goodhelmet
So... Montreal is still a thing. On the other hand, really surprised they let the tag team champions beat their top two babyfaces.
The Chief
New Day was great. Ryback cut a good promo, just in front of the wrong crowd. He did try though. And I hope he destroys Wyatt. Pretty good show so far.
Strummer
New Day are really becoming one of the few reasons to watch. They are clearly building to Kane v Rollins. Kind of hilarious that Reigns and Orton are being used as stepping stones to get to Freaking Kane. Kane has been pretty great on the mic but no way he should be getting this push in 2015
Matt D
He's a guy they can put Rollins over without anyone getting damaged and the size difference will make it potentially striking if they can do it right.
Parties
Slater's new haircut and beard made him look like Zayn, moments before Zayn showed up.
hammerva
Man I really really hope that Zayn's shoulder is a work because the last thing he needed in his first RAW match was to be injured. I was so hoping the Kevin Owens would actually run in to screw him out of the match
tim
That was a hell of a debut and the crowd was super hot, so it's hard to be too negative, but WWE really passed up an easy chance to hit it out of the park. Starting the match during the break and the arm injury thing (assuming it wasn't real, it sure didn't seem it but I guess I'll allow the possibility) were two dumb decisions that made it less than it should've been. They should've had a straight forward competitive match, given them 20 minutes, told them to tear the house down and given Sami a run of nearfalls to the end. I still thought there was good stuff in the match and it was effective overall, just sort of glaringly lesser than it should've been. Still a legit great overall segment and this whole RAW has been shockingly good.
Zoo Enthusiast
I'm going to have to grab the torrent to see that match. Sounds like a dream.
Strummer
I like the Naomi and Tamina pairing although saying they are "cousins" (through marriage) is a little weak. Nice to see Ambrose get a main event slot even though it's probably just a one and done. He's most likely there to take the fall. Hope Sami isn't legit injured. Very fun match. New Day are just great This has been one of the best Raws of the year. Maybe the best
tim
Best RAW since the night after last Summerslam unless I'm forgetting something. It's shocking the amount of obvious effort that's been put into it.
Strummer
Nice to see Ambrose being the one to be the hero at the end and stand tall as show goes off the air
jcmmnx
That truly was a bizzaro Raw most everything was well booked and made sense. The post match to Cena/Zayn is why I think Zayn will get over big on the main roster. He's so good at conveying his emotions to the audience in a natural way. Bierschwale
Nice to see Ambrose being the one to be the hero at the end and stand tall as show goes off the air He hasn't looked this good all-around since HIAC last year.
Strummer
Hunter and Stephanie being gone has allowed for different acts like New Day, Sheamus, Barrett, Naomi, and hell even Slater to get more mic time and craft some pretty damn entertaining characters. There really is no need for them to hog airtime but its inevitable they will return to status quo when they come back. They should be used as Jack Tunney figures who pop in to make important decisions and then leave
Parties
I never care about the ratings, but this is one week where I'm interested to see the number. Vince's idea of a good RAW is predicated on the quarters. While Steph and Hunter booking themselves as simultaneous top faces/top heels seems inevitable, doing a good number during NHL-NBA playoffs might speak well for a show focused on Ambrose, Zayn, New Day, Cesaro-Kidd, Sheamus, and Barrett. Grimmas
This is the shit I don't understand. If a show gets real good it takes time for the ratings to grow. It's not a situation where one week is good and that week the ratings will be huge it's more gradual. If Vince had the same line of thinking that he has now in 97, the WWE would had been out of business. It's all about the competition. I think with how fragmented the audiences are in general now, there's not much room for growth, anyhow. I usually only look at ratings for shows like this when the hardcores talk about how great it was.
