NO way I can HDD all that (I have like 15 TB of Wrestling already filled up).

But I will be buying these from whoever gets them all taped....

Were these not already out there or something?

What is more sad is that I have all teh GWF Sets out there...but to get these in really nice, broadcast quality will be a nice addition...

I find that to be pretty amazing, actually. When Global started, it was on daily on ESPN, a channel many people had access to, and featured a lot of tape trading favorites (Cactus Jack, Eddie Gilbert, Stan Lane with Jim Cornette, Buddy Landell, Terry Gordy, etc). I figured somebody had to have a lot of this stuff somewhere, or that a ton of it would have wound up on YouTube.

Someone ran a bunch on justin.tv a few years ago but it was pretty spotty.

I was excited though because it was a pretty big part of my childhood. I remember being really frustrated coming home from school and finding it preempted by the MLB expansion draft one day.

There's at least 120 DVD's out there at minimum. I have 94 myself. The thing to keep in mind though is that this show was on everyday and the period most people remember was 1991, which is very well covered.

Here's the list of available shows:

GWF List

There's also:

Atleast 38 episodes of Supercard Legends

56+ episodes of Supercard

16 episodes of Major League Wrestling

23 episodes of Main Event TV

Maybe after the G1 is over I can start going through the shows and figure out what's new and what's not.

There was a huge 90 some disc set of GWF that was uploaded to XWT-Classics maybe about a year ago. I got about the first 40 discs or so and have watched probably the first 10. I wish I had gotten the whole set before it disappeared off the tracker because I've found it to be a very enjoyable show.

It's the 94 Disc set I have from BottomlessJack. It's on the listings I posted above.

The 12am episode is actually a USWA Dallas episode. I just saw Embry vs. Dundee and Austin vs. Nightmare Danny Davis. Next is Hot Stuff vs. Jarrett.

NICE!

They did randomly air some USWA shows in the GWF Legends spot, so that makes sense. Any GWF branding in wraparounds or is it just a straight up USWA Legends of Wrestling episode?

Why couldn't something like the GWF work today? Put in on ESPN Classic or something, put it in the Philadelphia area where most indy workers are located anyway, stick with taped shows and keep the budget low with workers on a per show deal. It would have to get better ratings than alot of the b and c sports channels shows and it really should be ALOT cheaper to produce than other programming.

I missed the opening of that episode, but the next one also featured USWA Dallas. Basically, it was the Legends opening but with scenes from past Sportatorium matches (not the GWF scenes). Doyle and Akbar intro'd the episode, the ring behind them had an apron that said Sportatorium. They basically introduced the episode as matches from the Sportatorium. There was no GWF mention or branding.

The episode airing now is a Legends re-airing of the first GWF episode.

Not enjoying the "Legends" shows at all for some reason, probably because of how disjointed they seem. The one at 7pm tonight was from the first two nights of tapings, but I don't need to see TWO Tug Taylor matches when there was a kick ass TV Title tournament going on those two nights.

Plus with the Legends format leading to occasional replays of Major League Wrestling, this led to the Gilbert-Garvin "fans search for weapons" and Lynn-Kid hold vs. hold matches to be heavily clipped, and those are my two favorite GWF matches ever.

Then again, I haven't been forced to sit through Brandon Baxter's Teen Beat or whatever his shitty segment was called, so maybe I'm not giving the legends format enough credit.

Overall I'm really enjoying the look back, even if they're airing them in such a way that I'll never get them all recorded.

You will watch TWO Tug Taylor matches and LIKE IT. I love Tug actually. He's no superworker but he takes some good bumps and is fun as a low-rent cousin of Typhoon. I'd love to get a Tug Taylor discussion going, but I and I don't think many others would have alot to say.

The Legends thing is all about how you look at it. With their format, you get more matches, but they are clipped up. I'd honestly rather get the clips as atleast I can feel I saw a match even if I only saw half of it. I think we wouldn't see a lot of the matches we saw without the format.

The marathon that started this morning at 10 AM has been all very early episodes of GWF including the only appearance of Stan Lane & Jim Cornette

I thought Lane and Cornette worked a few tapings? I remember them being in the TV tourney, the tag tourney (teaming with Steve Cox) and the North American tourney.
