Short match, but a cool display of what Joe Malenko can do. Galdava looks pretty good too.

This felt like exhibition like Robinson/Bock was.

I thought this was a pretty good mat exhibition. With Galdava as the wrestler with some cool takes downs, but lacked the shooter background. While Malenko can take it to the mat he shoots for submissions. A fun little bout.

This is okay but I'm kind of glad it was as short as it was. Malenko takes it with a submission that I recognize out of FirePro but can barely describe.

Pretty fast, smooth shoot style mat work. Malenko finishes with a cool pretzel-type submission. Good example of the style.

I wondered if I'd read about the wrong match, because to me it looked like Galdava was in control for the whole bout. At the end, I realized that I'd been confusing these two guys the whole way!

 

At any rate, Gatdava certainly seemed outclassed here. This was as close to a squash as is possible in shootstyle. No, I don't know what to call the hold that got the submission either.

Cool suplexes and takedowns from Galdava but the matwork was a little too dry for my tastes. Joe looked decent and the finish was pretty neat but yeah, kind of a nothing match.

Really cool finish with some slick matwork by Joe.  Galdava used his size advantage well, but Malenko outclassed him by a long way on the mat.
