donsem43
Visa issue. I couldn't find the exact tweet, but someone on twitter said that her employer at her other job was behind her work visa and they decided not to renew it. She could come back in the future once she has her non-wrestling life settled but that might be awhile. Still, she has a fair number of indie dates in the foreseeable future so it's not like she will disappear completely.

donsem43
The tag title match from the 2/12 Ice Ribbon show was pretty great. The best Ice Ribbon match in awhile that didn't involve Tsukasa Fujimoto or a big name outsider. Hopefully we start seeing more matches at this level from a young roster that is loaded with talent. stunning_grover
I hope some of the experts on current joshi puroresu will be able to answer these questions... Â Does anyone know when the Dream Slam shows will be available on Stardom World? Will it be streamed live? I'm currently not subscribed to Stardom World (although I'm considering subscribing at some point), but I'm just curious. Â Also, is Pro Wrestling Wave streaming Catch the Wave tournament matches soon after they happen (or live?)? That's another one I'm considering subscribing too. Â Please let me know about this (and/or any other info about joshi puroresu subscription-based streaming services). I'm currently subscribed to New Japan World and WWE Network, but I feel that I should subscribe to at least one joshi puroresu streaming service. Any recommendations? Or any other good ways to keep up-to-date with current joshi puroresu? I want to start watching current joshi puroresu on a more regular basis again. I've been a bit out of the loop. Â Stardom usually gets full shows up pretty quickly, at least by my standards, given their resources and that they go to the trouble of subtitling all promos. I want to say full shows are generally up within a week or so, but you can check their Twitter feed as they post when every match goes up. That should give you a sense of timing. Â Stardom World is the only joshi site I subscribe to, but you can follow other promotions that don't have sub sites through the puroresudream site. Donsem and others may have some recs for other companies's subscription offerings.
stunning_grover
Sounds good. Thanks for the info!
donsem43
Yeah, Stardom World is pretty good at getting shows up quickly. Typically, if a show happens on the weekend, they do a match a day so the entire show is up by Friday. If they have multiple shows they usually double up on the undercard to stay on top of it. So it's possible that all of the DreamSlam shows will be up by the end of next weekend. Â WAVE Network is inconsistent in their uploading in a frustrating way. For example, the last two Korakuen Hall shows have gone up less than a week after they happened, but other shows can take quite awhile. Plus, they might only upload a match or two from a show. So WAVE Network is best used as something you subscribe to for a month or so every once and awhile. Â I haven't subscribed to either DDT Universe (for Tokyo Joshi Pro) or Marvelous. I believe that the big TJP show are steamed live and the others are uploaded fairly quickly. I've also read that Marvelous shows go up fairly quickly to. donsem43
If you want to watch the Explosion Death Match that happen today, Stardom stated that it will be up on Stardom World tomorrow.
donsem43
Well, I think that match worked as a spectacle but that's pretty much it. The build to the first bat shot was well done. It was shocking when Kagetsu hit Io with the bat because I was expecting Io to avoid it at least one more time before it hit. I'm not death match expert, but I don't understand how the second bat shot didn't directly lead to the finish. Especially after Natsu sold it like she was done only for everyone else to just start working like it was a finish to a regular tag match. I don't know, I guess just find gifs of the bat shots and that's really all that you need to see.
donsem43
Stardom must have some new owners/investors. New belts and dojo. Fuka leaving as GM/Ring Announcer and them no longer using her dojo for training. The fact that they are resetting the company on the April 15 show. A little too much happening at once to not have some significant changes behind the scenes.

I will rewatch it but it felt that Io came off as the star of the match instead of getting Tam over.

A little too much happening at once to not have some significant changes behind the scenes. The new dojo looks like the old kickboxing place they used to train at before but I could be wrong. I know the ZERO 1 dojo is closing so that's why Stardom moved but also Sonny (Stardom English Rep) said on Reddit that subscribers picked up once they partnered with ROH. Take that for what it's worth.
donsem43
I think the people who are high on the match are the ones who are really into the Tam/Oedo Tai storyline. Even looking at the match from that angle, I don't think it did a good job doing capitalizing off of that story. Yeah, Tam hit Mean Girl Sumire with the bat and pinned her but neither of those moments where as dramatic as they should have been.

donsem43
Finished watching the first two of Stardom's DreamSlam shows. The only match that I would say that people really need to see is Toni/Viper from the 3/28 show. The tag title match on the 3/31 show is pretty good to but I liked the Apache's match with Io/HZK from the 3/21 show a bit more. As a whole, the 3/31 show is pretty disappointing because it looked like it could be a fun show on paper. The most amusing thing about the show was seeing all of the creepers in the crowd. Hopefully the 4/1 show will be better with Viper/Jungle and Toni/Iwatani.
aguakun
Sumire has been killing it this year. I've always enjoyed her work, but since leaving WAVE I feel she has reached a high level. She's become one of my absolute favorites to watch, her stuff with Oedo Tai is gold.
Mrzfn
I too have been loving Sumire this year. I hadn't seen her before but right now she looks like a potential big star in the making, especially in terms of being charismatic.
jushin muta liger
The Viper/Jungle and Toni/Mayu matches didn't disappoint to me on the 4/1 show. I like the story they are telling with Jungle with her being able to hang with the top women but not get over the hump. It's gonna so satisfying when she finally wins a singles title or a tournament. Â I told Grimmas on Twitter that Mayu was selling Toni's piledrivers like Toni became Lawler in Memphis. Great job making Toni look like a world champ. jushin muta liger
Meiko vs. Io from the 4/19 Sendai Girls show is phenomenal. The 4/19 show is a must see for fans of Joshi or fans are having an interest but don't know how to jump into watching it. Â But some bad news today as Ayako Hamada vacated the title as she was supposed to defend it against DASH Chisako. Sendai Girls official statement was that she was in "poor physical condition" and handed the title back to the Senjo office. Hope she gets better.
