Dylan Waco Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 They kind of do, but more the John Cena beats Heath Slater way, then the Ric Flair beats Bob Cook way.
goc Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 I also had Mike George on my list the whole time but I didn't have any plans for him, couldn't think of any, and didn't want him to just be a jobber for me. I like Mike. Well until he got washed up and started bleaching his hair and pretending the WWA World Title was actually a thing.
dedhemingway Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 My well of 'well, at least that name is familiar' has gone dry. Now it's 'hey, that guy has a cool name, let's google him, oh, he looks pretty cool, that's good enough'.
goc Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Shit...Israel Matia was my last resort for a plan that has seen everyone else get picked. Didn't expect anyone else to be looking at him.
goodhelmet Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Sorry, I mentioned this in the wrong thread earlier... how did Plowboy Frasier drop so low?
goc Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Sorry, I mentioned this in the wrong thread earlier... how did Plowboy Frasier drop so low? 1. A lot of people are drafting guys who worked in or fit their territory only. Never worked Southwest and couldn't think of any Southwest guy that was "like" Plowboy so he wasn't a fit for me. 2. I think a lot of people are just thinking about putting as many "good matches" as possible on their cards so Plowboy got hurt there also. From the way I look at booking things, he's awesome. You can repackage him a hundred different ways. Stick him in a tag team, a stable, make him the big giant buddy of a little guy, the big mean giant for a little shit head to hide behind, just all kinds of stuff to do with the Plowboy.
El Boricua Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 We're at the point where one could look at their roster and say they're done drafting. Remember that you don't have to continue drafting if you're satisfied with what you've assembled.
Dylan Waco Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Ideally I want to get to 20, but this definitely could be it for me. The field is really thin
Dylan Waco Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 I will be in the air most of the day tomorrow. I'll give a list to someone early tomorrow morning if my pick hasn't come around.
El Boricua Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Ideally I want to get to 20, but this definitely could be it for me. The field is really thin Well, one more pick should get you to twenty (save pick + 19 rounds).
El Boricua Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Jesse's around, goc has Beast's pick, and I'll hang around a bit more, so Dylan may get his pick in (although think of a proxy for your next one if you're going to ge out most of tomorrow).
rainmakerrtv Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 It broke my heart to lose Apocalypse, but at this point I have all of the specific slots filled. Everyone has a role I expect them to play. I am now at the point where I have some utility slots to fill. There are a few different types that can fill in those slots, but I am not particularly wedded to any one person filling that slot.
rainmakerrtv Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Case in point ... I could have used Korchenko, but it really doesn't hurt to lose him.

goc Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Ohhh El Boricua, playing Jumpin' Joe close to the vest the other day when I was mentioning babyfaces I had my eye on. Pardee bores me so much I almost wish I'd ignored the 4 Pardee votes and went with Savoldi like I wanted to. That could just be because Pardee has the disadvantage of working much longer matches. If I saw Savoldi's Portland work I might change my mind.
dawho5 Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 I left my next four picks with goc. Not that I think they will last that long at this point either through dartboard style drafting or on purpose drafting. I filled all my major roles by the Regal pick and added Creatchman as a bonus that I didn't figure would last. Too bad it's not the right Regal but we all need jobbers. The idea of doing half of this again every six months was a bit of a downer I have to admit.
El Boricua Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Ohhh El Boricua, playing Jumpin' Joe close to the vest the other day when I was mentioning babyfaces I had my eye on Yeah, he was someone I was considering for that low card face spot I needed to fill.
dawho5 Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 One thing about being a more fringe territory is that a lot of your useful guys are not as useful anywhere else.
goc Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 I did not know my starting Southwest roster was going to be as popular, that's for sure.
goc Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Oh, and I had 2 names from RocketCrypt but they are both gone. So that concludes this evening of picks.

The field is really thinWell, one more pick should get you to twenty (save pick + 19 rounds). I could swear I only counted 18 names under my current roster in the goc thread I was missing Rufus off your list. You have 20 with Moondog Moretti.
Dylan Waco Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 We will see if I can make it another round. It really depends on who goes before my next pick
goc Posted June 23, 2015 Report Posted June 23, 2015 Just wondering if I get any kind of "compensatory pick" with the new talent that debuts in February 1984. No one else really loses an entire roster member besides me and dkookypunk.
