Agreed that the cage match is the sole draw of the Clash. I loved the Kung Fu reference and Flair gives his more spirited riled up Flair promo to date in 1990 putting the hard sell in effect.

I'd almost call this Flair promo more foreshadowing of the heel turn, since he's not in his babyface respectful Flair style, but half-crazed heel Flair mode. Good promo to hype the Clash.

One last promo to get people to tune in for the Clash. Nothing special here, but it does its job. There's been some pretty decent build up for this match, but it seems like the rest of the card has had no build at all.

Good point by Cox about Flair's style here; he's back to doing the same heel promo he's done with only minor variations since JCP debuted on TBS in 1985. Also a good point about the rest of the card receiving only scant mention, but then again that's true of WrestleWar too at this point, commercials aside. The NWA wants its fans focused on the cage match and the cage match alone, which will only make the impact of the Horsemen turn bigger. I can't fault the strategy, although unforeseen events make it look rather stupid in hindsight.

The focus that's put on the cage match makes the timing of their heel turn even more bizarre to me. Really the focus of the Clash is on Sting being kicked out of the Horsemen, and not on the actual match, so it seems like they should have been hyping up the show as a whole more.

Arn Anderson and Sting have just won a squash and Jim Ross wants to get some final comments from the Horsemen before the match at the Clash. Arn says to come out here and make of load of idle threats is wasting everyone's time; they are family and everybody knows what happens when you mess with family. Corpus Christi is the platform and if you want to jump on the Horsemen, somebodies got to go to the hospital. Flair says that if you want to exchange with the Horsemen, be prepared to pay the price. In Corpus Christi the cage goes up, the lights go out, you bleed, you sweat and above all else, you pay the price!

Go home interview for the Clash. Two quick little fired up promos from Arn and Flair, and the first time on the set that Arn hasn't outshone him when they're together. Sting also gets a few words in but it's nothing noteworthy.
