Loss Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 This is Regal's U.S. debut! Watts had the idea to bring him in as a tough guy babyface, which is interesting. If you look at who Watts brought in after getting past some retreads early on -- Regal, Benoit, Scorpio, Van Dam -- and look at the guys already around who were starting to get pushed harder -- Austin, Pillman, Douglas, Cactus -- this is a guy who didn't come in knowing who the best young talents were, but he figured it out quickly. He had a terrible last part of 1992, but with him bringing in guys like this and luring Flair back, I'm curious what would have happened with another 6-12 months of time. It may have suffered the same end fate, but he may have been able to rebuild. Quote
benj Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Short and to the point, neat to see the Regal tv debut. Quote
El-P Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 I never knew Watts brought in Regal as a straight face. Odd to see. I agree things looked much better in early 1993, the TV was getting really good again. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 Regal isn't the full British type regal guy in this. WCW is the only place to be for him. Quote
PeteF3 Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Regal's a humble babyface but he still isn't using his genuine accent. He doesn't have much to say yet, but this is an interesting footnote. Quote
WingedEagle Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Regal debuts! He's been in England for 9 years and debuts next week. It's a while until we see him in-ring. Quote
soup23 Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Wow Regal is a young chap here. Funny to see him as a babyface too talking about the best talent in the world is in WCW. Quote
garretta Posted June 10, 2016 Report Posted June 10, 2016 Not much to say here, except that I'm looking forward to seeing Regal's metamorphosis. Quote
