dawho5
Original Airdate 3/7/86 (Originally airing in Spanish on WAPA Channel 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This broadcast is translated to English where applicable.) The opening montage featuring highlights of Carlos Colon, Chicky Starr, Invader 1, Invader 2, Invader 3, Abdullah the Butcher, Hercules Ayala, Bam Bam and Dutch Mantell plays. Carlos Colon doing a cartwheel and coming up fists at the ready leads to the WWC logo as the music ends. NWA and Capitol Sports Presenta Los Campeones De La Lucha Libre Con Tus Luchadores Favoritos De Fama Mundial Rickin Sanchez and Hugo Savinovich sit smiling at the commentary desk in Coliseo Municipal Pedro Rodriguez Gaya De Catano. Rickin: Welcome to another great week of World Wrestling Council television fans. I am joined as alwas by the one and only Hugo Savinovich. Hugo: Geat to be here Rickin!! What a show we have tonight! Rickin: Indeed we do. We will see Ricky Santana and Invader 3 in singles action. Hugo: There has been a tournament announced for a new belt, the NWA WWC Light Heavyweight Championship. Both are sure to be involved and favorites to win! Rickin: That tournament will include some international flavor as well, as we will be seeing participants from the United States and Japan in addition to the light heavyweights we already have in the WWC. Hugo: And we have a loaded light heavyweight division! Rickin: We certainly have some talented wrestlers under 230 pounds. Santana, Owen Hart, Huracan Castillo Jr., Tommy Lane of the Rock and Roll RPMs, Gama Singh and Invader 3 all fall into that category. Hugo: And Chicky Starr!! Rickin: He does qualify, but I think Chicky has his hands full with the Carribean Tag Team Titles right now. Invader 2 would have been among the names listed, but he is injured and may not heal in time to make the tourney. Hugo: Chicky's name hasn't been mentioned in connection to the tourney, so you're probably right... Rickin: Tonight we will also see los Super Medicos in tag team action. Hugo: And los Pastores! Rickin: Not sure what to think of that just yet. After last week they have to be considered very dangerous. Hugo: Yes! I imagine Invader 1, Hercules Ayala and Carlitos will be ready to save Invader 3 should they attack! Rickin: One hopes so. I will be talking to Invader 3 before his match as well as los Super Medicos. Los Mercenarios will pay their second visit to Chicky's Sports Shop. Hugo: I'm sure Chicky is happy with them! Rickin: Yes, they were instrumental to Ron and Chicky Starr winning their belts. We will hear from Carlitos Colon before he and Hercules Ayala try to wrest the Carribean Tag Team Titles from los Primos Starr, Hugo: HUGE main event!! Rickin: And reason for me to....agree with Chicky Starr. He has the right idea about defending the titles on television despite the fans not being kind. Hugo: I'm glad you're coming around on Chicky! Rickin: I wouldn't go that far. RIcky Santana is up first tonight andhe's getting a great reaction from this crowd. Hugo: They really have adopted him as one of their own! Rickin: He has tried to do things the right way. I can see him reaching a breaking point soon with Owen Hart's underhanded tactics. Hugo: It's going to happen sooner or later... Rickin: And Owen Hart will surely have some accusatory or hurt remarks on the subject. Hugo: Not all attacks are physical!! Rickin: A hard lesson to learn. Santana is in the ring and Ricky Vargas is calling for the bell. Frank Conners vs. Ricky Santana Santana uses his babyface technical offense to control the match. Conners tries a vertical suplex, but Santana goes over the top and lands on his feet. A German suplex by Santana gets the 3 count. Ricky Santana by pinfall in 4:33 with a German suplex Rickin: Ricky Santana with a very good countermove for the win. Shades of Owen Hart in that suplex. Hugo: Ricky Santana has learned how to attack without being physical too! Rickin: Indeed, he is maturing very quickly. He will be somebody to watch in the tournament. Up next we will har from Invader 3 before his match. Don't go anywhere fans. (Commercial Break) 0-9:00 Rickin: Welcome back fans. I am pleased to be speaking with the strongfavorite in the upcoming light heavyweight tournament, Invader 3. Invader 3: Thank you for that Rickin. It's not the first thing on my mind right now though. My friend, Invader 2, was recently injured at the hands of Ron and Chicky Starr. He is recovering quickly and thanks the fans for their support. Myself, Hercules Ayala and Carlitos Colon are all very angry about this, but Invader 1 has taken it very personally. In fact, he has gone to the WWC commission and demanded a match with the Starrs, title or not, on April 19th in Roberto Clemente Stadium. Rickin: It seems you might have problems with los Pastores enough to make that a mistake. Invader 3: It does. But we couldn't just sit back and let los Pastores injure other wrestlers for no reason. That is something we will never be able to ignore. Rickin: Do you worry about los Pastores being in the building tonight? Invader 3: Of course. I have backup close at hand though, we know how they operate. As for the light heavyweight tournament, I am looking forward to competing against some of the best light heavyweights in the world. We have a few of them right here in the WWC. I hope to face Ricky Santana, he's been a lot of fun to train with and watch. Rickin: Who would you consider a favorite in the tournament? Invader 3: RIcky and Owen Hart come to mind. Hart is very skilled, he just needs to learn how to respond to close matches without taking shortcuts. Against somebody like Chicky Starr you have to make sure to beat him to the punch, but Ricky will wrestle a man clean all the way through a match, win or lose. Rickin: Something we both wish Owen Hart would learn. Invader 3: Gama Singh is also a threat, he's a veteran with a lot of experience. And he's been just as low down and dirty as Chicky Starr ever got, so he knows all of the tricks. Huracan Castillo Jr. is an up and coming guy with a lot of energy and he is second generation. You have to be careful of the international wrestlers too. You never know what you will be facing with them. I'd say it's a wide open tournament. Rickin: Thank you for your time, sir. It's always a pleasure talking with you. Invader 3: Same to you Rickin. Invader 3 heads to the ring to the cheers of the crowd. Rickin: What did you think of his analysis of the tournament Hugo? Hugo: I agree with most of it. I don't think Castillo or Lane will do as well in a singles environment when they have been in so many tags of late. The international wrestlers are always dangerous as he said. Rickin: Do you think Invader 3 is a favorite? Hugo: He's the most skilled light heavyweight wrestler in Puerto Rico. But I'd say owen Hart and Ricky Santana are closing the gap. Gama Singh is definitely a threat. Rickin: I like that Invader 3 is as humble as he is. There are those that would proclaim themselves the champions due to the rest ofthe field being beneath them. Hugo: I know who you are talking about and you are right. But I don't think Chicky would be wrong either!! There is no shame in being confident!! RIckin: I would call it cocky and overconfident. Ring announcer Eliud Gonzalez has finished the ring introductions and there is the bell. Domingo Robles vs. Invader 3 Invader 3 shows off his punches, matwork and a vertical suplex in the early going. Robles with his usual comedy stooging. A Robles eye rake puts him in charge, but Invader catches him with a dropkick that sends Robles outside. Bullet tope by Invader 3 to a huge pop. He rolls Robles back in and hits the cannonball for the 3 count. Invader 3 by pinfall in 4:08 with a cannonball (top rope somersault senton) Hugo: What a great match for Invader 3!! Rickin: He did it all there. We are in for a - Hugo: Pastores!! And they are after Invader 3 with that flagpole!! RIckin: They are targeting his ribs and being quick about it as they see Ayala, Invader 1 and Colon coming. Hugo: Is the damage done?!? Rickin: Invader 3 looks hurt. I'm not sure how badly. We'll have to wait and find out. Up next we'll see los Mercenarios in Chicky's Sports Shop and los Pastores in tag team action. Lets hope they are done beating people up with the flagpole for the night. (Commercial Break) 9:30-17:00 Hugo: Weeee're baaaack! AND it's time for Chicky's Sports Shop!! The intro for the Sports Shop plays and we cut to the set. Cue Victor. Victor (wooden): It is my pleasure to introduce the hottest wrestler and manager in the World Wrestling Council. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the most exciting, most charismatic, best dressed man in Puerto Rico, Chicky Starr. Chicky walks in wearing his athletic gear capped off with one of the Caribbean Tag Team Championships around his waist and sits down, not at all smiling. Chicky: The WWC showed some footage last week that I was going to address this week. I've got my lawyers working on the problem as I sit here talking and the WWC can expect to hear from them sooner rather than later. Chicky pauses to collect himself. Chicky: Bruiser Brody has been officially released from my service because the man, if you can call a man that barks as he stampedes around a man, is uncontrollable. He can't win a championship if he can't stay anywhere near a damned ring. When Abdullah the Butcher seems like a genius next to you, what does that say? Chicky shakes his head and nods to himself. He starts to smile as he continues. Chicky: Now on to the good news. Most of you at home know that los Mercenarios were, let's say, financially motivated to make things a little easier for Ronnie and myself. Sure we could have won the tournament without them, and we certainly managed in the finals, but as my friend Hugo Savinovich always says, "every advantage counts!" Chicky grins into the camera. Chicky: As such, the two men now walking into the Shop are now far more well off than they were a month ago. If you want to spend it all at once there wil be more coming! Los Mercenarios sit down and Merc 1 picks up a microphone. Merc 1: So you liked our work then? Chicky: I have this! (Points at the belt) I think that speaks for itself. I also learned that I need to surround myself with allies if I want to keep all of my bones intact. Merc 1: Or have your allies break bones first. Chicky: You see? I LOVE the way you think! So much that I am willing to bring you on full-time as....associates in the Starr Corporation. Because I do not run an army, I run a business. Merc 1: If the pay is right. Chicky: We can discuss that after the show. I'd like to think that we can reach a deal, based on our earlier negotiations. Merc 1: Yes, your offer was generous enough the first time. Just know two things. First, to keep us on full time costs more. And second, if we get contracts on wrestlers you haven't told us not to attack we will take them. Chicky: I can agree with that. On to some personal business. The WWC has told me that Invader 1 is already demanding a shot at the tag titles. To that I say, you haven't