DOA comes out. Cornette is on the ramp and announces the RNR Express. They come out to The Rockers music and look exactly the same gear wise as they did in 1985. Cornette says this is the tag wrestling that was prevailing in the NWA.

Cornette putting over the RNR Express always feels wrong. The NWA was completely irrelevant in 1998 when this angle was done. Here we are 16 years later, the NWA is still as irrelevant, yet a major wrestling promotion (New Japan) is still doing an NWA invasion angle.

Jimmy calling the Rock N’ Roll Express the greatest tag team of NWA just does not sit well since he feuded with them for so long. Them coming out to Rockers music is weirder.

The match is (rightfully) not shown but I remember absolute crickets in the arena. No one cared about the NWA belts being in the WWF in 1998. In hindsight, pretty cool that the RNR Express were there though.

I'm not bothered by Cornette putting over the Rock & Rolls since they won the feud in SMW and he conceded the point.

Highlights of Jim Cornette introducing the NWA to the WWF--holy shit, DENNIS CORALUZZO made an appearance. It's the WWF's Dennis of the Week! Back live, Cornette introduces the newest members of the NWA--the Rock 'n Roll Express. Robert's cut his hair and they're using the Rockers' music, but otherwise they look just as they did in SMW. I know the fact that these guys were anachronisms was the entire point of the gimmick but it still isn't that fun seeing this group slide into irrelevance. It does make for a great trick question for if you're playing the Worked WrestleMania + Starrcade game on Sporcle, since nobody remembers that the R'nRs wrestled at WM14 in the tag battle royal.

Yeah Jim proclaiming RNR as the best tag team just clashed with the programming of my brain. Luckily we are sparred a Harris Bros. match and just get the bullet points of the extremely short lived NWA revival.
