Loss Posted December 24, 2010 Author Report Posted December 24, 2010 One of the better juniors matches on Nitro. Liger and Malenko work well together, and the crowd got really involved. Liger always got over well in the U.S. Quote
El-P Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 I am so bored with Dean Malenko at this point. These kind of match just doesn't do much for me anymore, and I don't think it's that good anyway. It's a sprint with cool looking moves and counters. I though Regal & Sting had a much better match on the same show. Quote
PeteF3 Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 This threatens to go off the rails when the match gets overshadowed by the arrival of Flair, Liz, and Woman to the "VIP area," but the production recovers to re-focus on the two athletes in the ring. Quick sprint in that classic Nitro style, but a good one with a few near-falls that had me biting. Quote
soup23 Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 Liger brought out his black suit for this appearance. This was better than the Nitro debut match. Flair is doing a weird gimmick now where he is eating in a fine area with nice table settings while the match is going on. Malenko and Liger mesh well together but never had a classic match against each other. This really didn't have the time to be that but felt more energetic and inspired compared to their previous efforts. **1/2 Quote
tim Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 A classic match type: Two great wrestlers have a very good, short match on Nitro while the commentary is distracted by unrelated angles. Ric coming out to live the high life on Savage's money was funny though. Good match especially toward the end, the top rope gutbuster looked great. Quote
dawho5 Posted December 13, 2024 Report Posted December 13, 2024 If I didn't already know they would be going to commercial and having some other more important thing happening just based on the workers involved I would have been irritated. Luckily I've seen a few Nitros in my time and enjoyed the match for what it was. A good sprint between two guys who can really go. Wish Liger had been more involved on Nitro over time, but I get they probably needed him in NJPW. Quote