earned anything! BUT! Not only are my cousin and I fighting champions, but we liked leaving you a bloody mess so much we are going to do it again on April 19th! You have your match. Merc 1: If you need something done about that sooner, we can discuss price. Chicky: We can, yes. It's time for the Nature Boy Ric Flair to take us out. The recording of Flair's sign off plays as Chicky Starr and los Mercenarios exit the set. Cut back to the arena. Hugo: Our first match for Roberto Clemente!! Rickin: And a big one, if it happens. It seems los Mercenarios have found themselves permanent employment. Hugo: Almost! Chicky will have to pay them first! Rickin: They served him well for the tournament. I imagine he will. Hugo: Chicky doesn't like to throw money away! We'll see! Rickin: I suppose we will. I don't know what to expect as we see los Pastores come out. Hugo: Hopefully los Tejanos know better than to interrupt their flag salute! Rickin: If they were in the building last week I doubt they will do anything but watch. Hugo: Do you think that will make any difference?!? Rickin: No idea. I've never understood what motivated los Pastores. Hugo: Maybe they just like chaos and do everything they can to create it? Rickin: That's as close as I have ever come to any real idea myself. Hugo: Here they go with the flag! I think they do this to make their opponents mad. Rickin: That seems about right. Hugo: It certainly makes the crowd angry! Rickin: I imagine the earlier attack on Invader 3 helps there. Hugo: It would. Los Pastores are done quickly and rush the ring to attack los Tejanos! Rickin: Referee Tomas Marin has called for the bell. Los Tejanos vs. Los Pastores Los Pastores are dominant, but get DQed for using the flag pole. Ayala, Invader 1 and Colon run htem off with chairs. Los Tejanos win by DQ in 2:58 when los Pastores begin using the flagpole. Rickin: More of the same. Hugo: I hope los Pastores are not in the building for the main event or it won't last long! Rickin: It would gaurantee Ron and Chicky Starr hanging on to their belts. Hugo: I don't think Chicky wants los Pastores anywhere near after what happened with Bruiser Brody! Rickin: That's...probably true. We'll be back after these messages with los Super Medicos at the desk before their match. (Commercial Break) 17:00-24:00 Rickin: We're back fans. We have received word again that los Pastores have been removed from the building. Los Super Medicos have made their way to the desk. You two had a tough loss to los Primos Starr with Super Medico 2 injured at the hands of the Starrs as well. Medico 1: Super Medico 2 was due to retire very soon anyway, but he's been a good partner for a long time. I hate seeing him go out like this and the Starrs will pay! Rickin: Los Invaders have already signed a contract to battle los Primos Starr on April 19th. We'll have to see how badly injured Invader 3 is before we know whether or not that match takes place. Medico 1: I have this feeling that if Invader 3 is even close to recovered he will be there. Invader 2 was injured by the Starrs as well. In the meantime I will be tagging with Super Medico 3. We will be sharpening up our teamwork for when we getthe opportunity to get our revenge on the Starrs. RIckin: It takes time to build tag team chemistry and make the teamwork smoother. Medico 1: It does. Super Medico 3 and I have teamed before. Twelve men have teamed with me as a Super Medico before and there is some level of comfort with al of them. For a team like the Starrs, Super Medico 3 and I will need to be on the same page all match. We will be spending some time preparing for that match, whether it comes in April or later. Rickin: I wish you luck in that endeavor. Medico 1: Thank you Rickin, but it will take dedication, hard work and repetition to get that done. We have no shortage of any of those things. Los Super Medicos head to the ring to cheers from the crowd, stopping to greet some fans along the way. Rickin: A tough task ahead for los Super Medicos. Hugo: Yes! Teams need time to gel, even if they have teamed some before. Super Medico 3 won't be in the same places or use the same moves as Super Medico 2. Rickin: As Super Medico 1 mentioned, they should be able to get used to one another over time. Hugo: That is really what it takes! After you have tagged with a man enough you know how they wrestle. You know where they need you to be and how to best complement them. It's what separates great tag teams from good ones. It is also the difference between a tag team and two stars who are teaming together. Rickin: It is also why some wrestlers struggle in a singles environment. Hugo: Yes. When you are used to a man covering your weak spots or saving you from an opponent, it can be difficult to finish out matches in singles competition. Rickin: There is the bell, we are ready to start. Mr. X & Y vs. Super Medico 1 & 3 Medicos work together well enough, but spend a bit more times than they ought to in the ring without tagging. Mr. X takes advantage on 3, but is cut off by a backdrop. Medico 3 tags in Medico 1, who scoops 3 up and slams him down on top of X for the 3. Super Medicos by pinfall in 5:49 with a slam/senton combination Rickin: Not as smooth as 1 and 2, but it worked. Hugo: They need work before they are ready for los Primos Starr! Rickin: They said as much before the match, but I agree. Luckily they have time. Up next we'll hear from Carlitos Colon before our big main event. Hugo: I don't think Ayala and Colon can take the titles from Ron and Chicky! They are not enough of a team!! Rickin: I don't think you want to miss what's coming up fans. We'll be right back. (Commercial Break) 24:00-33:00 Rickin: Welcome back fans. None other than Carlitos Colon has joined me at the desk. We have seen a lot in the last few weeks, we know what is foremost on your mind though. Colon: Ron and Chicky Starr crossed a line! What they did to Invader 2 is unacceptable! Rickin: If you listen to Chicky Starr, what Hercules Ayala did to Al Madril is the catalyst for that happening. Colon: Hercules Ayala breaking Al Madril's leg was due to Madril's endless taunting after putting Victor Jovica out of the WWC for the last few months. You may have noticed that Hercules took that whole situation very personally. Rickin: And it appears that Chicky Starr took Madril's leg being broken just as personally. Colon: That might be true. He also might just be using it as an excuse to do something he intended to do anyway. Either way, it doesn't end there! Tonight Hercules Ayala and I will make sure Ron and Chicky Starr don't keep the Caribbean Tag Championships any longer. Rickin: If the Sports Shop is any indication, Chicky Starr seems to be getting ready for a fight. Colon: He has always been smart. He knows we are coming for him and he's going to be ready for us. But that won't stop us from avenging our fallen brother! Los Pastores have something to answer for as well. Rickin: It's never good to fight too many enemies at once and you seem to have no shortage these days. In addition to Chicky Starr's corporation and los Pastores, it's likely Bam Bam will want the Universal Championship sooner rather than later. Colon: And I'll be ready to take him on. He has proved himself to be a very tough man in addition to his size and strength. And if Bruiser Brody comes back without Chicky Starr as his manager I will deal with that too! Rickin: Brody was out of control in Guaynabo. Not difficult to believe given that it was Bruiser Brody. Colon: Not at all. He is difficult enough to fight when he stays within the confines of the wrestling ring. It's another story when he's rampaging around ringside. But I will continue to fight whatever fight I need to for all of these fans! It's like I told Ric Flair. This belt (points to the Universal Championship) is a symbol of hope for the Puerto Rican people! I defend it with pride knowing that! Not for me, but for all of these people! Colon raises the belt above his head and begins to work his way through the adoring crowd back to the aisle where Invader 1 and Hercules Ayala wait. Rickin: Carlitos seems like he is pretty emotional about Invader 2's injury. Hugo: Both he and Invader 1 probably think they could have done more. Rickin: That is very likely. It is something Chicky Starr will try to manipulate. Hugo: Don't forget that Hercules Ayala and Carlitos are not regular tag partners. That will work against them as well! Rickin: Both are accomplished singles wrestlers and hold titles. That might be enough to tip the scales in their favor. Hugo: Sometimes it works out like that. Most times the more experienced team will win. Rickin: Both are no strangers to the odds being stacked against them. Ayala and Colon have reached the ring, and the crowd lets us know that Ron and Chicky Starr are on their way to the ring. And Al Madril Hugo: Chicky seems to be enjoying showing off his belt to the crowd! Rickin: I think we all knew he would. Chicky has always wanted the adoration of the crowd. Hugo: It's starting to look like he'll take the opposite as well... Rickin: He is starting to look more like a man who thrives on the crowd hating him. Perhaps winning the tag titles with his cousin has given him a confidence boost. Hugo: I never saw Chicky as the type to need a confidence boost! Rickin: The idea is not the most pleasant. Madril is in a very pleasant mood given his condition. Hugo: It's hard to bring Al down! Ron and Chicky are handing him the belts. I am starting to wonder if he's not here to- Rickin: Referee Victor Qunionez has called for the bell and we're off. Hercules Ayala & Carlitos Colon vs. Los Primos Starr © for the NWA WWC Caribbean Tag Team Championships Ayala and Colon are on fire early, bouncing both Starrs around the ring. Colon gets too close to the Starrs corner after being baited by Chicky and is the victim of double teams by the Starrs. Colon is bloodied by Ron outside the ring using the ringpost. Chicky cuts off a comeback attempt by Colon with a blatant low blow from his knees. Colon with a reverse kick to the groin to Chicky but he can't make the tag as Ron cuts him off. A jumping headbutt knocks Ron down but Colon is to dazed to make the tag right away. He barely makes the tag as Chicky takes a tag from Ron and Ayala comes in hot. He bounces off the ropes and takes a brutal shot from Madril with the crutch at ringside. Ron hits the ring and DDTs Ayala before laying into Colon with right hands. Colon fires back, but can't get over to break up Chicky's cover on Ayala. The Starrs win the match by pinfall. Los Primos Starr by pinfall in 16:24 with a brainbuster DDT Hugo: What a match! And I KNEW it!! Al was here for revenge! Rickin: The Starrs are shielding him from a very angry Invader 1 and Carlitos Colon. Hugo: Al better make a break for it! Well as much as he can because there is a brawl about to start! RIckin: It looks like los Mercenarios have come out to protect Madril as the fight breaks out between the Starrs, Invader 1 and Colon. And Ayala is coming to in the ring. We have to go fans. Be sure to tune in next week.
