Well, I for one think Alexa Bliss is a super solid worker at worst, and actually really good. That's also the huge difference between her and the IIconics. Their act is more polished than Sasha & Bailey together, sure. But their act is undercard comedy goofs. And really, Sasha & Bailey don't really need an "act", they are two strong individual acts. Well, should be still, but their booking has been horrendous last year. The tag team titles booking has been nothing short of a disaster anyway, with only a bunch of multi-women matches involving a bunch of terrible workers on PPV instead of actual hot tag-team matches.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
El-P replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I'm kinda surprised they did not adress at all the racism issue (the stuff he said to Mark Henry) during the Micheal Hayes episode. Nor the fact he's not a favourite of Stephy & HHH. Well, not that surprised. But it's not like there was much to say about Hayes in WWE unless you want to get deep into the creative process of the 00's, which they did not do. -
I guess the current way of looking at things is : _fans who criticize WWE are idiots who should accept whatever they are fed _employ independant contractors who aren't happy with the WWE are crybabies and marks and should accept whatever they are told Yeah, we're really deep into the "Brand" era, where people just brainlessly defend a brand they like. The next phase of übercapitalism where brand > brain.

I dunno, everytime I hear the HTM argument about a shit worker getting a title, it's like... It was 30 years ago. In a very different context, for a very, very different audience. Yeah, the IIconics can be kinda funny, especially Billie Kay, but they are just goofs and portrayed as such. Take the Beautiful People in TNA in the late 00's. Angelina Love was a solid enough worker who could kick a girl in the face in make it look good. Velvet Skye was never very good at all in-ring, but she had the heel charisma, she was unbearable, rubbing her crotch on the ropes, striking stripper poses and generally being a complete annoyance, you'd beg for Amazing Kong or ODB to slap the fuck out of the bitch and powerbomb her into oblivion. The IIconics, they come off as minor goofballs. As far as Sasha taking herself too seriously, it's funny how people are never happy with anything. Lesnar not giving a fuck is not good. Sasha giving too much fuck is not good. I dunno, I'm gonna use the good-old "you've never been inside the ring" argument on this one. It's her life passion, she's been at times very good at it, she also has the charisma of a top name. Yeah, maybe she's right to give a fuck. Most of the best guys in pro-wrestling history probably gave a fuck. It's nothing new how WWE can suck the life out of people.

IIconics are a joke. Both are awful in the ring (Peyton being the worse of the two) and are a comedy act. Putting the belts of them so early without Bailey and Sasha getting some lenghty reign does make the brand new revolutionnary title look like an undercard comedy prop no one should care about indeed, two months after its creation. So really, let's no try to pretend Meltz is calling them bad because he's hot at Peyton Royce for this silly matter last year.

Yeah, but that makes it even funnier to me. As of right now, AEW is still a fantasy as a company (well, not really as it does exist, but you know what I mean), so it can only be the greatest thing ever, still.

The highlight of Wrestlecon US vs the World show, which had tons of good matches but nothing special (Cage vs Tanaka was very good though) was easily Ethan Page trolling MJF by singing "You are my sunshine" and having the crowd actually sing instead of clapping when he was in a hold. "Don't clap ! Sing for me !". Terrific stuff.

Agreed Linda & Hall came off really good in the Savage & Liz episode. A lot lighter in tone until the last five minutes, with maybe too much stuff talking about actual pro-wrestling angles. This is not exactly what we're here for. But anyway, this struck me as a bitter story in the end.

Yeah, he's grumpy as fuck. Doesn't make the idea of him announcing any better to me.
-
A total mess. Would love to see Sasha quit and go to AEW (damn, aren't we talking like it's 1997 again ? ).
-
The question is, will JR shit on Meltz too.
-
Wait. So, Vince fired the writer who helped Bret put together his HOF speech because he mentioned his name ? Really ? What the fuck are these people smoking ?
-
Agreed. Bitch Heel Sex Goddess Steph doing Sherry tribute spots is by far her best role. When I said it was better that way (without her), I was thinking about the main event. Mother Hen Steph is annoying as hell.

Forgot about that one. Yeah, awesome match. That Bandido spot was insane. The Fenix vs Pentagon short match from Wrestlecon was like the best 5 mn spotfest you could wish for.
-
Yeah, because he knows people were gonna be excited with his 49 year olf roided ass going 30 minutes doing garbage spots at a snail pace, that would make up for Rey vs Joe getting 10 seconds. He knows what the audience want, that guy, after all, he's the God of NXT and all. You know what strikes me now ? Stephy wasn't to be seen anywhere, and no one mentionned it. Hey, better that way, but still, it was kinda surprising.

I watched the Brody one. Mostly good stuff, although I'm not a fan at all of the directing. Music all the time is uneccessary, the thing never breathes. The whole "re-enactment" thing is kinda cheesy. As far as content, nothing new if you heard all those interviews for years. Atlas was really trying a bit too hard to put himself over. I would have liked to hear Savio again, a native perspective would have been welcome (I remember him basically saying Colon & Jovica were more to blame than Gonzalez as he thought they pushed him to do it). Watching those extracts of Colon in that shitty RF video, I remember how much of a dirtbag he came off like. "I believe in the law.". And this guy got the HOF treatment too… Anyway. The rest of the series sure will be interesting.

Yeah, I'm not the nostalgic kind of guy, but I admit I would mark out so bad if they recapture a bit of the feel/aesthetics of those shows. Loved Nitro back then.

Poetic justice. Billionnaire Khan videos incoming...

And then they hurt Braun. Just because. Remember when the guy was like the hottest thing in the company. See also : Rusev. Damn...

Hire Tony Schiavone already !!!!! That Fyre Festival teaser parody was quite funny too.

More Twitter drama with idiots apparently. Wait. Twitter, basically.
