goodhelmet Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 Did I miss it or is the tag match not on the pre-show?
WingedEagle Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Nope looks like there's no pre-show match.
goodhelmet Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 Smart money is in on the show and I don't think I am going to like this show very much from a booking standpoint.
Parties Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 If you've never seen Lillian Garcia's self-sung entrance video, be somebody and go YouTube that noise.Michael Cole gets the biggest heel reaction of anyone this weekend. JBL gets a big pop wagging his cowboy hat like it's the last scene of Dr. Strangelove. Lawler gets the best reaction of the three. He deserves to make everyone's All Time Top 100 ballot for his entrance music alone.Chants for New Day throughout. Crowd 50/50 on Lesnar and Taker. Kids and parents are for Mean Mark, while twentysomething cretins prefer Brock.
Coffey Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Not loving this Jon Stewart open. I just wanna get to the wrestling.
cpst Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Jon Stewart looks like Vince Russo mixed with Hank Scorpio from the Simpsons. I didn't really want to see Mick Foley on TV ever again.
Parties Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Robert Reich and Dutch Mantell down there died a death at first, but is slowly winning the audience over during their two-man stand-up routine. Their shtick was initially inaudible over the crowd. It pretty much sucked and the reaction was mediocre, but improved by the end.
goodhelmet Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 issues  Look in the WWE Network thread.
cpst Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Coming soon from WWE Films: a buddy cop film starring Jon Stewart and Mick Foley.
hammerva Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Yeah why not start the "Most historic show in years" with the same crap that begins every single RAW for the last 4 years. Sorry I will take a match with Liger as my opener
goodhelmet Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 Starting with Orton and Sheamus... interesting.
hammerva Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Working good for me. Didn't they start the last PPV with Orton vs Shemaus?
cpst Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 So we'll have a stupid talking segment to start the show, and then they start the first match with Sheamus on the mic...
Coffey Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Match is dying a thousand deaths to the surprise of fucking NOBODY.
cpst Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Why does it look like someone hotboxed the Barclay's Center?
goodhelmet Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 Randy Orton vs. Sheamus - This started off promising with Orton taking out Sheamus on the announcer’s table but Sheamus decided he wanted to control the match and it got real boring, real quick. - I love Sheamus but he never moved past 2nd gear. - I give them props for getting the crowd back into it with Randy’s comeback after losing them early on to meaningless chants to keep themselves entertained - The ending was a little awkward but this was ok. Not great but ok. 0-1 in predictions
JerryvonKramer Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 I had some friends here, who have just left. The sight of Shemus and his Mohawk did not do much to sell them on watching wrestling in 2015. A lot of "I can't believe you watch this shit", oh well.
Parties Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Re: arena smoke, Johnny Sorrow stopped by and hasn't yet switched to vape pens. Â Match was entertaining in the building even if it didn't get a big reaction. Finish felt sudden, but Sheamus is a fun heel to boo. He knows how to get the right reactions.
cpst Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 The crowd was pretty dead for most of the match, but at least the heat picked up near the end when Orton did his babyface buildup routine.
JerryvonKramer Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 I still don't really get what it means for Sheamus to beat Orton or vice versa. Every Orton match feels like that.