spaldoni
Great show. A lot of emotion on this episode. I love the direction these feuds are going. Santana is looking strong and Invader 3 was a class act. Los Pastores are causing havoc and I'm sure will pay for what they did to Invader 3. I like the story here with the Super Medicos. The Light heavyweight tournament should be action packed. It will be interesting to see Brody come back without Chicky. Speaking of Chicky, the man always has a plan LOL. The main event was great and set up more intriguing angles. Al gets a bit of revenge even with a broken leg. Really liked the fire Colon expressed tonight. LowBlowPodcast
PR continues to roll with some fantastic story telling. Always interesting to see Colon go down in the main event and have to find a way to fight back. He is a man's man down there which makes it that much more special. GeneJackson95
SUPER Main Event with a great build up! Love the build up for Santana as well, the story telling between he and Owen has developed both of them in the process! Chicky on the wrong side of Brody should be interesting to see play out! dawho5
Original airdate March 14th, 1986 (Originally airing in Spanish on WAPA Channel 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rickin: Welcome to another week of great wrestling from the World Wrestling Council. I am joined as always by the one and only Hugo Savinovich. Hugo: Another great main event this week Rickin!! Rickin: That and more. We will see Owen Hart and TNT in action tonight. Hugo: Both very talented young wrestlers! And exciting!! Rickin: I agree on both counts, but I would add misguided as well. We will see Huracan Castillo Jr. and Miguelito Perez wrestle tonight after they stop by the desk. Hugo: They have been struggling a little bit since separating themselves from Miguel Perez as a manager, but I have seen some signs of improvement they needed to make too. RIckin: There are mistakes we all need to learn not to make on our own. We will see Super Medico 1 and 3 in tag team action again this week. Barrabas and Bam Bam will join Chicky Starr in the Sports Shop this week. Hugo: That will be a very interesting show! I hope Chicky knows what he is doing... Rickin: As much as I hate to say it, he usually does. Gama Singh will be out to the desk, as will commissioner Pedro Castillo. Hugo: He has plenty to talk about! Rickin: Yes, things have gotten a little wild since our show in Guaynabo on February 22nd. I will be talking with Hercules Ayala and Invader 1 before the main event that sees them facing los Mercenarios. Hugo: That's two star-studded main events in the last two weeks! Rickin: We will also have more information on the upcoming tournament for the WWC Light Heavyweght Championship. Owen Hart is heading to the ring and the crowd is letting him know what they think of him. Hugo: He doesn't know how to react to this yet. It just seems to make him angry! Rickin: Owen Hart is a man with all the talent in the world, but he seems to get angry or take shortcuts when things don't go his way. Hugo: I think you just described the majority of young wrestlers! Rickin: I don't know about the majority. Ricky Santana seems to stay within the rulebook to a fault. Hugo: You're finally starting to see how it can be a fault! Rickin: I always did, I just disagree with that way of wrestling as a default. Owen Hart is in the ring offering a handshake to Frank Conners and referee Ricky Vargas calls for the bell. Frank Conners vs. Owen Hart Conners takes the handshake, which leads to a simple handshake and Hart screaming at the crowd for misjudging him. Conners takes the opportunity to blindside Owen when this goes on too long. Hart is upset and gets aggressive in his comeback. He hits a belly to belly suplex after slapping Conners around and climbs up top. Hart hits a missile dropkick for the 3. Owen Hart by pinfall in 4:53 with a missile dropkick Rickin: Not the most professional conduct by Owen Hart. But he did keep it clean. Hugo: Conners did attack him from behind! Rickin: Once the bell rings it is a good idea to keep your eyes on your opponent. Gama Singh has made his way to the desk. (English) You are one of the favorites in the upcoming Light Heavyweight Title tournament. How do you see your chances? Singh: I won't be in the tournament. TNT is not involved and I am not close to finished with him, despite what El Profe may think. I want to wrestle TNT on April 19th at Roberto Clemente Coliseum! Rickin: It must be difficult to keep your attention on TNT with El Profe at ringside. The man does know how to draw attention to himself. Singh: Yes, and there is always the danger of him getting nivolved in the match. But I let myself forget that TNT is the real threat long enough to get caught. Rickin: Do you have any plan for dealing with El Profe in a rematch? Singh: I've thought of a few things. He is a smart man, but that can work against you as well as for you. Rickin: Is it TNT or El Profe that you are looking to beat? Singh: I want to wrestle TNT. He is a talented, intelligent wrestler with a different skillset that is very difficult to face. But to do that I need to deal with El Profe at the same time. Believe me when I say that facing TNT is enough of a challenge by itself. I just need to find a way to neutralize the effect El Profe has on the match. Rickin: (Spanish) Gama Singh with a challenge for TNT. We'll be right back with Huracan Castillo Jr. and Miguelito Perez at the desk before their match. (Commercial Break) 0-8:00 Rickin: We are back with Huracan Castillo Jr. and Miguelito Perez. You two found little success in the tag team tournament due to the interference of los Mercenarios. Castillo: For all of his talk, Chicky Starr needed to hire los Mercenarios to just barely beat us. I almost take that as a compliment. Perez: That doesn't mean we are going to forget what los Mercenarios did, regardless if they are part of Chicky Starr's...corporation. Rickin: You two also have had issues with Jonathan Boyd and the Crusher. Perez: We haven't settled with them yet. Barrabas thought his two New Zealanders would come in here and roll over us. Again, he needed to cheat to make sure his "superior" team won. Castillo: You'd almost think we weren't exactly as far beneath these teams as they claimed. It's a good night to make challenges as any. We want Boyd and the Crusher on April 19th! Rickin: You'll have to take that up with Barrabas, but he seemed to want his men fighting you. Gama Singh was out here talking about how difficult it is dealing with a manager who likes to get involved. Do you two have any ideas on how you plan to deal with this? Castillo: In a tag match, the man on the apron has to see what's happening and call it out. If you can communicate well it isn't too hard. Perez: It can be dificult sometimes when the other team is in the ring together a lot to keep track of the manager though. Rickin: It seems like you two have thought this through. Perez: We talked to people we trust, our fathers, Invader 1, Carlitos Colon. They have been through it all and want to help us out. Castillo: We have a lot of support in the locker room. And from all of these great fans! Perez: And we will come through in Roberto Clemente Stadium against Boyd and the Crusher to make sure these fans are happy! Rickin: Big promise from Miguelito Perez. Boyd and the Crusher are not to be taken lightly. Castillo and Perez did get close last time though. Hugo: Close isn't the same as being all the way there. That last step can be a hard one to take. Rickin: That's very true Hugo. I like the confidence that Miguelito and Huracan are showing though. Hugo: Yes confidence is very important!! Rickin: As long as it doesn't become overconfidence it is a great thing to have. Confidence can carry you through difficult times. Hugo: That's why we talk so much about momentum. It gives you a lot of confidence when you have some wins under your belt going into a big match! Rickin: Let's see if Castillo and Perez can get another win to build some more momentum going forward. Los Assassins (1 & 3) vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. & Miguelito Perez Castillo and Perez show off their ever-improving teamwork with quick tags and legal double teams. Assassin 1 ducks a clothesline from Perez after bouncing off the ropes, but gets caught with a big powerslam. Castillo, who had made a blind tag, hits a missile dropkick for the 3. Huracan Castillo Jr. & MIguelito Perez by pinfall in 5:33 with a missile dropkick Rickin: Good to see those two working together so smoothly. Hugo: They do make a very good team! Rickin: Something Jonathan Boyd and the Crusher will have to deal with on April 19th. We'll be right back with Chicky Starr's Sports Shop and TNT in singles action. (Commercial Break) 8:00-16:30 Rickin: Welcome back fans. I will let my colleague and friend Hugo introduce the next part of our program. Hugo: It's time to go visit Chicky!! The Sports Shop intro plays and we cut to Victor on the set, microphone in hand. Victor (wooden): It is my pleasure to introduce the hottest wrestler and manager in the World Wrestling Council. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the most exciting, most charismatic, best dressed man in Puerto Rico, Chicky Starr. Chicky walks onto the set in his custom suit, grinning and holding two pieces of paper. He sets the paper down and sits down, picking up his microphone. Chicky: We have a lot to get to this week, ladies and gentlemen. First, you will notice that my associate Abdulah Tamba is flanking me to my right as well as Victor to my left. The reasons for this will become clear soon enough. As you all know, this is easily the most watched segment of the show and with good reason. Today I will give you an even better reason to tune in every week regardless of watching the rest of the show. But first, I would like to introduce my guests this week, Barrabas and Bam Bam. Barrabas walks in first and sits down, Bam Bam standing behind him. Barrabas grins as he picks up his microphone. Barrabas: I see you brought some extra security this time. Chicky: Your man has proven himself to be a very tough and dangerous individual. Let's get right to business, that is why I asked you to join me this week. Barrabas: No taunts? No teasing? I'm starting to think maybe you regret looking down on me for all those years! Chicky: Like I said, I brought you here for business. It seems to me that Bam Bam here has proven himself more than capable of handling himself in a fight against the toughest men, both here and all over the world. Barrabas: (more cautious) Yes.... Chicky pulls out one of the papers he walked in with. Chicky: This is a contract signed by myself, Carlitos Colon and Abdullah the Butcher stating that Colon will defend his Universal Campionship against Abdullah on April 19th in Roberto Clemente Stadium. It is finalized, all I have to do is turn it in to the office. I only haven't so that MY fans could hear it from ME! And to make a point to you. Bam Bam will not be challenging Colon for the title soon. Barrabas: He wouldn't even be bothering me about it if YOU hadn't made sure he knew he could go toe-to-toe with Colon! Chicky: (smiling) Nobody forced anyone to interfere in the match. Or did I miss something? Barrabas: NO! I assume you made this...point...for a reason? Chicky: I did. I have another contract. This one is for a chance at the Caribbean Heavyweight Title, with Hercules Ayala's name already signed. It seems your man would like to have singles gold around his waist and I want Abdullah the Butcher to have a chance at finishing his match with Colon without interference. Putting Bam Bam's name one this contract helps all 3 of us. Barrabas: But you still get the bigger prize! You always- Chicky: Get the matches before you? Maybe if you spent less time telling your clients how much you were doing and did some work for them it would work better for you. Let's see what your man thinks. (English) You and I have not been introduced, Bam Bam. I was just showing your manager this contract. Signing it means a match on April 19th for the Caribbean Heavyweight Championship. Bam Bam takes the paper and reads it, looking at Barrabas in askance. Barrabas reads the contract and nods. Chicky: Understand that this means you will let Abdullah the Butcher do what needs to be done without interfering in his matches with Colon. That is my price for this. Bam Bam looks a little angry but nods after some thought. Barrabas stews in his chair. Both sign the contract. Chicky: Moving on, you have had success around the world. It seems to me that the place you have the most trouble is right- Barrabas: (Spanish) What right do you have to do this?!? Chicky: (stays in English) Right? I am going to leave this up to the man I'm talking to- Barrabas: (Spanish) MY client!! Chicky: (English) What do you think big man? Bam Bam looks right at Chicky and nods as he puts a hand on Barrabas' shoulder. Chicky: You are an NWA 6-Man champion. You have beaten former World Champions. But the people of Puerto Rico see none of it. Bam Bam nods. Chicky: Your manager repeatedly tries to keep you away from Carlitos Colon and the Universal Championship. Barrabas: (English) You signed that match with Abdullah and Colon, not me! YOU signed those matches with Brody! Bam Bam is watching the exchange intently after some initial anger. Chicky: Yes, it's only been three weeks sonce the last big card in Guaynabo. I don't know where you would have found the time with your busy schedule. Barrabas: I've had enough of this. You and your FAVORS! This isn't over! Barrabas storms off the set. Bam Bam is thoughful as he follows, looking back at Chicky. Starr waits for Bam Bam to clear the set and starts grinning as big as he ever has. Chicky: He thinks I used up my favor. Ayala and Colon hate me. Colon has a long and storied rivalry with Abdullah the Butcher. All I had to do was mention Abdullah. Ayala knows I was part of the attack on his friend Victor Jovica. You can bet he's not finished with me. I told Ayala I'd hand pick a man to take the belt back. I didn't say it would be a man I represent, and I can't think of a better man to make Ayala pay for what he did to Al. I'm going to let the fans at home in on something. This isn't hard. You look at what a man wants and find a way to give it to them. Everything else falls into place. That's it for another week of Chicky Starr's Sports Shop. It's time for my friend Ric Flair to take us back to the boring part of the show. Flair's recorded sign off plays as Chicky, Victor and Tamba exit the set. Rickin: Big things happening on the Sports Shop this week. Chicky seems to be trying to drive a wedge between Barrabas and Bam Bam. Hugo: And it is working! Rickin: It appears that way, yes. Two big matches for our Roberto Clemente card on April 14th as well. Hugo: YES!! Colon will be taking on the Monster, the Machine, the Madman from the Sudan! Rickin: And Hercules Ayala will be facing a very tough test in his first title defense. Hugo: He may be the strongest man in Puerto Rico, but can he handle Bam Bam?!? Rickin: Two very big matches that Chicky Starr made sure he announced. Hugo: He is a smart businessman. Here comes TNT!! Rickin: El Profe is accompanying his man to ringside. These two have made their mark in a short time. Hugo: When a man is as talented as TNT that will happen. Rickin: I noticed you didn't mention any of El Profe's contributions. Hugo: You're right I didn't! Rickin: Gama Singh has announced that he is out of the Light Heavyweight tournament in order to take on TNT. While I commend Singh for his tenacity, gold is not something that you often get the chance at. Hugo: And you have to make those chances count! Rickin: Exactly. Although I understand wanting to even the score with TNT after what happened. Hugo: Singh paid too much attention to El Profe and got caught. TNT is too good to ignore for very long! Rickin: TNT has entered the ring and referee Tomas Marin has called for the bell. Armandito Salgado vs. TNT TNT uses his tae kwan do kicks and chops to control. He cuts off a Salgado comeback with a big throat thrust and follows with a superkick before locking in the cobra dinamita for the submission. TNT by submission in 4:29 with the cobra dinamita Rickin: TNT continues his unbeaten streak in the WWC. Hugo: He has always been impressive! It's just his manger I don't like! Rickin: I never thought I'd see the day you started stealing my lines Hugo. Hugo: Well now you have! Rickin: (chuckling) So I have. Up next I will be talking with commissioner Pedro Castillo and we will see los Super Medicos in action. We'll be right back. (Commercial Break) 16:30 - 26:30 Rickin: We're back and I am joined by a man I have known for many years, commissioner Pedro Castillo. Castillo: Did you ever think years ago that we would agree near as often as we do? Rickin: We have had many disagreements, yes. Castillo: You gave me what Dutch Mantell so accurately referred to as "daddy talks" when both of our children were too young to have those sort of talks with. Rickin: (chuckling) I did. You are here to talk tonight about los Pastores and the Light Heavyweight Championship tournament. I imagine you want to adress los Pastores first. Castillo: (laughing) You always liked to keep things moving. I never appreciated that fully until I became commissioner. On to business. Los Pastores were informed that their....antics would not be tolerated before they returned to the WWC. And after their first week back. Rickin: We saw the effect both had. Castillo: We did. They have been suspended for one month, effective today, in the hopes that they get the message that way. We want to bring in great wrestlers from around the world to put on the best show possible for our fans, but men like Butch Miller and Luke Williams are very often more of a problem than that is worth. We are down one man in our Light Heavyweight tournament due to their actions. Rickin: Invader 3 will very likely miss the first round of the tournament by a week or two. Castillo: Yes, and combined with Invader 2's injury and Gama Singh's choice to wrestle TNT instead of participate we are down to 4 men in the tournament when we originally had 7. Our sister promotions in the NWA have agreed to send several wrestlers. Japan will also be represented in our tournament. Rickin: And if one of the outsiders wins the belt? Castillo: The WWC will pay to fly the champion in as often as possible given their schedule. The wrestlers appearing in the tournament from the WWC are Tommy Lane, my son Huracan Castillo Jr., Owen Hart and Ricky Santana. A spot will be held open with an alternate in place for either Invader 2 or 3 should they recover from their injuries. Mid Atantic Championship Wrestling will be sending Joe Savoldi and Lutte International from Canada will be sending Chris Candido. I'm told both are promising young wrestlers. Kuniaki Kobayashi, a veteran light heavyweight from Japan, will be rounding out our tournament. It will begin on April 4th, with the finals coming in Roberto Clemente Coliseum on the 19th. Rickin: I'm looking forward to it. Even if I am a little worried about how Owen Hart will handle things. Castillo: He is a young man under a lot of pressure. That can bring out a lot of things that we regret later. I found that out the hard way. It's always good talking to you Rickin. RIckin: You as well, commissioner. That's quite the tournament we have lined up for the NWA WWC Light Heavyweight Championship. Hugo: Yes! Kobayashi will be a wild card! Rickin: You've seen him wrestle before? Hugo: I have! You...might not approve of his tactics.... Rickin: I see. Very good way of putting it Hugo. Hugo: Thanks!! Here come los Super Medicos! Rickin: They have a tough task ahead of them, but they seem to be going about it the right way. Hugo: Last week was a starting point, now they have to build on it. Rickin: Like you said last week, it will take time. Hugo: Yes! Look for small things that are better. Timing doesn't just click into place, not usually. If you look for the things that are improving and try to repeat them it helps build your confidence. Rickin: Confidence is imortant in everything. Ring announcer Eliud Gonzalez has finished his introductions and there is the bell. Los Tejanos vs. Los Super Medicos Medicos have one sequence of good quick tags, but mostly stay in for longer than they ought to. Tejano 2 takes advantage, but a Medico 1 punch flurry stops him in his tracks. Medico 1 slams Tejano and thenslams Medico 2 on top of him after tagging him in. Medico 2 covers for the three count. Los Super Medicos by pinfall in 5:37 with an assisted senton Rickin: Like you said, look for the small improvements. Hugo: And build on them! Rickin: We'll see how they build on that next time we see los Super Medicos. Up next we'll hear from Hercules Ayala and Invader 1 before their match against los Mercenarios, the latest Chicky Starr recruits. Don't go anywhere fans. (Commercial Break) 26:30-35:00 Rickin: Welcome back fans. I am now joined by Caribbean Champion Hercules Ayala and Invader 1. We found out earlier tonight that you will be facing Bam Bam for the belt on April 19th, Hercules. Ayala: Chicky Starr thinks he pulled some kind of trick? I didn't care who I put this title on the line against! Bam Bam is a big man and very agile for his size. It will certainly be one of the tougher tests of my career, but I won't back away from it. Rickin: Bam Bam may be young, but he has stood his ground against both Bruiser Brody and Abdullah the Butcher. He also has a win against none other than Dusty Rhodes. Ayala: Like I said, a tough test. I am the strongest man in Puerto Rico! I realize that is a title, but it is one I have earned. I may not be able to overpower Bam Bam. I may even not be able to out-quick him. But I'll find a way to win! Rickin: Invader 1, it seems like your partners should both be recovered from their injuries by April 19th. Will it be Invader 2 or 3 against the Starrs? Invader 1: The timing is going to decide that. The man who is in the Light Heavyweight Tournament will be concentrating on that, while the other will face the Starrs with me. I've spoken with both and it is looking like Invader 2 will be taking part in the tournament. We'll see how it turns out. Rickin: Are you worried about chemistry with Invader 3 if that is what happens? Invader 1: I've tagged extensively with both, probably more with Invader 3 than Invader 2. So I'm not worried at all. Rickin: You have two very dangerous teams aligned against you now in the Starrs and los Pastores. Is that going to be too much to handle? Invader 1: Chicky Starr makes a lot of enemies. He and his cousin injured Super Medico 2. Castillo and Perez won't forget how they were dealt with either. If los Pastores come back and want a fight, they will find one! If they don't, we will pay Ron and Chicky Starr back for Guaynabo after we take their belts! Rickin: Tonight you two face los Mercenarios, who are now...associates of Ron and Chicky Starr. Ayala: Bad choice. Invader 1: I'm not sure there is enough money in the world to make this worth it for los Mercenarios. You and Hugo noticed it right away, Guaynabo changed things. Chicky Starr may not run an army but he declared war on February 22nd. If you're on his side there is no mercy, no quarter. Invader 1 and Ayala head down to the ring with the fans mobbing them on their way. Rickin: It seems like Ayala, Invader 1 and Carlitos are all on the same page. They know they have a lot of enemeies and are ready to take them on as they come. Hugo: As long as too many aren't working together!! Rickin: I don't see Chicky Starr teaming up with Barrabas or the Sheepherders anytime soon. Hugo: Not likely no. Invader 1 said this was a war!! Rickin: I'd say with the injuries on both sides it would have to be called that. Colon and company are short allies for right now, but Invader 2 and 3 should be back within a month. Hugo: I'd say Castillo, Perez, Ricky Santana and los Super Medicos would support Colon as well! Rickin: That seems right. Ayala and Invader 1 have made it to the ring and here come los Mercenarios. Hugo: Nobody in the crowd is unsure of how to react now! Rickin: Once you are allied with Chicky Starr I'm sure the fans know where you stand and how to react. Hugo: Los Mercenarios don't care what the fans think anyway. Rickin: They are only interested in how much they are being paid for their services. But as Invader 1 said before, they might find themselves involved in a war that is not worth the money they are being paid. Hugo: Or they may turn the tide in Chicky's favor! Rickin: That could happen too. Los Mercenarios rush the ring and referee Victor Quinonez has called for the bell. Los Mercenarios w/Chicky Starr vs. Hercules Ayala & Invader 1 Invader and Ayala work well on their own against both Mercenarios for a while. Numbers catch up to Invader 1, who is busted open with a chair by Chicky on the outside while Mercenario 2 distracts Quinonez. Invader 1 goes low on both Mercenarios and makes the tag. Ayala comes in hot and clears the ring. Chicky distracts Ayala from the apron and los Mercenarios hit him from behind. Invader 1 takes the tag and clears Merc 2 out of the ring, rolling up Merc 1 for the three. Hercules Ayala & Invader 1 by pinfall in 12:10 with a schoolboy Ron Starr and Abdullah Tamba come charging down to the ring and it looks like trouble, but Castillo, Perez, Santana and Colon run down to the ring and a melee ensues. Rickin: Big win for Ayala and Invader 1. We're running short on time. Hugo: Here comes Owen Hart!! Rickin: We'll see you next week.
