Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Nate is back with chocolate pie in an attempt to cheer up Jerry Lawler. Lawler doesn't seem too interested, and says he doesn't want Nate talking about his personal life on television. He also says he didn't ask for this pie, and whenever he wants something, he'll get it himself. Lawler ends up saying since he got it, he must have been the one to want the pie. He ends up throwing the entire pie at him and covering him with the milk. Now that he's done all of this, Lawler is suddenly cheered up. Nate reaches his breaking point and quits. Lawler says he ain't quittin' nothin', he's going to mop up this mess, then he's fired. Lawler shoves him, and he shoves Lawler back, which prompts Lawler to beat the hell out of him. Eddie Marlin has to come out to break the whole thing up. Lawler is such an asshole jerk in this, and I wish heels were this despicable in wrestling now. PeteF3
Lawler completely eviscerates Nate for having the gall to fetch him a pie (more advertising for somebody) without Lawler asking for it. Then Lawler's abuse turns physical as he dumps the pie on Nate, fires him, and then pounds the crap out of him for good measure--all to put himself in a better mood. Nate's "I quit!" promo is actually pretty fiery and effective. Worked brawling on a tile floor that's been covered with pie and milk sounds like an ACL tear waiting to happen. soup23
I knew where this was headed when Nate brought the pie but damn if they didn't play it up wonderfully when Nate shoved Lawler back and got cheered. Lawler then beats the hell out of him including a chairshot. I liked Dave getting a shot in saying that lawler had destroyed the studio again. Kevin Ridge
Lawler sure does dominate TV time. Jerry talks down to Nate and smacks him around with some pie. Lawler fires Nate and then beats the crap out of him.
Cox
Poor Nate.
stunning_grover
I loved this segment. More heels should be as vicious as Lawler was at that time. When watching this, one really feels sorry for Lawler's servant.
garretta
Lawler destroys the studio for the second week in a row, which will no doubt result in another new set (and more free advertising) the following week. Nate takes a pie in the face, a pitcher of milk over his head, and a chairshot to the head, all in the name of making the King happy. It's interesting that they showed Nate as angry enough to actually shove Lawler, which of course earns him quite the royal (ahem) buttkicking. I notice that the guy playing Nate was in wrestling gear. Is he anyone famous? A bit strange that the promoter and the head referee would come out to break up this kind of a beatdown. In other places, unless the victim was another name wrestler, they were left to their own devices.
drew wardlaw
The way Lawler cheers up momentarily after he pours the milk on Nate is so simple but really adds depth to his character. Of course, this whole segment is perfect.
GSR
Lawler is in his recliner when Nate returns with a glass of milk and a chocolate pie to cheer him up, as that’s what Paula sends him out to get if ever ‘The King’ is in a bad mood. Nate cuts him a slice, but Lawler says how he doesn’t appreciate him talking about his personal life out here on television, as what he does at home is his business and nobody else’s. He says that if he wants something he’ll ask for it and he never asked for this pie. Seeing as Nate went and got this pie, he figures that he must want it. He then throws the pie in Nate’s face and throws the milk at him, before telling him again that if he wants something, he’ll ask for it. This has cheered ‘The King’ up though and he’s in a better mood! Nate quits, but Lawler tells him he’s not quitting, he’s going to clear all this mess up and then he’s fired. Lawler shoves him, but Nate shoves him back. Bad move as ‘The King’ attacks him, hits him with a chair and puts the boots to him. Eddie Marlin and Jerry Calhoun end up coming out to put a stop to things. Great stuff. Nate the Rat isn’t the most sympathetic of characters so you don’t really feel that sorry for him, but Lawler is awesome in this. Constantly picking on Nate and finding fault with what he does, when all Nate is concerned about is trying to cheer him up. Loss sums it up perfectly when he describes Lawler as ‘an arrogant jerk’. dawho5
Saw somebody eating the pie for sure once it came out. Poor Nate. Lawler is just such a rotten bastard here even the Memphis studio turns on him.
