SirEdger
Agreed. Look, we all have our touch of "unrealism" in our projects and this is what that makes it so fun. Don't beat yourself over your head for that. Keep doing what you do, we all enjoy it!
kevinmcfl
DALLAS, TEXAS “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling, a UWF Promotion, from the world’s most famous wrestling arena, The Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas. I am Lance Russell along with “Playboy” Gary Hart. Let’s get right to some of the highlights from the big show last week in San Antonio where it was Jimmy Snuka and his cousins Fatu and the Tongo Kid against the Von Erich brothers. VIDEO MATCH: THE VON ERICHS VS JIMMY SNUKA, FATU & TONGA KID with Gary Hart In a wild match, we see Jimmy Garvin run down to ring side and try and take Precious back with him. Precious is currently serving as valet to Kerry Von Eric due to his recent victory over Garvin. Garvin tried this heist as the match went Bonzo Gonzo with all six men in the ring at once. Precious was more than willing to go but Kerry saw what was happening and rushed out and shoved Garvin into the steel barricade. Kerry and Precious started arguing but eventually Kerry won out and Precious returned to ring side. Unfortunately, Hart’s men took advantage of the Von Erich’s during Kerry’s absence. Fatu and the Tonga Kid were double teaming Kevin while Snuka connected with three massive headbutts and then climbed to the top rope for his Superfly Death Leap on Mike and that was all she wrote. As Snuka got up after the pin, it was obvious that he was having some trouble walking out. (INJURY TIME) Precious was full of laughter as Hart’s men had their hands raised in victory. When the video ended, Kerry is at the interview desk where he says he is going to get even with Garvin tonight in their match in the UWF World Championship Tournament. Kerry also gives Precious a stern warning to be on her best behavior or else! MATCH: DINGO WARRIOR VS LEAPING LANNY POFFO The Warrior continues his rise to power here as his just wipes the mat Poffo as the end comes with a running power slam. At the end of the match. The Warrior gets his first interview where Jim Ross congratulates him on such a wonderful beginning to his career but all the Warrior seems to do is grunt and growl. All of a sudden Gary Hart interrupts and tells Lance Russell that the next time he wants to take to one of his wrestlers that he better ask permission first. Lance asks Hart if he is really the manager for the Dingo Warrior and Hart just says that there is no better eye for talent in all of wrestling then he has and the Dingo is going to be a champion. He goes on to say that with Snuka, Fatu and the Tonga Kid along with Dingo, he is soon going to control all of the USWA! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- UWF TOURNAMENT MATCH JERRY THE KING LAWLER VS KEVIN VON ERICH A great back and forth match where Lawler plays it real dirty but that is just fine with Kevin he loves to mix it up. At one point Lawler shoved Kevin into ref Pee Wee Anderson and this brought out Tommy Rich who has had a wild on again off again relationship with the King. In fact they feuded over the USWA World Title last year as well as being the USWA World tag team champions. Lance Russell knows all about this relationship better than anyone and really wonders what Wildfire is doing out here? Rich jumps right up on the apron and starts screaming at Lawler and it is obvious to Russell that Tommy is not going to allow Lawler to advance in this tournament by playing dirty. Now Lawler catches Kevin with a knee to the gut and tosses him through the middle ropes and he crashes on to the concrete floor. It is here that the ref stumbles to his feet and starts the 10 count. Wildfire goes over to help Kevin to his feet and he offers he some words of encouragement. As the ref gets to 8 Kevin goes to hop up on the apron but Rich slips and as he falls, he knocks Kevin down again. 9… 10. Lance Russell is sure this was an accident and so does Pee Wee Anderson he rules Lawler the winner by count out. Lawler is laughing as Rich is apologizing to Kevin who accepts. Gary Hart doesn’t seem to care if it was accident or not. He is just so excited that a Von Erich lost on national TV. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- THE ROAD WARRIORS with Paul Ellering VS THE CUBAN ASSASSIN (FIDEL SIERRA) & BOBBY JAGGERS This match was used to help the Road Warriors get a little love form the fans so the promoters had The Cuban Assassin really degrade America on his way to the ring only to be decapitate by Hawk with a top rope leaping clothesline while Animal held him up on his shoulders. Just as the ref mad the three account we see a Pearl Harbor Attack by the UWF World Champions (Arn Anderson& Bobby Eaton) but this went oh so wrong for the champs. The Road Warriors were on the bottom of this brawl for maybe 10 seconds and then the champs were just beat from pillar to post. Ellering takes a moment to hype up the fact that his men will soon be the tag team champions and as we just saw, there is nothing the Perfect Alliance can do about it. