Blazer Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 This has become my favorite wrestling podcasts to listen to. Glad there's a new one up. You guys do a great job. Favorite part of last podcast: Parv: "Big Daddy Dink was introduced and the fans could not have given LESS of a shit." LOL
Grimmas Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Shit, I am still in 88 (in watching all ppvs ever) and I want to catch up before I listen to anymore. Sadly, I have to delay listening to this one.
The Chief Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Hey guys, there doesn't seem to be a download link for this episode
soup23 Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Hey Chief, link should be working now on PTBN's page.
soup23 Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 I got a little carried away and I don't want to collude threads but a criticism I have of Meltzer is his "live" perception sometimes doesn't align with what the viewer is hearing/ record books reflect. When challenged on this stance, we get the generic "you weren't there" argument which is troublesome in many ways especially considering the size of an arena like the Egg Dome. Also to go along with the standards change narrative, the Steiners vs. Hase/Sasaki match is a fun one to watch and reflect on that it is 23 years old.
shoe Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Parv I have personally pimped the Larry Z/Sting brawl to you on Titans. Though to be fair Will and Charles were one of the first to actually pimp it.
soup23 Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 I know for a fact I had mentioned it on WTBBP before as well. Parv's lucky to have his charm to make up for his memory. Also Pete informed me this show is now on the WWE Network.
jpchicago23 Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 I like Parv's smug description of US currency. He mentions a show costing nine dollars ninety five. Parv is too fucking suave to say cents. Then again Chad would probably say ninety five cent so i guess its a lose/lose.
jpchicago23 Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Just finished and that was another great show. Can't wait for the mid 91 into 92 change that is coming.
JerryvonKramer Posted May 28, 2014 Author Report Posted May 28, 2014 I know for a fact I had mentioned it on WTBBP before as well. Parv's lucky to have his charm to make up for his memory. Right before we started recording, we had this exchange: Me: You still into board gaming Chad? Chad: Yeah Me: There's this game I think you'd like called Splendor .... Chad: I told you about that a month ago!!! I think I'm getting worse.
shoe Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 Also with Meltzer he was real tight with Pillman so that might influence his rating in the 6 man.
shoe Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 Also with Alfonso Dusty brought him in because they knew each other from Florida. Also Alfonso would eventually become tight with El Gigante, and broker a deal for both of them to go to WWF.
shoe Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 I know for a fact I had mentioned it on WTBBP before as well. Parv's lucky to have his charm to make up for his memory. Also Pete informed me this show is now on the WWE Network. I was wrong about the network uploading the show. I saw the banner for Superbrawl and thought it was the egg dome show.
Lust Hogan Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 Great show guys! My favorite parts of the show are you guys simply laughing at the absurdity of WCW. Parv's laugh reminds me of Penfold's laugh on Dangermouse.