SirEdger
Can't wait for the start of the Light Heavyweight title tournament. Loving the addition of Kobayashi in the mix!
gordi
I love all of the slow-building character stuff with Owen, Gama, Chicky & Barrabas... Of course I really like the idea of Kobayashi as the wild card in the tournament. Bam Bam vs Hercules Ayala and Colon vs Abdullah will be huge matches. spaldoni
Once again, love the announcers and how important they are to your shows and storylines. The Owen Hart story keeps gaining momentum. Castillo and Perez seem to have the right mindset and are improving in the ring. LOL, Chicky stirring it up. Bam Bam/Ayala will be a good one. Colon/Abby is always an epic match. TNT/Singh is a real gem feud going on here. Light heavyweight tourney will be a blast! Great ending to the show as sides and alliances have been established. GeneJackson95
You've done an amazing job heating up all the angles here in WWC and they are really coming together...the Owen Hart story has been played out perfectly. Chicky Starr is the greatest heel on the island and is starting make a name for himself across the NWA. The Lightheavyweight Title tournament was already looking great but the addition of Kobayashi adds even more international flavor. Looking forward to BamBam vs. Ayala, big fan of both of those guys! dawho5
Original airdate March 21, 1986 (Originally airing in Spanish on WAPA Channel 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rickin: Welcome to another great week of WWC action fans. Hugo: If you thought last week's main event was big, wait until you see this week's! Rickin: Hugo is right to be excited. We'll tell you about our main event very soon. Tonoghit Ricky Santana and Abdullah Tamba will be in singles action. Hugo: It's been a while since we have seen Abdullah Tamba. Rickin: He has been wrestling as we tour Puerto Rico. He is not a man easily forgotten though. We will also see several very good tag teams tonight, The Rock and Roll RPMs and the team of Huracan Castillo Jr. & Miguelito Perez will both be competing tonight. Hugo: After the tag title tournament both need to build some momentum! Rickin: I'd say both were hamstrung by circumstances not involving their opponents. Hugo: They were, but that leaves both teams needing a win! Rickin: I don't disagree with that. Al Madril will join Chicky Starr in the Sports Shop. Hugo: I'm looking forward to that!! Rickin: I knew you would. The Rock and Roll RPMs will be out to the desk before their match. El Profe will be at the desk with TNT. Hugo: TNT has been on a huge roll since he came to the WWC! Rickin: He is undefeated with a win over Gama Singh. Barrabas and all 3 of his clients will be out to the desk. We will also hear from Hercules Ayala, Invader 1 and Carlitos Colon. Hugo: Which brings us to the main event!!! Rickin: Ayala, Invader 1 and Colon will be challenging Barrabas' men for the NWA 6-Man Tag Team titles. Hugo: YES!!! It will be great to see them defended on TV!! Rickin: It will, and I wonder how much last week's visit to the Sports Shop has to do with that. Hugo: I'd say a lot. The crowd is cheering, Ricky Santana must be on his way to the ring! Rickin: He has become a fan favorite very quickly. And entirely on his own merits I might add. Hugo: Yes! Ricky has really shown a lot of skill in the ring! Rickin: He also has shown some fire when dealing with both Owen Hart and Chicky Starr. Hugo: Yes, he has been more assertive of late when he needs to be, which is what he really needed! Rickin: I agree that assertive is the right word. He is willing to call a man on his... Hugo: Bull? Rickin: That would be about right. That can be a hard thing for a young man to do with his peers without being overly aggressive. Hugo: It's hard to know where the line is, yes. Rickin: Referee Tomas Marin has called for the bell, let's go to the ring. El Vikingo vs. Ricky Santana Santana with his usual mix of armdrag-gy offense, technical work, punches and chops. Vikingo goes to the eyes, but Santana hits a running crossbody for two. He slams Vikingo and heads up top for the flying crossbody that gets three. Ricky Santana by pinfall in 4:31 with a top rope crossbody Rickin: Santana with another win and the crowd is blowing their horns to show him their appreciation. Hugo: He needs all the momentum he can get going into the tournament! Rickin: I'd say all the participants would say that for themselves. Barrabas is joined by all 3 of his men at the desk tonight. It's not every week we get to see Bam Bam in the building. Barrabas: That's because Bam Bam is an international superstar! Do you see Bruiser Brody or Abdullah the Butcher here every week? No. Bam Bam has a busy schedule. Rickin: I didn't mean to insinuate- Barrabas: Oh?!? Next you'll be asking questions about the match tonight just to make me say it! Rickin: It is the biggest match we've had on TV in a long time. Barrabas looks at Bam Bam and gestures at the microphone. Bam Bam pauses before walking over to Rickin and asking for the microphone. Rickin hands the mic to Bam bam, who hands it to an angry Barrabas. Barrabas: I bet you're all laughing now, aren't you?!? You at home, the people in the stands, Chicky Starr!! Well you won't be laughing after we steamroll your heroes tonight! Barrabas pauses, but seems to get angrier. Barrabas: And one last thing Chicky Starr!! Bam Bam and I may not see eye to eye on everything, but we do agree on one thing. YOU are not to be trusted! Whatever victory you may think you have won means nothing to you, Bam Bam will never be yours! Bam Bam is nodding along, but doesn't seem happy. Barrabas drops the microphone where he stands and stalks off. Bam Bam is slow to follow after giving a short apologetic look to Rickin. Rickin: That was a very..interesting interview. Hugo: Yes it was! Rickin: We'll be back with the Rock and Roll RPMs at the desk and in the ring. Don't go anywhere fans. (Commercial Break) 0-8:00 Rickin: We have returned fans and I am joined by Mike Davis and Tommy Lane, the Rock and Roll RPMs. You two bounced back from your tournament loss with a big win over Castillo and Perez. Davis: A hard-fought win that actually forged a new friendship for us. Lane: That match could have gone either way Rickin. We started training with those two and it's helped us out a lot. Rickin: Mutual respect can be a good basis for a friendship. Lane: Yeah, and we have all the respect in the world for Huracan Castillo Jr. and Miguelito Perez. Davis: Doesn't mean we don't want a shot at the Caribbean Heavyweight Titles before they get one, but they'd tell you the same. Friendly competition can be a good thing. Rickin: Thank you for coming by gentlemen. Davis: Our pleasure Rickin. Lane: Yeah, we always like coming out here and talking to the fans. The RPMs head for the ring. Rickin: It's not often a friendship is formed during a wrestling match. Hugo: It happens more often than you think! But the competitive nature of wrestling usually makes that hard to keep up. Rickin: So you think there will be some kind of betrayal. Hugo: More often than not! The tag titles or even a chance at them can change the way you think! Rickin: I don't think Lane and Davis need to resort to anything like that. The RPMs have proven they belong in the conversation for title contenders. Their match against Boyd and the Crusher was close despite Lane's injury. Hugo: That's true! I didn't expect them to get anywhere near as close as they did! Rickin: And let's not forget that this is an experienced team before they ever set foot in Puerto Rico. Hugo: Something very important to note, yes! Rickin: It looks like we're ready to go. Referee Ricky Vargas is calling for the bell. Mr. X & Y vs. the Rock 'n' Roll RPMs The RPMs control with their smooth teamwork and quick tags. Mr. Y makes a short comeback cut off by Davis with a clothesline. Davis tags in Lane and they hit a double dropkick for the 3. The Rock 'n' Roll RPMs by pinfall in 5:17 with a double dropkick Hugo: Great teamwork from those two every time out! Rickin: Yes, they are a very good tag team. We should see them in the Caribbean Tag Team Championship picture soon. Up next Chicky Starr will host Al Madril in the Sports Shop. And we will see Abdullah Tamba in action. We'll be right back. (Commercial Break) 8:00-15:30 Rickin: It's time to visit Chicky's Sports Shop. Cue the intro, then Victor with a microphone. Victor (wooden): It is my pleasure to introduce the hottest wrestler and manager in the World Wrestling Council. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the most exciting, most charismatic, best dressed man in Puerto Rico, Chicky Starr. Chicky walks on set with Al Madril, still on crutches, alongside. Chicky is in his athletic gear this week. Both pick up microphones. Chicky: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to another show-stealing Sports Shop! This week you can clearly see that my guest is the Latin Lover, Al Madril. I'd say the second biggest reason that this is the most watched show on TV is the great guests. Well, except maybe last week. Madril: Yeah, that Barrabas guy is funny though. What is the biggest reason for the success of he show anyway? Chicky: The host, obviously. Madril smiles and shakes his head as Chicky grins at him. Madril: I should have known that... Chicky: Yes, you should have. Just like everyone should have known how things would turn out when you were at ringside with crutches. Madril: You think? What did you think I was going to do with this thing when the guy who broke my leg got in range? Chicky: I was beginning to think the guy wasn't an idiot, but he proved me wrong again. Madril: I could have told you that! Chicky: Says the guy who got his leg broken in the submission match he handed out. Madril: Is that EVER going to get old for you? Chicky: I do it because there is a lesson there. One you don't seem like you learned. Something you need, everyone needs, to understand is that this is a war. And it's been building up for a long time. I need the people on my side to take it seriously when things get serious. Can you do that? Madril: I...look, man. I have a lot of fun. But I put Jovica out and kept the belt for a while. Chicky: I know you did. I just need that Al back. Madril: Yeah, I get it. I did have an idea for how I can help... Chicky: We'll talk about it. Now for my friend Ric Flair to take us out. Did you know he set me and Ronnie up for a beatdown on Colon while we were in America? I'll have to show you the tape.. Ric Flair's sign off plays as Madril and Chicky walk off set. Cut to the arena. Rickin: Chicky got a little serious with Madril there. Hugo: He has that side to him. It's not one you want to see, do you remember when he intentionally lost that match and kept beating up Mr. X with a chair? Or what he and Ron did to Invaders 1, 2 AND Colon? Rickin: I do. Hugo: If you see the side of Chicky that Al did there and don't listen, guess what happens next... Rickin: And this man is your friend? Hugo: Better than my enemy! Rickin: True enough. Chicky Starr is the target for a lot of garbage as he leads Abdullah Tamba to the ring. Hugo: You can see him starting to enjoy that kind of attention. Rickin: I like this Chicky Starr less than the man who couldn't decide. Hugo: Abdullah Tamba is looking as dangerous as ever. He just doesn't LOOK like somebody who can fly like he does. Rickin: Abdullah Tamba is definitely a graceful big man. He serves as Chicky Starr's enforcer when Abdullah is away. Hugo: And he fought Bam Bam without taking a backwards step! Rickin: Yes, he has been very impressive in his time here. It just seems like that time has seen a lot of appearances by Brody, Abdullah and Bam Bam. Hugo: Tough acts to follow, but I think Abdullah Tamba is up to the task! Rickin: Referee Victor Quinonez just called for the bell, hre we go. Frank Conners vs. Abdullah Tamba Tamba is dominant, giving Conners no offense. He grabs Conners and basically falls on him with a forward slam, then climbs up top for the big splash. The three count is academic. Abdullah Tamba by pinfall in 2:43 with a top rope splash Rickin: Well Abdullah Tamba certainly steamrolled Conners. Hugo: He is always very impressive! Rickin: I have this feeling Chicky Starr will have need of his services before too long. Up next we will hear from El Profe and TNT. And we will see Castillo and Perez in action. Don't touch that dial fans. (Commercial Break) 15:30-21:30 Rickin: We're back fans. El Profe and his man TNT have joined me at the desk. It seems Gama Singh is still loooking for a fight. Profe: Yeah, shows how smart he is. TNT has had the cobra dinamita on him twice. I guess he wants a third. Rickin: It almost seems to me like he's picking a fight with you rather than TNT. He shows a lot of respect for TNT. Profe: And that is supposed to impress me? For one, it makes things easier when he wants to fight me. Second, do you really think Gama Singh can beat TNT? Even if he could spend the entire match focused on him, Gama Singh is on the downside of a career that is, to be honest, underwhelming. Rickin: I wouldn't sell Gama Singh short. Experience is a valuable thing. Profe: Makes sense that a guy who's been around as long as you have would say that. TNT is an elite athlete with a background in fighting. And he trains every day with one ofthe smartest wrestling minds in the world, me. So take your flawed argument and throw it at the overexcited moron after I'm gone. He'll probably agree with you just to spite me. As if I care what that idiot ever has to say. Profe and TNT work their way towards the exit. Rickin: I used to think I hated talking to Al Madril more than I could hate talking to anyone. then I had to talk to El Profe. Hugo: Yeah...that guy is an ass. Rickin: I'm glad you're willing to say it. Huracan Castillo Jr. and Miguelito Perez have come out and they look focused. Hugo: I don't think I've seen them as intense as this before. Rickin: Do you think they are aware what kind of test they will face in Roberto Clemente Coliseum against Boyd and the Crusher? Hugo: I do, and the don't seem to be looking past Mr. W and Z tonight, their focus is purely on the ring! Rickin: It's a good sign to me that they are starting to improve on small things like that. Hugo: Yes! Those are the things that show maturity as a wrestler when you see them over time. Rickin: You can see their confidence growing as they take on top teams and do well, win or lose. Hugo: One of the hardest parts of being a young wrestler is finding the confidence you need to act on the things you see in the ring. Rickin: Hopefully these two can continue on that path. Ring announcer Eliud Gonzalez is done with the introductions and we're ready to go. Mr W and Z vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. & Miguelito Perez Castillo and Perez show off their smooth teamwork as well as individual strengths. Castillo cuts off a Z comeback with a lariat after ducking one and hitting the ropes. Perez made the blind tag and comes in with an el coqui (standing victory roll) for the 3 as Castillo knocks W off the apron. Castillo & Perez by pinfall in 5:08 with an el coqui (standing victory roll) Rickin: Another win for the two seciond generation wrestlers. Hugo: Here come Boyd, the Crusher and Bam Bam!! Rickin: Barrabas saw an opportunity it seems. Hugo: Here come the RPMs, Hercules Ayala, Invader 1 and Carlitos Colon!! Rickin: This is shaping up to be a brawl. Hugo: Bam Bam is taking on both Ayala and Colon!!! Rickin: We need to go to commercial, fans. Up next we will hear from Ayala, Invader 1 and Carlitos. And our main event. Hugo: NWA 6-Man Titles on the line!! Don't you dare change that channel!! (Commercial Break) 21:30-30:30 Rickin: Things have settled down somewhat. We were going to have a chat with Carlitos and his friends before the match, but they are a few feet from the ring. Hugo: Barrabas has his guys ready IN the ring! Rickin: We had just got to the point where it wasn't a huge brawl around ringside moments before we came back. The RPMs, Castillo and Perez have cleared ringside after a short conversation with Ayala, Invader 1 and Colon. Hugo: We get to see the NWA belts defended on TV!! Rickin: More as a result of Bam Bam's insistence after Chicky's prodding, but yes. One good thing to come from Chicky Starr. Hugo: And you act like that's not possible.. Rickin: It's rare. Ayala, Invader and Carlitos are rushing the ring. Hercules Ayala, Invader 1, & Carlitos Colon vs. Jonathan Boyd, The Crusher & Bam Bam © for the NWA 6-Man Tag Team Titles Barrabas orders his team to attack. Boyd and the Crusher hit the opposing team as they come through the ropes, but Bam Bam waits until things even up before attacking. The brawl settles down to a match with Boyd and the Crusher both falling victim to teamwork by the babyfaces. Bam Bam turns things around for his team, at times taking on both Colon and either Ayala or Invader. Invader plays FIP for a while with Bam Bam in particular delivering a nasty beating to the ribs and back. Colon takes the tag to a HUGE pop and comes in hot. After Colon cleans house, he and Bam Bam go back and forth wiht no advantage. Barrabas sends the troops in and things break down. The referee warns Barrabas when he tries to get involved with a chair from ringside, right as Bam Bam lands the slingshot splash on Invader 1. Bam Bam gets a visual 5 or 6 count and looks upset as he storms over to Barrabas and referee Victor Quinonez. Colon gets the figure four on the Crusher and Bam Bam has to plow through Ayala to break it up in time. The bell rings, signaling the end of TV time and the match. Bam Bam and Barrabas are arguing post-match. Time limit draw in 20:00 Rickin: Bam Bam is upset with Barrabas for costing them the win. He had Invader 1 pinned. Hugo: Not good for Barrabas! Rickin: We may be seeing the beginning of the end for Barrabas as Bam Bam's manager. We are out of time fans. as we leave we'll show you all of the matches for Roberto Clemente Coliseum so far. Main Event: Abdullah the Butcher vs. Carlitos Colon © for the Universal Heavyweight Championship Bam Bam vs. Hercules Ayala© for the Caribbean Heavyweight Championship Los Invaders vs. Los Primos Starr© for the Caribbean Tag Team Championships (pending Invader 2 and 3 returning from injury) Finals of the tournament for the Light Heavyweight Championship Gama Singh vs. TNT Huracan Castillo Jr. & Miguelito Perez vs. Jonathan Boyd & the Crusher
gordi
I like how guys like Profe, Madril, Starr and so on, even though they are all heels, have different and distinct personalities. I'm enjoying the slow build of Bigelow's resentment toward Barrabas.
SirEdger
Time limit draws can always be useful to build up frustration and tension. Job well done again!
spaldoni
The storylines are really moving in the right direction. Liking the rise of Santana. Man, Chicky really has gotten under the skin of Barrabas. RPM's continue to build momentum and I like this new friendship with Castillo and Perez. Different Sports Shop this week as we saw a more serious side of Chicky. Love the comment about the Omni match. El Profe did a nice job of hyping up TNT. Fun main event. UT OH trouble brewing between Bam Bam and Barrabas. Not good for Barrabas.