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- UWF TOURNAMENT KERRY VON ERICH with Precious VS JIMMY GARVIN Kerry has to basically drag Precious to the ring with him where he tells her to sit down and not get up. While she does listen, you can tell throughout the match that she wants Garvin to with this bout and move on in the tournament. We basically see a three part match here. Garvin stalls in the beginning but eventually Kerry gets his hands on him and then just throws him around for a while. Then Garvin rakes the eyes and he gets a few minutes with the advantage. The end comes as Garvin calls Precious up and tells her to hit Kerry in the head with the “loaded” purse. Precious seems more than happy to do this. With Garvin holding Kerry, Precious loads up WHAM! She clocks Kerry with the purse but Kerry doesn’t go down. He simply smiles and grabs the purse. He opens it up and dumps out what must be 5 pounds of feathers! Garvin is stunned and Kerry again seizes control. A quick running forearm staggers Garvin and a Tornado Punch knocks him to the ground. Kerry locks in the Iron Claw and Garvin is forced to submit. Kerry simple waves a displeased finger at Precious as Lance Russell laughs all the way through Kerry’s exit. Lance then hypes up next week’s Main Even where it will be Kerry vs Lawler and the winner will get a spot in the UWF Tournament final at the David Von Erich Memorial on May 4th. Lance Russell: So long from Dallas, Texas. Don’t forget to join us this week in Nashville, TN. kevinmcfl
UWF PRESENTS 4/13/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to UWF and USWA Wrestling from Memphis, Tennessee and the WMC Studio. I am Lance Russell along with Gary Hart. You saw it folks, Baby Doll saves her man’s title by clobbering Animal with a chair. We will hear from the Road Warriors later on and one thing I know for sure, they are steaming mad! Let’s get to the ring for our first match. Lance Russell: You saw it Gary! The Road Warriors should be the new World Tag Team Champs. Gary Hart: Not sure what you saw but “should be” is a meaningless statement in the world of wrestling. Let’s get to the ring so I can teach you more about this sport as my great tag team whips up on some country fried bumpkins. MATCH THE TENNESSE STUD STABLE VS FATU & THE TONGA KID with GARY HART Lance does bring up the controversy from last week on whether or not Tommy Rich helped Jerry Lawler last week in his match vs Kevin Von Erich. The fans don’t believe that it was on purpose and they are really behind the Stud Stable here in their home state of Tennessee. As for this match, The Tennessee Stud Stable are in their element here. Fatu and Tonga may be big and like to fight but that is right up Wildfire and Hot Stuff’s ally. In the end, The Studs come out on top after Wildfire knocked the big Fatu down with a Lou Thesz Press for the pin. Lance Russell: Hahaha. Maybe one Mr. Gary Hart doesn’t know as much about wrestling as he thought! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- THE ROCK n ROLL EXPRESS VS BOBBY JAGGERS & THE CUBAN ASSASSIN The fan favorites are two for two here tonight and the RnR Express really got the crowd going with their high energy entrance. The end came with their signature Double Drop Kick on the Cuban Assassin. MATCH: RUSHER KIMURA & KENDO NAGASAKI VS BILLY JACK HAYNES & ICEMAN PARSONS A great showcase of good vs evil. In the end, the ref DQ’s Kendo Nagasaki and Kimura after Kendo retrieved his bamboo stick and whacked Iceman. The Japanese wrestlers didn’t seem to care but took full advantage of the odds and attacked the UWF World TV Champ while Iceman was down. Billy Jack put up a good fight but in the end, we see Kimura give his throat slashing sign which he followed up with a Double Arm Suplex. Haynes was basically out already but Kendo held up the champ while Kimura nearly took his head off with a running lariat! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- DINGO WARRIOR with GARY HART VS MIKE Von ERICH Gary Hart really helps bring the heat on the Dingo Warrior. The match starts out with Mike cautiously outwrestling the muscle-bound Warrior. In fact the Warrior is so frustrated he grabs the ropes and starts to shake them. It looked like the whole ring was going to collapse. In the end, Warrior was just too powerful and caught VonErich in a powerslam. With a grab of the tights to ensure victory, Dingo gets the pinfall. Lance Russell: Well folks what else would you expect from a Gary Hart wrestler but a hand full of tights. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT: UWF TOURNAMENT MATCH KERRY VON ERICH with Precious VS JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER Lance Russell lets us know that the USWA Title is not at stake in this match and Gary Hart wanted to know what Kerry VonErich was afraid of. This is not so much good vs evil as Memphis vs Dallas! The two icons put on a great show but one thing is for sure, Lawler is getting more love from this Memphis crowd then the usual fan favorite, the Texas Tornado., Kerry VonErich. We have a wild finish here as Kerry catches Lawler with his famous discus punch and then clamps in the Iron Claw. The ref keeps asking Lawler if he submits but Lawler is holding out. All of a sudden the lights go out and we have about 30 seconds of screaming fans. When they come on, we catch a glimpse of dark haired man with a sequence jacket running behind the curtain and Lawler is covering Kerry. The ref makes the three count and it is obvious that Kerry is out. Kevin VonErich runs out to help his brother to his feet and they are both screaming about the shenanigans we just so. Jerry Jarrett comes out and says he is going to get to the bottom of this. He asks the ref what he saw and is basically told nothing because the lights went out. Jarrett says that the lights went out due to a thunder storm in the area and since the ref saw nothing suspicious, we will have to live with the decision. Jerry Lawler will be the USWA representative in the UWF UNIFIED CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT ON MAY 4th AT THE COTTON BOWL! Lance Russell: So long from Memphis, Tennessee. agentofenton
Great use of the roster(s) here. The build for the UWF title has been really fun. The angle here with Kerry reminds me of Superclash 3, Kerry gets that Claw on...he's gonna win and...then a swerve and Lawler gets the big win. Fun shows, always good stuff. Looking forward to May 4th.

kevinmcfl
4/20/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 DALLAS, TEXAS “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling, a UWF Promotion, from the world’s most famous wrestling arena, The Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas. I am Lance Russell and along with “Playboy” Gary Hart. Last week we all saw a crazy finish in Memphis as the lights went out and somebody came in and Pearl Harbored Kerry Von Erich and Jerry the King Lawler was able to get the pin. Let’s bring in Fritz Von Erich and see if we can get to the bottom of this. Fritz VonErich: Well Lance, let me tell ya. I was just sick when I saw the video of that match. I was even sicker when I heard Jerry Jarrett upheld the ref’s decision when everybody knows Lawler only beat my boy after help from the outside. Gary Hart: I don’t think you have any prove of that. Fritz Von Erich: Well this is not a surprise. Gary Hart is once again going against my family. While we don’t have any evidence of what happened in the ring, we all saw Kerry have Lawler trapped in the Iron Claw. Then somehow, the lights just went out in the Mid-South Coliseim and next thing you know, the King of Memphis is on top in Memphis and we catch a glimps of some dark haired rat leaving the arena. Gary Hart: See, no prove Fritz VonErich: Well in fact we do, we have a video of that man leaving the arena and it was none other than that snake in the grass, Honky Tonk Wayne Ferris and while I can’t go back and reverse the decision as Jarrett has already upheld it, we are in DALLAS, TEXAS tonight. The crowd pops as he announces tonight’s main event which will be Kevin & Kerry Von Erich vs Jerry Lawler and Honky Tonk Man. Lance hypes this up as he takes us to our first match. Gary Hart: What a surprise, another VonErich main event! Fritz VonErich: Watch it Hart! ICEMAN PARSONS VS BUZZ TYLER A nice opening bout as the crowd really pops to a little Sister Sledge and “We Are Family.” Iceman seems to be on point here and takes the big man down with a high flying butt bump. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- UWF WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE PERFECT ALLIANCE (ARN ANDERSON & BOBBY EATON with Baby Doll) VS LEAPING LANNY POFFO & BRETT WAYNE SAWYER (NON-TITLE) The Perfect Alliance is showing off here against Poffo and Sawyer and they have everything under control. All of a sudden the crowd pops as Paul Ellering leads the Road Warriors to ringside and the Perfect Allliance looks like they have seen a ghost. They seem so worried that Animal and Hawk are going to rush the ring that they lose focus on their opponents. As Arn keeps on eye on the Road Warriors, Poffo sneaks up from behind and rolls up the champ for the three count. Lance Russell: Oh my! That might be the upset of the century and just think Gary, in a little over 3 weeks from now at the David VonErich Memorial, The Perfect Alliance must put their titles on the line against the Road Warriors and this time it will be NO DISQUALIFICATION. Gary Hart: For once, I agree with you Lance. I mean just the site of the Road Warriors has the Alliance shaking in their boots. They have survived the last two matches by Baby Doll helping to get her boys DQ’d but this time that won’t work! If you live anywhere near Dallas, Texas, get to the Cotton Bowl on May 4th! Wrestling history will be made. Mark my words! