TonyPulis'Cap
It's not from WCW, but when you guys were talking about the Armstrong curse and those recurring, subtle stories or running gags that played out for years, one of my favourites is from Wrestlemania 23 when Vince gets his head shaved. During the period when you had Vince, King and JR on commentary the other two - esp. King - were always ragging on Vince for having a toupe. Fast forward 10 years and when he's getting his head shaved, JR shouting out "it was real all along!" is a moment I always pop for. Anyway, loving the show guys - really helping fill that void of nostalgia left by the end of Letters from Kayfabe.
cheapshot
Hello Baseball Cap of auld Tony, Thanks you for listening and supporting the show brother! That's a great example, the whole Vince has a toupe thing has been going since the 80's. I know Jesse used to rib Vince about it all the time on commentary. jpchicago23
This show is becoming a priority in my rotation. It always takes me back and its such a fun, nostalgic listen. TravJ1979
What is the link to that women's match Chad and Charles called 5 stars. That has to be a mistake. The best match in WCW women's history is Madusa/Hokuto at GAB '97. Madusa's "retirement". Although she worked Luna during the nwo Germany tour later that month which is also a good match. The only thing that comes close to those are the Mona/Brandi Alexander series in early 1999.

King Kang
Worth noting the 8-4 Nitro with the title change was the night after the Summer Slam with the hot HBK-UT angle. Seems like title change was counter programming, rather part of master story planning by WCW
cheapshot
A glaring omission, we forgot to list Chris Cruise as a WCW commentator.
BigBadMick
Just listening to the ranking the years segments now. Allan, I don't know if you were tape trading with Rob Butcher back then, but I picked up the 'Best of WCW - The Hogan Years' tapes. In three 4 hour tapes he covered the Best matches from july 94 to May 96. Bargain!
cheapshot
I was trading with Rob back then, but didn't get that tape at the time. I was more busy getting FMW, ECW and AJPW tapes. Side note: I rang him up at 7.30am in the morning once before school, asking if he had ECW's Heatwave 1995, he wasn't best pleased because a. I woke him up & b. The commercial tapes didn't surface for months after the event. In my defence, I assumed because PS "reviewed" the show and they published photos that it was available. Basically Fin was getting reports from George Tahinos and others and didn't actually stipulate he himself hadn't seen these shows. I've laughed about it Rob in recent years.
