Loss
Robin Leach (I think?) narrates a commercial promoting a Ric Flair sweepstakes for the Great American Bash. That they marketed the entire show around a guy whose contract needed to be extended is classic WCW idiocy. I feel bad for the huge Flair fan who won the sweepstakes. It definitely puts the crowd response at that show in perspective when you see how much Flair was part of its hype.By the way ... Flair is saying "At the Great American Bash". Kevin Ridge
Robin Leach joins the list of celebrities who appeared in both WWF and WCW. Quality timing for this Flair promotion.

soup23
Did they Rolex have the date of Wm 24 engraved in it? Robin Leach was pretty done by this point right?
garretta
No wonder they all chanted "WE WANT FLAIR!" in Baltimore. Of course, they could hide behind the "Card subject to change" bit to protect themselves legally, but this was still fraud in every way but legally. They deserved to look as silly as they must giving away prizes promoting a wrestler who was now working for their direct competition. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of carnies. Did they announce the winner of the contest on TV? Did they just quietly give away the prizes with nobody knowing it? Did they substitute Luger or Sting merchandise? Or did they just scrap the whole thing once Flair was fired?
dawho5
The Robin Leach factor was pretty good by WCW standards at the time. Man, I got more of a kick out of Fly's post back up there than I did this segment though. Well-played sir.
