  1. Still sounds like it's worth checking out. Aw man, that wasn't cool. Here I come home after a hard day at work, thinking I'm going to watch some hidden gem that you've dug up, and no.

    Tajiri!

I know Eddy turned on Tajiri at some point. Didn't he slam him on one of his lowriders or something? Did they ever have a blowoff match?
  4. We're considering the ECW Title a World title now? Really? He's a former WWE champ. Ah, nevermind...I see you're talking about Zeke.
  5. My wife works for the city in a PR capacity here in Louisville. She was in on a "virtual chat" with the Mayor a few months back. Someone wrote in proposing the city try to get Wrestlemania. She was a bit embarrassed to have to point out to the Mayor and the city supervisors that it is actually a big deal for a city to host.
  6. Who's been complaining?
  7. Next week, the Rock will run through all his shit, say Cena has a vagina, do his weird practiced smile, and wash, rinse, repeat for another month+. Between that and the laziness of a battle royal to name Punk's challenger, they're really trying to make me not order WM.
  8. I'm not a huge HHH hater or anything, but his whole reasoning for not wrestling Undertaker has basically come down to, "I would feel bad being the guy to end the streak." I don't know. Just something very condescending about the whole thing.
  9. Wasn't Bret the first dude who called out McMahon for being the owner of the company. I think people tend to underrate his promo after a steel-cage match on Raw (I think it was Raw?) where he yelled at McMahon and dropped a "bullshit" on tv. To me, that's always been the start of the "Attitude Era". It was the first thing that caught my attention that they were maybe going in a new direction. So, maybe Vince feuds with Bret to start the Mr. McMahon character.
  10. That sort of thinking still exists in a lot of media. Hence the "token" black character. I know that in television news, there's an idea that you need to diversify with your reporter and anchor staff. You don't want to have "too many" of a given race, though. We had two Asian girls on our staff (one Chinese, one Korean) and viewers always got them mixed up. Now, I do work in Kentucky, but it's still a little ridiculous. It's something that no news director would come right out and say, but it plays into their hiring.
  11. ! Lambchop video starring Wolfie D and some dude doing a Brody impersonation. Judging by the credits, looks like it was filmed at a Tony Falk-promoted show. I really dig it.
  12. We've been doing a lot of "what if..." lately, but this made me think of another. Would HHH have risen to where he is if Montreal hadn't happened? To me, it seems his suggestion of "screwing" Bret was his first power play (for lack of a better term). Hell, if Bret and Vince don't have a falling out, Bret might be a high front-office guy.
  13. Somone should've done a "Longest Yard"-type movie with that group of guys in the late-70's/early-80's.
  14. Not to speak for Loss, but I think he'd like to see it as something that's not weird. Just, the guy is gay. He's a wrestler by profession, who is a homosexual. Kinda like if you were an accountant. If there was a gay guy who worked in your office, would he be a gay accountant? He'd just be an accountant.
  15. I mentioned this play in the Comments That Don't Warrant thread. The gist of the plot is trying to get a wrestling promoter to present an Indian character as something other than an A-rab or mystic, etc. There's some funny stuff with the Indian guy ending up a terrorist and a Puerto Rican from Brooklyn ending up a bandolier and sombrero wearing Mexican.
  16. I never realized Verne had a shot at Mr. T. Wow. He really was set in his ways. I know that Hogan and T never shared a scene in Rocky. I just figured being in the same movie made the connection easier.
  17. To keep this going a bit, who would that have been? Let's say Sarge doesn't get the years-long reign Hogan got. Who beats him? Orndorff? Piper? Kinda interesting to think about that, too.
  18. If Vince goes with Slaughter, that probably cuts out a lot of the mainstream exposure they got. I mean, besides the whole Rock 'n' Wrestling thing, the Mr. T stuff was what really brought the media calling. Wasn't Hogan tight with T from Rocky? Then you have to wonder if Hogan goes back to the AWA. Does he take Mr. T with him? If so, maybe Verne gets a few more good years. I gotta think that no matter who Vince used (if not Hogan), wrestling doesn't blow up like it did. Hogan was just that push that got the ball rolling.
  19. Went to this play last night. Pretty amazing show. If it comes 'round your area, be sure to check it out. It was obviously written by someone who's a HUGE wrestling geek.
  20. I think it's on the latest Schneider Comp.
  21. It's better than "The Big Nasty,' which was his original nickname. Wasn't there a rumor he was going to be Titan? (As in, Titan Sports)
  22. They didn't script a storyline that made him seem like he was in the running though. Compare this to say Chris Benoit winning the Rumble in 2004 and it's like night and day. Who did get a storyline, though? Pretty much everyone this year was "blah blah blah oh BTW I'm in the Rumble." I think that was a lot of the problem with the Rumble this year. There was really no over-arching storyline. There were some fun moments (Kofi's handstand, Socko vs. The Cobra), but no story within the Rumble itself. A guy would enter, be in a while, maybe eliminate someone else, and then get eliminated. There was no Diesel/Kane thing where someone goes on a tear. No one lasting for a really long time (Miz kinda did, but then just got tossed to little fanfare). It was just kinda there. I don't order PPV's very often. I hate it when I finally do, and it all seems like a setup for the next nights Raw.
  23. Yeah, they need to get something going with Sheamus. He was pretty hot when he went face, but has kinda been in a holding pattern for a few months. It was a really odd Rumble. Seems like they had a bunch of dudes they could've used in it, but didn't. Hacksaw, Road Dogg, all three announcers...didn't seem like they needed all of those guys.
  24. Big star in Hawaii. Wouldn't most fans today know him more for being a guy who literally held a bunch of belts?
