Loss Posted March 10, 2013 Author Report Posted March 10, 2013 Savage and Piper on commentary for DiBiase and Sherri in the ring is a loaded setup, and I love it. Savage and Piper take off in disgust pretty early on. Just a standard squash and nothing essential, but I like how they handled even inconsequential things like non-angle advancing segments so well in the DiBiase/Virgil feud. Quote
shoe Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 The Dibiase and Sherri pairing is official. Quote
PeteF3 Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Piper storms out in disgust when DiBiase comes out, and then Savage bails when Sherri is introduced. This was quite the angle-intensive Superstars for a show that didn't really have any notable angles to speak of--just set-ups and advancement. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 DiBiase introduces his new manager Sherri. Piper doesn't want to listen to any of this so takes off from the booth. Split screen interview of Virgil threatening to spank Sherri. Quick squash as expected. Quote
soup23 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 This felt like the Post Mania Raw of its day with this Superstars. Piper and Savage exiting the booth is great storyline continuity. THe squash was actually good that Dibiase did to. Quote
ajtroma Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Reno Riggins is still VERY underrated. This was taped weeks in advance. In fact, it was taped the same night as the WrestleMania Prime Time Special that featured Sherri with Savage for the Contract Signing. Those folks in Pensacola had to know something was up. Quote
garretta Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Piper and Savage bail early for obvious reasons, so we get to hear Vince alone on commentary. MSG circa 1978 this ain't. I love the tease we got of a possible confrontation between Savage and Sherri at some point. I'm wondering if Savage may have been a backup plan in case Virgil simply didn't get over, even with Piper's help. All they would have needed to do to junk Randy's retirement was have Sherri threaten Liz. Randy takes exception, Teddy attacks him in the booth, and we're off and running. Even if Randy didn't want to hit the road full-time, they could have fought at Superstars tapings, which he was there for anyway. Quote
dawho5 Posted November 1, 2017 Report Posted November 1, 2017 Piper and Savage leaving in disgust was a nice touch. Ted worked a nice squash here with some crisp offense. Quote
