goodhelmet
He did. They had really good matches together. They might not be MOTYs but worthy enough to put on the list.
goc
That is true, their matches weren't bad they just weren't as good as you thought they might be. But that happens from time to time in wrestling. You see two guys matched up who are great and you think will have great matches together but either don't mesh with their styles or personalities or just have bad chemistry. Matt D
There you go then. Were there Sarge matches that didn't make the cut?
Dylan Waco
I would rate the Hansen v. Sarge matches pretty highly actually. Not the all time classic series you might want, but very good for matches that weren't ever designed to be the focal point of the promotion. Jingus
Even though I might like my favorite Hansen matches more than my favorite Funk matches, I voted for Terry. Much longer career, worked many more places, did many more things. Infinitely better as a talker and doing other non-bell-to-bell stuff. He would completely change his gimmick and his character from place to place, evolving to suit the needs of whichever territory he was working for. Hansen didn't change nearly so much over time, except for just getting stiffer as he got older.
drew wardlaw
Really interesting poll because it's kind of a jack of all trades vs master brawler. I chose Hansen purely for his cardio conditioning. Every match of his is amazing for the sheer amount of continuous movement alone. Unfortunately that's also one of the criticisms against him as that's part of him swallowing up opponents, but oh well.
JerryvonKramer
You wouldn't see Funk as a master brawler? Just kind of interested. To me both guys are brawlers who can work technical if required. Terry it seems to me is also a big bumper in the mode of Race or Flair and the similarity of his basic working style to either of those guys is seldom acknowledged. WingedEagle
I prefer Hansen's brawling because Funk too often turns up the cartoonish aspects of his work.
Matt D
Cardio is one of the least important things in wrestling to me.
Childs
So that's why you're down on Hansen huh? His cardio just pisses you off 😀
Matt D
I do watch a lot of wrestling on the elliptical. I could feel resentment.
Childs
I hear you. I often watch from the treadmill and find that I'm generally harsher on matches that come on during the last 1/3 of my workout.

For me what slightly hurts Funk is that because of his size compared to other big time brawlers I tend to see him more sympathetically, even in a heel role. Hansen, while not as chaotic as Funk, is physically more intimidating and comes off as more purely mean spirited.
ohtani's jacket
Am I the only one who thinks Hansen can be just as cartoonish as Funk?
drew wardlaw
His promos definitely are, and probably his overall character too. In ring, maybe his facial expressions, and his work in America was always more over-the-top than in Japan. Not sure if anything outdoes punch drunk Funk though. Wade Garrett
I'm a 70's guy so I wanna vote Terry Funk. Funk has the 70's no doubt. Stan The Man Hansen is fuckin great. He has the 90's without question. This is real tough. Think I'm gonna pop in some VHS while I'm shootin pool (and Jack D) tonight. This comes down to the 80's shit.