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- DINGO WARRIOR with GARY HART VS JOE SAVOLDI This time it is Dingo Warriors chance to use his power to scare his opponent and he delivers. Dingo is on a roll since hiring Playboy Gary Hart and he has gotten even meaner. Tonight is not different and he just pummels Savoldi all over the ring and gains the victory in under 3 minutes! Before the next match, Hart really hypes up his newest signee and this time it is Lance’s turn to agree with hos co-host. JIMMY GARVIN with NANNY SIMPSON VS JIMMY DEL RAY Now this is interesting. We all know that Garvin has lost the services of his valet for 90 days but it appears that he has quickly found a replacement. He is escorted to the ring by a beautiful, young blond who is introduced as Nanny Simpson. Lance Russell can’t help himself as he keeps telling us how easy Nanny is on the eyes. Before the match, Garvin and the young lady gives a little kissing show and then Garvin is off to work. He makes quick work of the rookie by playing it dirty at first and then finishing off Del Ray with a Brainbuster. At the interview desk, it is like Garvin remembers some things and forgets others. He is demanding a rematch against Kerry Von Erich for the USWA Title but whenever Lance brings up Precious he acts like he has no clue. The crowd pops as Precious rushes out to the interview desk but by the time she gets there Garvin and Nanny have exited stage left. As we go to break, you can almost see the steam coming from Precious’ ears! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- KEVIN &KERRY VON ERICH with Precious VS JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER & HONKY TONK WAYNE FERRIS What a main event here! We get about 2 minutes of chain wrestling as both sides prove they have some technical skill. Lawler plays it dirty here and Kevin has to fight from the bottom for a while. Eventually, he escapes the corner and tags in Kerry who goes wild. We get a little Bonzo Gonzo here with all 4 wrestlers brawling it out. All of a sudden, Precious is seen getting ready with her purse. As Lawler has Kerry backed up into the corner, Precious is about to nail Kerry in the back of the head when all of a sudden the Tennessee Stud Stable (Tommy Rich & Eddie Gilbert) rush to ringside and grab the purse and demand that she sit down. Lance Russell: See Gary, I told you that Wildfire did not intentionally cause Kevin VonErich his match two weeks ago! WHAM! Lance Russell: What is the Sam Hill is Tommy Rich doing. He just clocked Kerry with the purse! DING DING DING The ref has called for the bell but nobody can believe what we are watching. It is Lawler, Gilbert, Rich and Honkey Tonk Man just beating the snot out of the VonErichs. The crowd EXPOLDES as the cavalry comes and you want believe who the cavalry is. Dusty Rhodes and Blackjack Mulligan make the save and the tide is turned as Rhodes, Blackjack and the VonErichs are just throwing bodies . Soon the fan favorites are in charge of the ring and as Lance begins to sign off, we hear the American Dream yelling, “Don’t Mess With Texas!” Lance Russell: Folks, all roads lead to the Cotton Bowl on May 4th. So long from Dallas, Texas. Don’t forget to join us this week in Kansas City, Missouri. _________________________________________________________________________

kevinmcfl
USWA WRESTLING: 5/11/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 DALLAS, TEXAS The show begins with a short video clip of the David VonErich Memorial Parade of Champions show from last week’s event at the Cotton Bowl. We see Kevin VonErich, Blackjack Mulligan and Stan Hansen win the UWF World 6 Man Title, Kerry Von Erich defeat Jimmy Garvin to retain the USWA Title and Dusty Rhodes defeat Jerry Lawler and Austin Idol to become the first ever UWF Unified World Champion. “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling, a UWF Promotion, from the world’s most famous wrestling arena, The Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas. I am Lance Russell and along with “Playboy” Gary Hart. We have a real busy show for you and let’s get right to the ring. In fact, it is with the Dingo Warrior; one of the many wrestlers under the tutelage of my partner. Gary Hart: Not one of, the #1! MATCH: DINGO WARRIOR VS MIKE GRAHAM Even though Graham has the experience and the technical skill, he just can’t match the power of Dingo. Dingo