Boon
There was talk that Hulk Hogan would be back in the area when the name went up. This is in no way an attack on Verne or the AWA, although it's believed that Wade Smeltzer was at the show...
KrisZ
I got no problem with the concept and it's kinda like GCW Superstars in 1983

Cross Face Chicken Wing
I can't promise that Verne won't fly off the handle once he sees the abbreviation. He's in a mood this week. One CEASE AND DESIST letter has already been sent. I wouldn't put it past him to also give his lawyers a call on this matter as well........ Boon
Bobby Bearden is very grateful for all the positive feedback. But is struggling to understand how Verne knew there was a show in Huntsville tonight in front of less than 1000 people.

El Boricua
Bobby Bearden is very grateful for all the positive feedback. But is struggling to understand how Verne knew there was a show in Huntsville tonight in front of less than 1000 people. Wade Smeltzer's really got ol' Verne paranoid that he's putting eyes and ears where he can. Heart of Dixie Sports Attractions Beat me to it, I was going to suggest Heart of Dixie Wrestling. goc
Haha it originally said Heart of Dixie Wrestling but I changed it to be a total copy of Central States' "Heart of America Sports Attractions"
dawho5
He HATES the Smeltzer report, but reads it anyway in case anyone is doing something that he needs to put an end to.

Boon
Bobby Bearden would like to thank Southwest for their support in loaning Ron Starr and Mike "Action" Jackson for their shows going forward...
goc
Joe Blanchard would like the record to show that they are extremely generous with lending out talent to those who have made friends of Southwest Championship Wrestling. Ron Starr and Mike Jackson are great additions to the Alabama Wrestling Alliance. A 3rd wrestler from the offices of San Antonio will also make his away to Alabama but to announce it now would spoil what has already been taped for the next episode of Southwest Championship Wrestling. Boon
Just announced for August 4th & 5th "The Incredible" Hogan...
Boon
Alabama Wrestling Alliance Thursday 4th August 1983 Athens Recreation Center, Athens, AL Bell Time 7.30pm 1. "The Incredible" (Eddie) Hogan defeats the tag duo of The Masked Terror and The Shadow [Norman Frederick Charles III & Tony Falk under masks] in 4 minutes when Hogan scooped both wrestlers up for a double power slam followed by a huge leg drop on the Shadow followed by the 3 count. - 2. "The Alaskan" defeats "Action" Jackson in 5 minutes following a double ax smash to Jackson's back. The Alaskan is a stocky fellow who is a veteran of the game comes out in jeans, boots and a lumberjack shirt. The veteran "Alaskan" gave little away to Jackson. From the opening bell, this match was only going one way. - 3. The "Cuban" Assassin defeats The Patriot [Josh Stroud under a masked]. In an even contest where the fans are fully behind The Patriot, The "Cuban" Assassin spends alot of the match on the outside bad mouthing the local crowd. The match takes a turn towards the "Cuban" when he takes Patriots knee from behind, spends a few minutes working it over and finishes of the Patriot with a "Cuban" Crab in 8 minutes. - 4. The Moondog & Don Bass go to a no contest with Gino & Bob Della Serra after the referee looses control of the match as the match goes all round the arena as both teams brawl for 12 minutes until the locker room come out to break up the 2 teams. - 5. Alabama Heavyweight Champion Ricky Gibson & Tim Horner defeat Ted Allen & Dirty Rhodes in 15 minutes. Both Rhodes and Allen use alot of (excuse the pun) dirty tactics and double teams to isolate Horner for alot of the match until Horner manages to get the hot tag for Gibson who cleans house and Horner and Gibson finish of the heels with a double drop kick on Allen followed by the pinful from Gibson to send the fans home happy. =================== Alabama Wrestling Alliance Friday 5th August 1983 Bob Jones High School Gym, Madison, AL Bell Time 7.30pm 1. Larry Hamilton & Josh Stroud defeat The Masked Terror and The Shadow in 8 minutes when Hamilton hit the Masked Terror with a running shoulder block followed by pin for the victory. - 2. "Dirty" Rhodes & The Alaskan go to a double count out with Gino & Bob Della Serra after both teams brawled on the outside and the referee counted both teams out at 10 minutes. - 3. The "Cuban" Assassin defeats "Action" Jackson in 4 minutes following a Cuban Crab in a match very similar to last night in Athens. - 4. Alabama Heavyweight Champion Ricky Gibson & Tim Horner go to a 30 minute time limit draw with The Nightmares [Danny Davis & Ken Wayne] in a excellent match where both teams had several near falls and the crowd lapped it up. - 5. "The Incredible" Hogan defeats The Moondog in 5 minutes after a big boot to the face and a leg drop. The Moondog dominated most of the match after a cheap shot to Hogan at the bell, before Hogan turned the table and finished of the Moondog.
