other ? Also, it's pretty cool after hearing that Tessa interview on Jericho's podcast about how she really likes intergender matches that they go in that direction for a while with her (while holding off the inevitable blow-off against Taya).
  18. As long as they deliver the quality, I'm all for iMPACT throwing money away as long as Anthem is willing to do so. The episode of last week was one of the strongest TV show I've seen on a long time, with a terrific main event. I must give Elgin credit, he's got the charisma of a vacuum cleaner, but thus far he delivers in term of big TV matches (well, the fact he's working with top talent doesn't hurt). Tessa blasting Gilberti was fun. Moose & North vs the ECW Crew was cool, Sabu looked much better there than during Mania week-end. The guy can still punch better than most too. And damn I loved Eddie vs Kross, terrific garbage brawl with a classic nod-to-ECW ending which I didn't see coming but made all the sense in the world. So yeah, they announced Swann & Mack have signed long term deal, which is great news. I'm looking forward to Slammiversary again, which will mark one year of me getting back into the fold of current iMPACT, with delight most of the time.
  19. Sexual assault. Imagine Francine being pissed at "She's a crack whore!" chants... This is a debacle. If a fan is absolutely rude, you can have him throw out *by security*. Talent spitting on a fan and dragging his ass backstage to get lectured by the boyfriend(s ?) is a recipe for disaster.
  20. The Contra angle was pretty crappy and poor taste. Mediocre show too, with only Pillman vs Hamerstone being a good little match, but Hamerstone is kinda dull as dirt as a character (and that include his look). Teddy Hart vs Jimmy Havoc was yet another bad Havoc match that never went anywhere and with Havoc big spots looking like crap. If there's one guy I'm not looking forward to see in AEW, that's him. Give me the next Salina produced show with a bunch of luchadors & Low-Ki and less Gringo Loco too.
  21. Bliss vs Natalya was the best thing tonight, easily.
  22. Ganso jackhammer. Karma is a bitch, ya know... Should have retired years ago. Should have not come back to suck some of that blood money. "La vieillesse est un naufrage". Charles de Gaulle.
  23. Never saw such a large arabic crowd chant a jewish name in a non-hostile fashion. WWE bringing people together after all... (DISCLAIMER : that's a JOKE, people (it's sad I have to point it out, but...))
  24. He had Ali in his name though, so the WWE office probably thought he was arabic or something back then... Anyway, I was more thinking of "That guy will never win anything anywhere else in the actual roster.".
  25. It's akin to Tiger Ali Singh winning the Koweit Cup in 97...