is still a bit stiff but Graham does a good job of selling and bumping here. The end came with a Running Warrior Smash (Powerbomb) after about 4 minutes. Gary Hart comes back to the interview desk with his man and begins to sing his praises. He is demanding respect and title shots from Fritz when all of a sudden Jimmy Superfly Snuka comes out. Jimmy Snuka: (talking really slow and struggling a bit with the language) I am out a few weeks and you call this man with a child’s mask on your #1 guy? He is nothing compared to the Superfly! Gary Hart tries to calm the situation down but Snuka just throws his arms up and goes to walk away. WHAM! Dingo attacks from behind and with the Pearl Harbor attack, he is able to really give it to Snuka. During the savage beating on the savage, Hart is going nuts egging Dingo on. He loves what he sees and it is obvious that he truly does believe that Dingo is his #1 man. After a few minutes of this; Hart and Dingo walk off set and Lance takes us to break. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Lance Russell: What in the world was that all about Gary Hart? Gary Hart: That was business taking care of business. Snuka pretends to be hurt, says he leg is bothering him and leaves me high and dry for a month and then wants us to bow down to at his return. Well that is not how this works. Snuka may be a bad man but he has just gotten the wrath of the baddest man I have ever seen. Snuka, I will no longer need your services and if you are too stupid to understand this; listen closely. You are FIRED! Lance Russell: Come on Hart. Have you no loyalty? Snuka gave you his all. I mean I don’t respect some of the things he did but he was truly awesome. Now, you throw him away like yesterday’s trash because you don’t believe he was really hurt. Gary Hart: I am done talking about my business with you. Next topic. Lance Russell: Ok than. Let’s discuss the David VonErich Parade of Champions from the Cotton Bowl last week. What an event it was and we saw the Big Boys from Texas rise to the top. Kevin Von Erich, Mulligan. Hansen, Kerry VonErich all coming out on top and that is not even including the American Dream from West Texas winning the Unified World Title! Gary Hart: Well did you expect anything different with Fritz around. I mean the last ref who stood up to him was Bronco Lubich and he receive a 90 day suspension. The refs have no choice but give fast counts and bend the rules for his spoiled brats; I mean sons. Lance Russell: Come on now Gary! Enough is enough. The VonErichs performed wonderfully this week and deserve respect instead of you constantly demeaning them. Gary Hart: Well I just call it the way I see it and I see the truth! This brings Fritz out and he is fuming. Fritz Von Erich: Well this is not a surprise. Gary Hart is once again going against my family. The only problem is he is telling lie after lie. I hope my boys do well but this is wrestling and once they are inside that ring everything is on the up and up. I am so proud of their success but it comes from hard work and dedication. Gary Hart: Wow! You really sound like you belief what you are saying. That takes hard work. That takes dedication. To be able to keep a straight face while constantly lying about what is happening. Fritz VonErich: Hart, I think you just like to hear yourself talk. I promise each and everyone one of you watching today two things. First, my boys will never get special treatment and number 2, I will always do what is best for this company and what is best for this company right now is to remove you from this studio right now! Gary Hart: So like Lubich, I am being suspended for standing up to you and saying the truth. Fritz Von Erich: NO, you are not being suspended like Bronco Lubich. You are being fired immediately. When we come back from break, Lance Russell will be the only announcer. You will be replaced within the week. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Lance Russell: Well folks! You heard it from the boss. I am by myself this evening and that is just fine by me. Playboy Gary Hart and his opinions can wear on you. Let’s get back to the ring where we have the new UWF World TV Champion in the studio tonight. MATCH: UWF WORLD TV TITLE MATCH RUSHER KIMURA VS BRETT WAYBE SAWYER We get a few athletic moments from Sawyer but this is pretty much a showcase for the new champion he puts down Sawyer after a Running Lariat which followed up his patented throat slashing sign. He goes over to the interview desk where he basically starts screaming in Japanese. The only words that the audience understood were Americans which were followed by a gigantic gob of spit! MATCH: TOMMY “WILDFIRE” RICH VS RANDY BARBER A total squash match here where Rich comes out to mostly boos from the crowd. It doesn’t seem to bother him one bit as he is more “Wildfire” then