hammerva
watching the E 60 special. And wow Michel Hayes absolutely burying Kreuger/Adam Rose in production meeting. I had no idea Rose had a son with a life threatening illness To be fair it was only the Leo Kreuger that he was burying. While it was harsh from what I remember it was an extremely average gimmick that didn't have a chance in the WWE It was a very god show if you can get past the fact that most of the footage was so outdated. At least they provided with an updated on their career I have no recollection of "Xaiver Shango" and thank god for that. it must have been an indy or house show gimmick Bill Demott being a vocal part in the Adam Rose character and then mentioned he was fired for abuse was great
Johnny Sorrow
Orton dancing to the New Day music at the start of RAW was awesome and New Day are fucking great. Orton was in a goofy mood, I loved his Abbott and Costello "Payback" routine. I loved Booker being wrong so much. First it was getting "Freebirds Rules" wrong and then saying "The Edsel was a good car in its day" 😀 Dude, ten years ago I was at a JAPW show where I saw this skinny kid in a Lucha mask from Canada who won over the crowd in one night. Tonight I watched him become a star on RAW. That's so fucking cool.
rvd356
Loved the parts of Raw I saw on tv(last 10 minutes) and the parts I looked up on YouTube. I just haven't seen much WWE since Wrestlemania, basically because I always tune out when Randy Orton is in a 1-on-1 World Title feud. HAD to see Zayn debut, been waiting so long for him. Loved him in ROH and he's at the level of Punk and Bryan as far as me anticipating his WWE career (along with Steen and now Samoa Joe, 10 years late but I'm still excited.) anyway the match was really good, not great but you can see the huge star potential, Bryan level. (he had a legit separated shoulder so I understand). That DDT through the corner is so awesome. If Bryan has to go down for awhile I want Zayn to be in the IC p

I usually only look at ratings for shows like this when the hardcores talk about how great it was. It's clearly ridiculous, but at least from what Meltzer's said in the past, you know how this is gonna go. Sycophants telling Steph and HHH that the show tanked without them, and that they simply must return as RAW's focal point. For next week I'd also expect Vince to hot shot a bunch of matches and angles that have no business being on TV. That said, great show. We were one Mark Henry beatdown and a Daniel Bryan recovery away from this being The RAW That The Internet Booked.
rvd356
Whoops didn't mean to post!! Anyway I want to see Zayn in the IC picture if Bryan goes down. Not just win the belt cuz he's awesome but be in the chase. If they are going to build up the IC belt they need a really strong champion and have someone's win be built up for months until the fans ache for it. Second thing I loved was Ambrose looking like a star again and being pushed into the Main Event and in the World Title picture for once. I love the guy, his brawler attack style and the jeans and cut off shirt. He's just great. Good match with Rollins as usual. I think the have a classic in them though. Again not a fan of Orton, but I'm okay with him in a multi man World Title feud. That Reigns-Orton match was the deadest Raw main event match I had watched in years and then Ambrose saved the segment and gave the fans someone to cheer for. Reigns: I don't get why people don't like him. I think he is great and damn the crowd should have exploded for his Undertaker Plancha last night but they just brushed it off like it was lame. 3 straight awesome PPV matches in a row; vs. Bryan, Brock and Big Show and he is still boo'd. I'm guessing it's still just backlash for "taking" Bryan's spot winning the Rumble and then literally beating him in February PPV for the Main Event spot @ Mania 31. Oh well I hope they keep pushing him and then eventually he will be a heel and get over for being dominant. Rollins: still not 100% sold on him as the #1 heel world champ(who are we kidding he's just holding Brock's spot for him, but how well will he do at it is the question?). I'm glad they are putting Reigns and Ambrose in the feud with him, because I think those 2 can actually really get him over and I don't get why people want to "save" those feuds. He is a new champion and needs to get over NOW not later. A 3 way Shield feud will get these guys over because when they work together it is magic and the fans love it. They should fade Orton out after Payback and do some 3 way Street Fights for a couple months, I think they would really be over and produce some MOTYC's maybe. Eventually Brock will be back for Lesnar-Reigns II and to take his belt from Rollins and just build his case for wrestler of the year, decade, century. Other stuff: Cena-Rusev: Rusev's got to win round 4 right? Cesaro/Kidd vs Kofi/big E is a +(Cesaro deserves better but wth ) Sheamus as bruiser heel is a + Ryback vs. Bray Wyatt feud is a + (Undertaker and Cena are way out of his league, this is precisely where he belongs, mid card) Jericho is coming back is always a + Bryan being hurt and right when we were going to have the IC title be awesome again is a - Is that really it for Sting? Id like him and Jericho to do some business. Would be a cool veteran feud. Stings direction is a - Stardust is lame and sucks. Bring back Cody and Goldust. All that time for a crappy 5 m
