  1. Yep. This is where everything went wrong for WCW. From there it was a slow downward spiral.
  2. One of the all-time memorable moment on Nitro. Savage takes Nitro hostage, looking like the coolest mofo bad ass ever, and the crowd is going crazy for each and every moves he makes. Sting coming down the rafters and playing mind games was the icing on the cake. These two playing phantoms of Nitro for a while was very intriguing, and I agree Savage finally joigning the nWo without much of a factor for a change of heart looks like a disapointing pay-off after this awesome angle.
  3. Come on. He can't defend his wife against *one* guy ? Whom he already beat ? This entire angle is rotten from start to finish.
  4. To be fair, Austin always used cool as shit vehicules that fit his image. If Daniel Bryan's character is so uncool that as the world champion he's using a basic rental car, well, I agree there is some issue here. But it's a minor detail compared to the fact they portrayed the babyface champ as running away in panic from a guy whom he already beat. Godawful booking (and godawful segment in idea, writing and execution).

We're in 2014 and they are still running godawful Z-movies inspired angles with Kane. This was right out of WCW 1999, and I know what I'm talking about. Just awful stuff. Adam Rose's entrance was fun, especially with Dutch (sorry, can't call this guy Zeb) caught in the middle. Hopefully for him he doesn't turn into Fandango though.
  6. Lawler is even more useless than Heenan was in WCW. Lecherous old man Lawler was annoying as hell during the Attitude Era, but Corporate HoF Lawler is just not even there anymore.
  7. Agreed. I love Austin, but he doesn't get a free pass from me on this matter. And he should be able to adress it.
  8. Debra did talk about it in her shoot interview with RF, didn't she ?
  9. Although the match was about as appealing as such a thing when I think about it.
  10. I don't. Sorry about that. I've replaced it by "clusterfuck" in my last post.
  11. True. But Tough Enough still is totally unnecessary. The last winner really made an impact… And only Steve Ausin made it fun to watch.
  12. Lana's ASSSSSSS. And legs. Yep. That's it really. Am I the only one who thought the reference to Vlad Putin was of extremely poor taste with what has been happening in the last few months ? I mean really. Evolution doing the job in the midcard after a fun match = good. The two main events = drizzling shit. A 30 minutes Kane match, dragging Daniel Bryan way way down. And that clusterfuck that is Cena vs Bray Wyatt, with one of the most absurd finish I've ever seen in pro-wrestling (and that's saying something). Not only was the match boring, but that finish was just out of a terrible horror Z-movie. This feud is rotten. (and this is neither here nor there, but yes, the Attitude Era post-Summerslam 98 was godawful. The fact that it drew big ratings doesn't mean shit to me, the product in 99 was the worst it's ever been.)
  13. Well, I enjoyed the last episode with Bolin for once. And Corny's rant on Cliven Bundy and such was highly entertaining to me.
  14. Exactly what I was thinking about. Amazing phantom bump in both cases.

Sullivan is still a fascinating mind. The "No excuse" T-shirt idea is glorious.
  16. Nevermind. (was gonna say Bryan vs Lesnar, but he doesn't qualify)
  17. It's a sad state of affair when the first two names that come up for a dream match are two 50 year old guys, one of which who retired ten years ago. I don't get why Austin's name is dropped each year 6 months before Mania. I don't get the feeling he would ever do one last match, and I'm pretty damn sure he really shouldn't.
  18. Taker vs Cena I guess. But it's too late. I can't see any other at this point.
  19. Off the top of my head : Halloween Havoc 96 Starrcade 96 Spring Stampede 97 Bash at the Beach 97 Great American Bash 97
  20. I also learned quite a bit of the US geography, although I never really figured out where parts unknown was.

Strongly disagree. He was an attraction from the get go. The crowds of children were scared shitless. The chokeslam. The walk on the ropes. The flying clothesline. The salute to the urn. The tombstone. The zombi sit-up. The pale look. It was unique and unheard of as a package. Of course it helped that Mark Callaway was amazing and found himself in this gimmick. But despite the shitty matches for a good 5 to 6 years, Taker was special very quickly.
  22. Ah ah ! Excellent (en français dans le texte). It's actually a French word. It seems that we all learn quite a bit of vocabulary. Well, I for one maintained and improved my English comprehension level when I was in college and not studying English anymore by watching Raw and Nitro in English. And since French announcer Guy Hauray was very eloquent, I learned a few words thanks to him too. I can still remember hearing "intrinsèque" for the very first time during a Haku squash in 1990. Not the kind of word a 14 years old kid hears every day.
  23. Sleazy-E in all its glory. Gotta love the "I'll get over it" bit. Liz still isn't happy to be with the nWo. I guess she wouldn't be until Savage would come back and joign them (which would make both of them kinda look like bitches in a way).
  24. One year before, Hulk Hogan was unbearable. And at this point, Hollywood Hogan is just great. He's basically playing bitch here like nobody's business. The Robin Hood story is classic pro-wrestling carny shit. Pretty hilarious.

I watched a bunch of old Kevin Sullivan stuff not so long ago, and despite what would pass from corny "satanic" gibberish today, the point of the whole thing was still basic like "I'm a sick bastard and I'm going to fuck you up Blackack Mulligan, you and your kids.". Simple stuff.