normal. He goes right to the rough stuff and completely overwhelms Barber. The end comes after Rich followed up a knee to the gut with a Lou These Press. Rich is joined by the rest of the Tennessee Volunteer Army (Jerry Lawler, Eddie Gilbert and Honky Tonk Wayne Ferris) at the interview desk. Lawler is really upset and claims that Dusty Rhodes cheated in their Unified Title Match and he is demanding a rematch while Rich, Gilbert and Honky Tonk are demanding a shot at the 6 man titles held by Kevin Von Erich, Blackjack Mulligan and Stan Hansen. It seems its war on wrestlers from Texas. Jerry Lawler leaves us with a little joke here to really get the fans going. Jerry Lawler: Hey Lance, do you know the difference between a Texas Zoo and a zoo in the rest of America? In American’s zoos, husbands go with their wives. In a Texas zoo, husbands go to visit their wives! Lance Russell: On come on Jerry, that will be enough of that! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT: USWA HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE KERRY VON ERICH with PRECIOUS VS JIMMY GARVIN with NANNY SIMPSON Unfortunately we only have a few minutes for this match as some much has gone on tonight. The match was both inside and outside. Precious hauled off a few times on Nanny while Kerry was having a good night against Garvin. As the show comes to an end, we see Rip Rodgers come out and attack Kerry. This lead to a DQ but allowed Garvin and Rodgers to end the show with the upper hand. Lance Russell: What a night this has been. So long from Dallas, Texas.

kevinmcfl
5/18/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to UWF and USWA Wrestling from Memphis, Tennessee and the WMC Studio. I am Lance Russell along with our special guest announcer today, Jeff Jarrett. Remember folks, last week we saw Fritz fire my color commentator, Playboy Gary Hart and for the time being, we will being using guest announcers on a weekly basis. Well Jeff, how does this feel. I mean you have just turned 18 and now you are on TV as one of the announcers for the hottest wrestling program in the country. Jeff Jarrett: I must say that I am a bit nervous but my father told me that this would be the best way to become familiar with the family business. A business I plan on spending my entire life in. Oh, my dad also wanted me to say that if the boys down in Texas can do, it so can I. Whatever that means? Lance Russell: Well, yeah, I guess we will leave that alone and get right to the action. We have a huge main event for everyone today as it will be The Tennessee Volunteer Army; Tommy Rich, Eddie Gilbert and The Honky Tonk Man, Wayne Ferris vs Kevin Von Erich, Blackjack Mulligan and Stan Hansen for the UWF World 6 Man Titles! Jeff Jarrett: Go Vols! Lance Russell: ummm, well let’s get right to the ring for our first match. JERRY LAWLER VS RANDY BARBER Lawler makes quick work on Barber as the end comes by submission with a Royal Abominal Stretch. The fans go wild here for Lawler and he is definitely the king of Memphis. What a difference a few hundred miles make as Lance Russell reminds us that those fans down in Texas really gave him the business in the Cotton Bowl. Jeff Jarrett doesn’t understand as he quickly admits that The King is one of his idols! Lawler reminds Jeff to work hard and he could one day become the King of Memphis. Lawler then goes on with a bunch of one liners about the people of Texas. He also guarantees that in just a little while, his buddies, the Tennessee Volunteer Army are going to take the belts from the Toothless Texas. Jarrett laughs as Lance says, “That will be about enough of that.” ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- JIMMY GARVIN with NANNY SIMPSON VS TIGER CONWAY JR. After Tiger Conway Jr. rallied from a before the bell attack from Garvin, Jr. was all over Garvin. Unfortunately for Tiger, it seems that Garvin has been teaching Nanny some of the old tricks that he taught Precious. Garvin was able to back Tiger into the ropes and then caught him with a right hand. As the ref went to warn him, Nanny jumped up on the apron and clocked him over the head with what seemed to be another “loaded” purse. Garvin added a Brainbuster for show and it was all over. Garvin and Nanny seemed very confident and they were demanding a mixed tag match with Kerry VonErich and that turn coat Precious. Jeff Jarrett seemed very excited at the idea of this mixed tag match! MATCH: UWF TV TITLE MATCH RUSHER KIMURA VS MIKE GRAHAM We get some good chain wrestling here and both are doing a good job of bumping and selling. Kimura plays the heel well here as the tide turns after a low blow. Kimura then goes on the offensive and really gives it to Graham. Kimura gives his throat slashing sign and followed it up with a mighty running lariat. Instead of pinning Graham he pulls him up and then stands him up by the hair and connects with another big lariat. Both Jarrett and Lance Russell are upset but it doesn’t stop Kimura from doing it again. The crowd pops as Iceman Parsons rushes in to aid Graham and he gives Kimura a couple of big blows before he whips the champ into the ropes and connects with a Big Butt Bump that sends Kimura falling through the ropes. Iceman goes to Graham but keeps an eye on the champ. Kimura decides that discretion is the better part of valor and heads to the locker room Lance Russell: I am not sure we have seen the last of this one. