Larry does one of his typically strong intellectual promos. It works as a babyface promo, and he manages to give an American history lesson, put over the Regal match and kiss up to Ted Turner all at once. One of the best interviews of the year!

USA! USA! Larry puts over the country and Ted Turner. Larry was good here as his promo style is unique but enjoyable.

Larry cuts a really awesome promo on American history, Ted Turner, and putting over his match with Regal at Slamboree. One hell of a promo.

I was not as crazy about this as everyone else. The history lesson was ok but seemed sort of vague in the description. The fire Larry showed afterwards was better.

Agreed, I'm not that fond of the American histosy part, but the latter half was really good.

Goddamn, fuck Lex Luger. The WWF should have given the Larryland Express, Made in the USA push to this guy, the Real Z-Man. That would have been money. Zbyszko as an antihero babyface is spectacular, and his jingoism is about 900% more authentic-sounding than anything the WWF has done to this point.

Washington put Cornwallis in the abdominal stretch! I don't really understand how you could not like this promo.

 

I think the reason Larry sounds 900% more convincing than Luger is because this is the sort of American apologetics you might actually hear from some dude at the golf course. "This country taxes the shit out of me and it's full of liberals, but by god, I won't have some pompous ass..." etc.
