Loss
Talk about it here.
Ricky Jackson
One of my great regrets as a wrestling fan is failing to attend this card even though I lived in Calgary at the time. I know I've seen clips of the show (maybe only when they aired on the local news), but does anyone know if there is any good footage of this match and card in full out there? Loss
Yes, it was pro shot and released either in full or close to it.
Ricky Jackson
Good. Honestly, I think I'm more interested in seeing the Bad Company vs Funks (w/Mike Shaw!!!) match from that show.
Frankensteiner
The pro-shot version is clipped, but the gaps can be filled with handheld copy. I need to rewatch this but I found it pretty boring and pedestrian. There didn't seem to be much effort.
Loss
It was good, but I was hoping for a hidden gem, thinking this may be some lost classic on par with the PPV match. It wasn't to be, but I still liked this quite a bit. Pretty high end for a house show match, but would be pretty disappointing on a big show. Bret going through the motions could still be fun. jdw
I wonder how much they were "saving" themselves for the PPV a couple of nights later... not wanting to get hurt or take too much in terms of risks. Don't recall if Bret talked about it in his book? John
Tim Evans
What I got out of this was Ed Whalen is just awful. Was this one of the many "rebirths" of Stampede Wrestling?
Bix
What I got out of this was Ed Whalen is just awful. Was this one of the many "rebirths" of Stampede Wrestling? No, it was a one-off show.
Zenjo
What I got out of this was Ed Whalen is just awful. Was this one of the many "rebirths" of Stampede Wrestling? The best/worst line I've heard from him is: "Tsk tsk. Boys and girls, Rad Radford just told the referee a big fib!" What made it even weirder was that he said tsk tsk as words rather than sounds. I've never heard anyone else do that.
PeteF3
The most notable thing about this show would be Rad Radford wrestling Chris Benoit, in an unprecedented WWF vs. WCW match. This isn't anything special, but Bret's command of the basics is so strong and chemistry with Davey Boy so good that even half-speed Bret vs. Davey Boy is still fairly enjoyable.