GeneJackson95
What a tremendous card you have lined up! Can't wait for Bam Bam vs Ayala! Barrabas better watch it, he doesn't want to get on Bam Bam's bad side.
LowBlowPodcast
Again, I love the build of Bam Bam as he is getting more hype throughout the world than any other athlete. Here is has got the makings to be the staple of the promotion.
kevinmcfl
Bam Bam is on a roll here. I enjoy the way you build these angles over time and your just seem to have a great knack for storytelling. WWC is unique in this game as it is the announcers who paint the picture instead of the wrestlers.
dawho5
Original Airdate 3/28/86 (Originally airing in Spanish on WAPA Channel 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Rickin: Welcome to another great edition of World Wrestling Council action fans. We have another treat for you this week in our main event. Hugo: Owen Hart wants some gold!! Rickin: Indeed he does. We will see Gama Singh and the Rock and Roll RPMs in action. Hugo: Gama Singh has another big test coming up in 3 weeks against TNT!! Rickin: Yes and I'm sure that will be what Chicky Starr talks to him about in the Sports Shop. Hugo: I hope he's watching out for TNT and El Profe around evey corner! Rickin: Gama Singh is a smart enough man to not fall for that. Ricky Santana will be joining me at the desk before his match. As will los Super Medicos. Hugo: Santana needs to keep winning. The tournament to crown a Light Heavyweight Champion starts next week! Rickin: Before the end of the show we will have an announcement regarding the first round matchups next week. And Owen Hart will be out to the desk before our main event. Jacques Rougeau, the reigning Canadian International Heavyweight Champion from Lutte, has been traveling around the world defending his belt. Owen Hart requested a chance to win this prestigious Canadian title and the committee seems to have given him this chance. Hugo: Owen has yet to lose!! He deserves to have a chance at a title. Why not one he can display proudly back home in Canada?!? Rickin: That much I understand. We have seen Jacques Rougeau before here in the WWC and it is by no means a foregone conclusion. Hugo: Owen tends to find ways around things like that! Rickin: Which says to me that maybe the committee should have given the match to somebody else. We will see how things turn out. Gama Singh has come out to cheers and a few in the crowd are blowing their horns. Hugo: TNT is a very skilled and dangerous opponent. Gama Singh has gone right at him from the start with no hesitation! Rickin: Yes, he has earned the fans respect and admiration. Hugo: We'll see how long he can keep it. The fans here in Puerto Rico can be very fickle! Rickin: Only if unnecessary shortcuts are taken or a wrestler keeps attacking a man when he's down. Hugo: These fans didn't seem to mind when Hercules Ayala broke Al Madril's leg! Rickin: After what Madril did to Victor Jovica I would imagine it made most fans happy. Hugo: Yeah, Al may have gone a little too far there... Rickin: We're ready to go as referee Tomas Marin has called for the bell. Frank Conners vs. Gama Singh Singh controls with a mixture of punches, chops and technical wrestling. Conners tries a suplex but Singh floats over and hits a DDT as Conners turns around. The camel clutch is applied by Singh for the submission. Gama Singh by submission in 4:29 with a camel clutch Rickin: Singh is looking sharp as we come closer to April 19th. Hugo: He better be sharp in Roberto Clemente Stadium! TNT won't be forgiving of any mistakes! Rickin: Very true Hugo. We'll be right back with Ricky Santana at the desk and in the ring. Don't go anywhere fans. (Commercial Break) 0 - 8:30 Rickin: Weclome back fans. I am joined by a young man who has been making tremendous strides in the last few months. Ricky Santana, you have these fans behind you going into the WWC Light Heavyweight Title tournament. Santana: I've been seeing that more and more Rickin. It's a great feeling to know that the fans are going to support you. They can really lift you up when you're in a tough spot. Rickin: It seems like the only hurdle you have struggled to clear is Owen Hart. Santana: Owen Hart may be a great technical wrestler. He has yet to show me or anyone else any kind of guts. When the chips are down the man will resort to underhanded tactics to win a match. Rickin: Something that has been your Achilles heel. Santana: I've been talking to a few people about that. Invader 1, Carlitos Colon, they will use illegal tactics against opponents who like to cheat. I didn't always get why, but I do now! When a man takes advantage of your willingness to follow the rules one too many times you don't have choices anymore. You fight the man at his level. Owen Hart is going to find out that he's not the only one willing to play dirty next time we see one another in the ring! Rickin: Owen Hart has a match tonight with the champion from Lutte, Jacques Rougeau. Your thoughts? Santana: I wish I had been willing to fight Owen Hart on his level a little sooner, maybe we'd see somebody more deserving in that match. As it is, I'll be keeping an eye on Owen to make sure he doesn't try anything on Rougeau. Nobody deserves to have their title stolen from them! Rickin: There goes Ricky Santana, the crowd is making it difficult for him to get back to the asile. Hugo: Santana doesn't seem to mind! Rickin: He genuinely enjoys interacting with the fans and who can blame him? Hugo: They do love him! Will firing back at Owen Hart in kind change that do you think? Rickin: Did the fans turn on Hercules Ayala when he broke Al Madril's leg? Hugo: If anything they started cheering him a little more! Rickin: The fans see the difference between fighting fire with fire and fighting dirty to take shortcuts. Ricky Santana isn't a man who takes shortcuts. Hugo: No he isn't! I can respect that, even if I think it is a little short-sighted! Rickin: (chuckling) Referee Ricky Vargas is calling for the bell. It looks like we're ready to go. Mr. X vs. Ricky Santana Santana with his technical babyface offense is in control. X takes control after a missed dropkick only to run into another dropkick soon after. Santana slams X and climbs up top. The flying crossbody connects as X staggers to his feet and Santana gets the 1, 2, 3. Ricky Santana by pinfall in 4:22 with a top rope crossbody Rickin: Santana looking strong heading into the tournament. Hugo: He has looked strong in his two losses to Owen Hart, but lost due to unfortunate circumstances! Rickin: I'd say both of those "unfortunate circumstances" were caused by Owen Hart. Hugo: There is no proof the first time was on purpose! Rickin: I suppose not. Up next Gama Singh will be in the Sports Shop and the Rock and Roll RPMs will be in tag team action. (Commercial Break) 8:30 - 16:00 Hugo: Weeeeeee're baaaack!! And it's time to visit my friend Chicky in his Sports Shop!! The intro for the Sports Shop plays and we cut to Victor with a microphone on the set. Victor (wooden): It is my pleasure to introduce the hottest wrestler and manager in the World Wrestling Council. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the most exciting, most charismatic, best dressed man in Puerto Rico, Chicky Starr. Chicky walks on the set in his athletic gear, golf club in hand. He picks up the microphone on his chair and sits down. Chicky: Welcome to the most watched wrestling program in Puerto Rico, Chicky Starr's Sports Shop! Ladies and gentlemen, you have once again reached the high point of the show. Last week my enforcer, Abdullah Tamba, showed all of Puerto Rico why he is my enforcer. He destroyed Frank Conners in less than 3 minutes. Chicky pauses for effect. Chicky: It has been talked about in recent weeks that there is a war between myself and Carlitos Colon. Know that you will be seeing much more of Abdullah Tamba in the coming weeks. Abdullah Tamba is one of two men in the WWC that have taken Bam Bam off of his feet, the other being Abdullah the Butcher. Something Invader 1 and Colon have yet to do. I may not have Abdullah the Butcher week in and week out, but I have the next best thing! Chicky nods off-screen after pausing. Chicky: (English) My guest this week is a man I once called a good friend, Gama Singh. Singh cautiously enters the set, looking around carefully. Chicky: Beleive me, Gama, I have no ambushes set for you....(grins)...of course you don't believe me. Do what you need to do. Singh completes his search and sits down warily. Chicky: It's been a long time since we sat down. Singh: We don't agree on as much anymore, but I have no quarrel with you. Chicky: So what was it that made you change your ways? I remember a time when you were teaching me dirty tricks in the ring that I hadn't seen. Singh: Winning matches is all well and good. At some point you realize that it's important to have the respect of the fans while you win. And that it's not that hard to do both. Chicky: (practically spitting out the first sentence) The respect of the fans. These are people who respect a man who cheats as much as anyone, Carlitos Colon. They look at a backstabbing fraud like Invader 1 and see something they like. I want them to hate me! It's the only way I can respect myself! Singh: I remember you always hated Invader 1, I have talked to hi- Chicky: Don't! You and I may not be close friends anymore, but I have no interest in making enemies I don't have to. Singh: I can respect that. I have my hands full with El Profe and TNT myself. Chicky: Profe doesn't have much respect for you. Singh: He will. You didn't seem to try and change that much when he was on your show. Chicky: El Profe is a friend of mine and has been for some time. He hasn't changed who he is to pander to those idiots in the stands. Singh: Like you said earlier, I don't need to make more enemies. It was good to chat Chicky, one day we'll be able to sit down and agree on a little more. Chicky: In truth I think El Profe does underestimate you and I hope it doesn't backfire on him. You're not a man I want to see on the opposing side and I do respect what you can do in the ring. Singh: And I will say that despite what you show the fans, you are more than capable in the ring and I hope that one day you give the fans the reasons they need to respect you. Both men stand up and shake hands. Singh leaves the set. Chicky: (Spanish) That will do it for another Sports Shop. I will be back next week, so don't despair. My friend Ric Flair will take us home. Cue Ric Flair's sign-off as Chicky leaves the set. Cut to the arena. Rickin: Another very interesting Sports Shop. Hugo: Yes! Chicky and Gama Singh were once allies! Rickin: Chicky Starr has shown us a few different sides of himself these last few weeks. While I am not a fan of his methods, the man has a certain sense of...honor? to him. Hugo: He's a friend of mine and I'm not sure I'd go that far! Rickin: I know, I simply could not find a better word to express it. There are certain lengths he won't go to when it comes to his friends. Hugo: Not if he thinks there is a chance it would hurt him anyway.... Rickin: There is that. The Rock and Roll RPMs are on their way to the ring. Hugo: The fans have gotten behind them very quickly! Despite their loss in the in the tournament. Rickin: It might have something to