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: DINGO WARRIOR VS LANNY POFFO A quick and easy win for the Warrior as he connects with a might powerslam. At the interview desk the Warrior plays down the importance of him not having a manager any longer now that Gary Hart has been fired. He is very confident that he helped Hart more than Hart helped him. He also says that he is not done with Superfly Snuka. Warrior is furious at Snuka who he says insulted him last week and that Snuka must be a little short on brains if he thought that he was the top dog in Hart’s stable. Lance Russell reminds Warrior that it was him who attacked Snuka to which Warrior said he already explained that and if Snuka gets in his way again, Snuka will be laid out again. All of a sudden we see the snake of all snakes appear. It is none other than Skandar Akbar. Lance Russell wants to know what he is doing in Memphis and Akbar responds, Business. Always business, Pencil Nose.” All we see is Warrior and Akbar walk off camera together and we are left wondering what that was all about. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: UWF WORLD 6 MAN TITLE MATCH THE TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER ARMY VS KEVIN VON ERICH, BLACKJACK MULLINGAN AND STAN HANSEN This Tennessee-Texas thing is really exploding and it is hard to say what is kayfabe and what is real. The Tennessee gang plays the heel but receives all the cheers. They are the ones refusing to break cleanly. They are the ones bending the double team rules and they are the ones controlling the match. That is until the big boys got fed up. Mulligan and Hansen are like wild men and it seems like they will retain their titles. That is until Lawler hits the scene. While he doesn’t get physically involved, it is obvious he is in charge. Tommy Rich is in a world of trouble as Hansen hit a major Big Boot. He tags in Kevin who climbs to the top rope and is about to hit a Von Erich Death Leap. He might have been a second too slow and Rich is halfway to his feet. Lawler makes some signal to Jerry Calhoun as VonErich hits Wildfire with the Splash. Their moment propels Rich to the matt and right over on top of VonErich. In what must have been one of the quickest counts in history, Wildfire pins VonErich as Jeff Jarrett goes wild on the microphone. He is so excited for the win by the local boys that he cannot hide any of his biases. Lance Russell: I can guarantee you one thing. Something had to give in the Texas-Tennessee War and tonight, it was the titles! What will happen next? So long from Memphis. Next week we are back in Dallas and we will hear what Fritz has to say

kevinmcfl
5/25/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 DALLAS, TEXAS “Yello again everybody. Welcome to USWA Wrestling, a UWF Promotion, from the world’s most famous wrestling arena, The Sportatorium in downtown Dallas, Texas. I am Lance Russell along with Fritz Von Erich. We have a real busy show for you and let’s get right to the ring. Fritz VonErich: Hold on a second Lance. I have something I have to get off my chest. I am unsure exactly what is going on lately but everyone except these great fans here in Dallas seem to be turning on my family and all the other great wrestlers from right here in Texas. Last week I had to relieve one Playboy Gary Hart of his duties here in the USWA and just this week it is obvious that the Memphis boys influenced referee Jerry Calhoun into helping the Tennessee Volunteer Army win the 6 Man belts from my son Kevin and his partners Blackjack Mulligan and Stan Hansen. Let’s go to the video tape to see what I am talking about. We see a quick video of Jerry Lawler signaling referee Jerry Calhoun who then makes what appears to be a very fast count against Kevin VonErich by Tommy “Wildfire” Rich. Fritz goes on to say that he is extremely frustrated at how his partnership with Jerry Jarrett and Memphis Wrestling is going. He had hoped that by joining forces with Jarrett that the USWA could grow but Jarrett seems to be making a mockery of everything USWA has been about since its inception. Fritz then gets really upset at how Jarrett seemed to mock his firing of Gary Hart by having his 18 year old son, Jeff, do the announcing on last week’s show. Fritz ends with