  1. How do you like Volk Han ?
  2. Call 1-900-909-9900, Mean Gene has the scoop about what Hulk Hogan said on that private video of his. Now can you dig that, n... sucka !!!! In all seriousness though. Wow. These people will exploit anything...
  3. Well, Mankind from 96 to 98 to me is much better in every aspect (character, work, matches, angles) than what came afterward. The fact he loves Kane so much is a mystery though...
  4. Interesting how Teddy Hart vs Pentagon Jr. was made more compelling because of its imperfections, much like an old Sabu match. The fact a Candian Destroyer on the apron followed by another Canadian Destroyer didn't lead to the finish reminded me it was 2019 and not 2006 anymore. People bitch, but by 2000, a DDT was not a finish either except if your name was Raven, and a Cutter is now a transition move, basically, much like the vertical suplex wasn't a finisher anymore in 1986. Anyway, I enjoyed the fact Teddy "Morrissey" Hart really put emphasis on those two spots in his selling afterward. He's always deliberate, kinda like Muto, but here he really looked out of it at points, like he got concussed by double piledrivers. When he screwed up his spot-that-he does, I liked the fact he reacted immediately the best he could and moved to something else, much like when he kinda slipped on the rope to do his quebrada afterward, it looks like he said "fuck it" and only went to the second rope instead of the third. The screw ups and the constant selling of the head really made it compelling to me. Nice false finish in a small package kinda deal, and since he's a Hart I bought it could be the end. Nice match. (well maybe he *was* concussed, in which case it was even more a Sabu match than I imagined) ((enjoyed the fact DBS Jr. looks like a pimp in MLW, so different from his NJ looks. The Hart Foundation have a nice thing going on, I got accustomed to Pillman Jr. now that he tweaked his look a bit. Their theme is cool and smooth as hell too.))
  5. NJPW can't really cut ties with ROH at this point anyway with the MSG show coming up.
  6. Well, there's that legendary meeting with Eric telling basically "If anyone's unhappy, they can walk out the door and we will grant them their release." > Raven stands up and leaves the room. I also find peculiar than "hip and modern" Bischoff didn't get the Raven character at all while "old and dated" Schiavone loved it. Ok, no Piper episode for me then, thanks.
  7. Right, things have definitely changed with the collapse of every big company save for NJPW. Which is why I used past tense. Ishii is clearly the most fascinating one of the bunch though, I remember him in WAR shows way back then. Who would have thought ?
  8. Two words : Saudi deal. The bad taste just won't go away yet. I guess I'd like to check out the Rumble "live" if only because it's always fun interacting on the board, and I'm interested in watching the top women matches, whatever they are (as long as Nia Jaxx ain't involved). And NXT has got some names I'm interested in because I used to follow them elsewhere. Anyway, that's not the right topic for this. As far as NJ goes, yes, Naito vs Taichi really appeals to me. I wouldn't be surprised these would be really fucking good and that their styles wouldn't clash (see what I did there) like with Suzuki last year.
  9. Agreed. There has always been the notion of leaving abroad and coming back = bigger star in Japan, either WWE or any other company. On 205 live, where it means jackshit. KUSHIDA is a legit star in NJ, the biggest junior name of his generation. Yeah, he'll maybe have good matches in a context where nothing matters and no one care about this stuff. As far as making good money, hopefully for him because I doubt the 205 Live guys are making as much as he does in NJ now (well, maybe they do and WWE is just throwing all that Saudi money through the windows). More power to him like I said. I just won't see him work again and if I do, it would be in a context I can't stand, so…
  10. Understood, but Japan pro-wrestling never really worked that way. Guys used to spend their entire career in their own promotion. Maybe switched to another one for a while, but mostly it was a captive roster. And frankly, I'm speaking from a selfish point of view. I enjoy KUSHIDA a lot. KUSHIDA in WWE is gonna get GranMetalliked the fuck out. At best he's gonna be Tajiri. So there. KUSHIDA working iMPACT would be more interesting to me, him against Johnny, Cage, the lucha bros, Callihan, yeah, I can get behind that. The "WWE effect" to me is ridiculous, there's no way KUSHIDA simply working WWE should make him a bigger star than he was before to the eyes of the japanese audience. Oh, good for him I guess for trying his hand at something else. I just won't be able to enjoy his work, since I also don't want to watch WWE for many reasons. (if Omega shows up at the Rumble, it will be a super disappointing news to me)
  11. Yep, glad I did, and the pimping posts including yours on this thread have really motivated me to do so. Of course at times you can just feel Eric is full of shit, but that's the name of the game. Also, there are occurence of him getting really worked up over something for some reasons, which doesn't seem warranted. Him going off on the Raven vs Saturn match, if Raven loses he dispatches the Flock, came off kinda odd to me. How is that stip stupider than most pro-wrestling stips anyway ? He also doesn't get Raven at all, so fuck him for that. On the same show, he was praising the hell out of a mediocre Dean Malenko vs Curt Hennig match, to the point he sounded like Cornette at times with all the "garbage wrestling be garbage, Hennig is the best performer of these last 30 years", when actually Hennig in 98 was probably one of the worst performer in WCW. Odd stuff. I'm not really eager to hear the Missy stuff either. But yeah, overall, glad I did check the show, although I'm cherry picking. Not sure I want to listen to the portray episodes (Piper maybe), as those have been mostly boring/awful on Prichard's podcast lately.
  12. Omega leaving NJPW sucks. Hope he's going the AEW route at least. Watch Kushida be wasted as all hell in WWE.
  13. From the New Year Dash show, I really want to see Ishii vs Nagata & Naito vs Taichi. Kushida doing jobs left and right doesn't look good considering the rumours. The Bullet Club is like nWo B-team at this point. I'd still want more Chase Owens though. White vs Tanahashi should be interesting in showing how far White has got in a year, but White has no business getting the IWGP title for now.