the thought that he is unsure if the partnership can continue much longer. Lance seems to stutter a bit before getting us to the ring for our first match. This made some in the business wonder if Fritz’s statement was part of the show or has kayfabe been broken. MATCH: UWF WORLD TV CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH RUSHER KIMURA VS ICEMAN KING PARSONS An energy filled match that has a few momentum changes. Kimura takes over and the end seems near. He gives the throat slashing kill sign and then he whips Parsons off the ropes for the running clothesline. WHAM! Parsons had ducked under it and came of the ropes again but this time it was he who connected with his finisher… A Big Butt Bump and got the victory. Both Fritz and Russell hype up the fact that we have a new TV Champion. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- JIMMY SNUKA VS KELLY KINISKI An easy win for the Superfly and he really impressed everyone with the height of his Top Rope Death Leap at the end. The crowd was unsure how to treat Snuka as he has acted like a monster since coming to the USWA but Dingo calling him out last week seems to have given Superfly some support. After the match, we see Akbar, Crusher Blackwell and Ken Patera head to the ring and go after Snuka 3-1. Snuka took a pretty good beating here and when Akbar stopped by the interview desk, Fritz wanted to know what that was all about. Skandar Akbar: Last week I tried to add Dingo Warrior to my stable and he needed time to think about it. Well, I just wanted to show Dingo that when he does join us, that we have each other’s back and that he will quickly rise to the top. We also wanted to show him what happens when you don’t do what Devastation Inc. wants. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: 6 MAN UWF WORLD TITLE MATCH THE TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER ARMY (Tommy Rich, Eddie Gilbert & Honky Tonk Wayne Ferris) VS KEVIN VON ERICH, BLACKJACK MULLIGAN & MIKE GRAHAM In a wild match, we see Mike Graham fill in for Stan Hansen who had contractual observations elsewhere. As one would expect, Graham gets trapped in the wrong corner and eventually makes the tag to VonErich who takes control. The action is fast and furious and it seems like we will have new champs until Jerry Lawler rushes in with a chair. This gets the champs DQ’d but they keep their belts. At the interview desk, Lawler warns Fritz about getting in his way and he doesn’t care if he is in the Lone Smell State! Lawler says they he had to make sure that his Tennessee buddies don’t get cheated again down here in Dallas! This seemed to forever cement the idea that if wrestlers are from Tennessee and they are in Texas they are going to be booed till the cows come home! All of a sudden the crowd explodes as Mike and Kerry join Kevin and Blackjack and they rush after the Tennessee Volunteer Army who runs for the hills. Kevin gets on the mic and says he doesn’t care if it is in Memphis but the Texas boys will get their titles back this week! Kerry is joined by Precious as the take a moment to hype of their feud with Jimmy Garvin and Nanny. Lance reminds us that he and his brother will be facing Garvin and Rip Rodgers next and this week the USWA Title will be on the line against Garvin in the Mid-South Coliseum! Kerry is very confident is his return but the fans are most excited as Precious dares Nanny to get her in her way. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT MATCH: RIP RODGERS & JIMMY GARVIN with NANNY SIMPSON VS MIKE & KERRY VON ERICH with PRESCIOUS A wild 8 minute brawl here that has the VonErichs on top at the beginning. We then get a little face in peril time as Mike gets caught in the wrong corner but he somehow escapes and tags in his brother who comes in like a house afire. He quickly clears the ring and the action spills out onto the floor for a bit. Back inside the ring, we see Kerry clamp the claw on Rip Rodgers and finish him off with the Tornado Punch. Garvin was about to rush in and make the save but Precious was one step ahead of him. She rushed over and shoved Nanny out of the way and tripped Garvin on his way into the ring. The VonErichs and Precious celebrated as the heels were furious! Before ending the show, Lance Russell reminds us of the great card coming up in the Mid-South Coliseum this week and that it will be the Dingo Warrior vs Jimmy Snuka along with the main event between Jimmy Garvin and Kerry VonErich for the USWA Heavyweight title. Lance Russell: So long from Dallas!
gordi
Nice use of "face in peril" I like Parsons using his quickness to counter Kimura's power and aggression
SirEdger
I was kinda expecting to see Kimura have a longer reign but in hindsight, given how Iceman is over in that area, it's a smart decision in the end. Will elevate the TV title further in the card.