  14. This, a billion times. There's no "all" to handle. Just watch whatever floats your boat. With iMPACT, MLW, the big NJPW shows and maybe LU if it (hopefully) comes back, that'll probably make my full schedule. I'd be tempted to watch some WWE big shows in 2019 for a few women alone (although Daniel Bryan vs Aj Styles would be fun), but the terrible taste of the Saudi shows still tempers with that idea a whole lot (not to mention the regular awfullness of the product in general, which would make it a "watch a great match if it happens and nothing more" kinda deal, and that's not what I'm after these days, I'd like to follow week to week). When AEW becomes a thing, that'll be on my schedule as well.
  15. Well, if you would have taken 15 seconds to actually read the rest of my post (which is a lot less than a 15 mn Youtube video), you could see I am absolutely not trolling. You however, at this stage, make no effort to even try to listen or comprehend what is being said to you. I never exactly understood why you were banned the first time around. I kinda get it now...
  16. An excuse for what exactly ? I don't feel the need to watch it like I don't need to watch most stuff out there. I don't spend my whole day watching pro-wrestling (and I have spent wayyyyyy too much time watching pro-wrestling these last three years, with my old-school TNA "project" which had its own twisted reasons). Now, with me being interested by the new company and the developements to come, there's a good chance I might watch it this year. I already watch MLW Fusion on Youtube, so there's that. Social media in general, yeah, I mostly despise and think they are fucking up people's minds even more than before. As far as the forum goes, it's been kinda sad at points lately (I mean in the last few months), but I'd rather not go into this, really.
  17. I would totally dig a Tessa vs Gail match, if only for Gail to get her due in 2019 (#womenevolution my ass). Yeah, I was thinking about how the Lucha Bros would probably be a hot item for AEW and WWE (just to fuck with the other companies, since you know they'll have zero notion how to use them) at some point. Well, if iMPACT goes away finally, it will be a bad thing, but at least they'd leave on a high note. What about MLW ? The Lucha Bros arguably are the hottest names they got too. Not to mention the eventual 5th season of LU. I'd hate to see the Dark Fenix saga not get a closure.
  18. I don't think that's their business plan at all. That's just something dumb someone said on this thread. Like I said, I did not need to watch countless hours of Being the Elite to enjoy the hell out of All In. The TV deal is what matters for AEW. The rest is cherry on the cake and fan service.
  19. The younger audience watch shit on Youtube, people.
  20. You don't say. First I simply didn't understand what was happening ! I hope the WWE rumours about KUSHIDA don't end up being true. What a waste of talent to see this guy Gran Metalliked in the pits of 205Live hell of irrelevance. Two Dome shows sounds insane. With all the taks about should WM be done over two days, now NJPW is actually doing it. Fuck, what if I went to celebrate 30 years of being a pro-wrestling fan ? Can't wait to see the angles from today's show giving hints of the new directions for 2019.
  21. Best NJ Dome show I've ever seen. Ibushi vs Ospreay was insane. MOTYC. NO wonder they put it in the opening, to distance it from the later big matches. ZSJ vs Ishii was great and showed again it doesn't take 30 minutes to reach greatness. Okada vs White was great and yet still left you wanting for more. Loved Okada going back to the classic look and theme song, and failing. Jericho vs Naito was great, probably MOTYC. Jericho is gonna fee sore as hell. Terrific brawl. Tanahashi vs Omega was a classic. MOTYC. I wouldn't put it exactly at the same level as Omega vs Okada III (then again, maybe nothing ever will), but it was absolutely brillant. The rest of the card was wonderfully paced, with the very good three-ways to give you a breather while still keeping the pace up. Cody vs Robinson was really good too, loved the gaga with Brandi early on, then it went into a simple bomb exchange, which was efficient. The only one match that may have underacheived a bit was Kushida vs Ishimori, very good nonetheless (and loved the intro for Kushida), but I was excepting a bit more. The pre-show gauntlet was tons of fun. Great, great show.
  22. Maybe oddly, but the match I look forward the most on this is Moose vs Eddie Edwards. As an old ECW fan, Eli Drake vs Abyss could appeal to me, especially if we get another Raven cameo (although I guess it was all for the build). Tessa vs Taya should be good if they beat the shit out of each others, I guess Gail will either be a factor in Tessa lose the belt or Taya fail again. The main event should be a decent LU match, but I don't expect anything special, these two needs a guy to structure a match to get to their best. The Ultimate X has an interesting cast of B-characters. Ethan Page should be interesting in this setting. LAX vs Lucha Brothers could still the show in term of sheer spectacle. Yeah, nice card on paper.
  23. Ok. When the fuck did I say I was in any kind of loop anyway ? My only point was this : don't talk the fuck down to someone who simply asks about who Britt Baker is. I have watched All In, I did not remember about her. I have watched a bunch of Being the Elite on Youtube, I don't remember her being any kind of important feature on the show. End of story. When did I make that point exactly ? Oh yeah, I never did. The whole "Twitter sucks" point I made was not pointed at you personally, it was a broader comment about this thread degenerating about a bunch of names, some of same probably totally irrelevant, of people on Twitter arguing about being better sources than the other one and shit. (I personally think Twitter should be erased from the planet, it's obviously a very, very bad thing for the human psyche)
  24. This quote almost saves this thread. (and seconded on Bix's articles)
  25. The best one was still "You can't answer to my claims about Ric Flair if you haven't listened to my twelve 4hours podcasts." though..