do with their lack of bitterness or complaint. They just went on trying to move up in the tag division. Hugo: I'd say that too. The fans don't like when a man or a team makes excuses. Rickin: Something you found out the hard way as a wrestler and manager. Hugo: Yes. But they were valid excuses! Rickin: (chuckles) You seem to have changed in that respect. Davis and Lane have gotten the support of the fans in much the same way as Ricky Santana has. They have faced adversity head on and let their failures become lessons as well as fuel for the fire. Hugo: Making friends with Castillo & Perez can't hurt! Rickin: I'd say the friendship is a direct result of that same attitude that Castillo and Perez possess. Ring announcer Eliud Gonzalez has finished the introductions, here we go. Mr. Y & Z vs. the Rock 'n' Roll RPMs The RPMs control with smooth teamwork. Z with a big slam on Lane, but he misses the elbow drop and Lane tags in Davis. The RPMs hit a combination side slam/neckbreaker for the 3 count. The Rock 'n' Roll RPMs by pinfall in 5:15 with a side slam/neckbreaker combo Rickin: The RPMs continue building momentum and standing in the tag team division. Hugo: They have to be considered the next challengers for the titles after los Invaders at this point! Rickin: There is one team that may dispute that, los Super Medicos. I will be talking to them after these messages, and we will see them in action. We'll be right back. (Commercial Break) 16:00 - 25:30 Rickin: Welcome back, fans. I'm joined by los Super Medicos. You two seem like you have found some small ways to improve in the last few weeks. Medico 1: Yes, and we have been trying to make that stick as we tour Puerto Rico. Rickin: It has been showing. My understanding is that you asked for this time to make a challenge. Medico 1: I did. We may not be able or even ready to pay the Starrs back for what they did to us. But they had help. Los Mercenarios helped the Starrs beat us in the tournament. They also had a hand in Super Medico 2's forced retirement. So we want to give them a little payback on the 19th of April! Rickin: You are sure the two of you are ready for that? Medico: Most teams it is necessary to have good teamwork against. I won't say it would hurt us against los Mercenarios, but they tend to...well, fight. Not much of a coordinated attack, just very aggressive and most of their matches see them outside the ring as often as in it. Rickin: I suppose teamwork goes out the window when all four men are outside the ring. Medico 1: Not entirely, but it's much less of a factor. I don't mind a good brawl now and again, and those two have some payback coming from us that won't feel as good inside the ring! Los Super Medicos head towards the ring as the crowd cheers them on. Rickin: What's your take on that Hugo? Hugo: Well, he's not wrong. Once things break down and everybody is fighting, even in the ring, it can be hard to keep any kind of teamwork going. And if you have revenge on your mind it tends to get in the way of that kind of thinking too. Rickin: Do you think Chicky Starr will have any kind of plan in place to keep los Mercenarios more organized? Hugo: He might try, but I'm not sure if they care to wrestle that way. They are a step below los Pastores when it comes to how wild they wrestle, but they won't be looking like a smooth tag team anytime soon. Rickin: So this is a good time for los Super Medicos to look for their vengeance. Hugo: Yes! If it's going to be a brawl they are pretty evenly matched. Both Super Medico 1 and 3 are more than capable brawlers. It's just up to Chicky to sign the match! Rickin: And the WWC to approve it knowing what los Super Medicos are looking for going in. It looks like the wrestlers are ready and there is the bell. Los Assassins (1 & 3) vs. Los Super Medicos Medicos control with a mixture of brawling and technical wrestling. They still stay in too long mostly, but have flashes of good quick tags. Assassin 1 with a few clubbing forearms, but ducks down too quickly and takes a kick from Medico 1. Medico 3 is tagged in and 1 slams Assassin down. He then slams Medico 3 into a senton on top of him for the 3 count. Los Super Medicos by pinfall in 5:34 with an assisted senton Rickin: Los Super Medicos with another win to stay on track. Hugo: If they do get that match with los Mercenarios, they will need to keep winning! Rickin: Engaging in a brawl with los Mercenarios seems like an odd choice to make. We'll be right back with Owen Hart at the desk before our main event. Hugo: Owen Hart wrestling for Canadian gold!!! Rickin: Don't go anywhere fans. (Commercial Break) 25:30-33:30 Rickin: (English) We're back and I am joined by Owen Hart. It must be an honor for you to compete for a belt from your home country. Owen: It would be more of an honor to compete for that belt there, to show my family what I can do. But yes, it is an honor. Rickin: Have you had any meetings with Jacques Rougeau before? He also comes from a very famous wrestling family. Owen: I have wrestled him in tag matches. The Rougeaus are a wrestling family, yes. We're both second generation wrestlers and I can respect that. But the man has something I want. that's what this is about. Rickin: If I can give some advice. Do this the right way. You will make your family far more proud by bringing home a belt with a legal win. Owen: Is that right? Don't pretend to know what MY family wants......Sorry, there is a lot riding on tonight. I know you mean well, but all of the free advice I get wears on me. Not sure I'm thrilled with Ricky Santana feeling the need to come out here and watch me either. I will tell you this. I'm more than good enough to beat Jacques Rougeau in a wrestling match. You watch, Rickin, he's going to have to resort to fighting to have a chance to keep that belt. Rickin: Most men will fight to hang on to their title belts, yes. Owen: You miss my point. I am a wrestler. I use technical wrestling skill to win matches. People like Ricky Santana and Jacques Rougeau like to punch and kick their way through matches because they can't outwrestle a man. It's sickening. Then people like you and these fans start telling them they are some kind of hero and they beleive it. It happens everywhere. And I'm sick of it!! So tonight I am going to take Jacques Rougeau's belt and next month I am going to win that tournament for the Light Heavyweight title using my wrestling skills!! Hart storms off. Rickin: (Spanish) Owen Hart is certainly fired up tonight. Hugo: Most young men are when they have a chance at gold! Rickin: This is very true. Owen heading to the ring first can't be good for Rougeau. Hugo: You heard Owen, he's going to win the match with his wrestling skill! Rickin: You believe that? Hugo: I believe Owen Hart will do anything he can to win this match, so not really, no. Rickin: We agree then. Owen Hart is in the ring now and head referee Victor Quinonez is giving him a little talking to. Hugo: He's as worried as you are! Rickin: The crowd is cheering as they see Jacques Rougeau. Hugo: He has had some success here in the past. And he's going up against a man the crowd doesn't like! Rickin: That tends to make the fans warm up to a wrestler, yes. It doesn't hurt that Ricky Santana is walking to the ring with him. How would you rate Jacques as a wrestler? Hugo: Jacques is a very good wrestler, he can do everything well. Just watch his temper! Rickin: Something you found out the hard way? Hugo: No, not me. I think you have met him before... Rickin: I know who. Jacques Rougeau is very famous in Quebec, the home of the Lutte promotion. He is also a second generation wrestler. Hugo: His father and his uncle were both very big stars in their time as well! Rickin: For all his talk, Owen Hart just attacked as Rougeau was entering the ring. Referee Victor Quinonez is calling for the bell. Owen Hart vs. Jacques Rougeau © for the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Championship Owen stomps away, then slaps on a headlock. Jacques tries to escape but Owen uses the hair a few times to keep him there. Quinonez forces a break after seeing Owen use the hair and Owen punctuates the hold with a punch before releasing. Owen is given a talking to by the referee and this gives Jacques enough time to recover in the corner. Owen can see the anger written on Jacques' face and extends a hand in apology. Jacques takes the hand and pulls Owen in for a kick to the gut and the match becomes a brawl that Jacques is in control of. Things settle down and it goes back and forth, Owen controlling the more technical exchanges while Jacques gets the better of the striking. Owen kicks out of a few pinning attempts by Jacques before rolling him up with his feet on the ropes. Quinonez reaches 2 before Santana's yelling from ringside alerts him to the cheating. Owen is angry with Santana and nearly gets rolled up himself (but cleanly) by Jacques. Owen crashes and burns on the missile dropkick, which gives Jacques the opening he needs for the Quebec crab and the submission. Jacques Rougeau by submission in 14: 41 with the Quebec crab Rickin: Jacques Rougeau has won the match and retained his championship. I'm sure Owen Hart will tell us all about the reasons he lost the match when we talk to him next time. Hugo: He had it won if Santana hadn't been there! Rickin: Illegally, yes. I promised we'd get you the matches for the Light Heavyweight tournament before we went off the air and it is that time. Next week we will see Ricky Santana against Chris Candido in a battle of up-and-coming stars. Candido is a rookie and great things are expected of him. We will also see one half of the Rock and Roll RPMs, Tommy Lane, take on the Japanese veteran Kuniaki Kobayashi. The winners of those two matches will face off on April 18th in the first semi-final. Hugo: Two very interesting matches! Kobayashi will be a big test for Lane! Rickin: And two weeks from tonight on April 11th we will see Joe Savoldi and Huracan Castillo Jr. face off. Combined they have 6 years ring experience, but both are very exciting young wrestlers. Owen Hart will be facing Invader 2, who is on schedule to be healthy enough to compete. Hugo: He better be, Owen will take advantage of any injuries that still linger!! Rickin: I imagine most would in this situation, but Hart will be aggressively taking advantage of any injuries. That's all for us this week, be sure to join us next week as we kick off the tournament to crown an inaugural WWC Light Heavyweight Champion. gordi
Oh man! Owen vs Jacques in San Juan! I have just started reading and I am already totally hyped up. And the match lives up to it while also building the story-line between Ricky Santana and Owen. Gama on the Sports shop, Ricky Santana and the RPMs working their way up the ladder, cleanly, a lot to enjoy there. Not sure if you meant to have Assassin 1 & 3 pulling double duty... Looking forward to Tommy Lane vs Kobayashi.

spaldoni
I agree with Rickin, Singh is looking sharp. The fans seem to be getting behind Santana more and more each week. Good Sports Shop as Chicky shows Singh a lot of respect. RPM's, Super Medicos with strong television outings. Your tag team division is on fire. Awesome main event that was built up well. Jacques retains while more heat is added to the Santana/Hart feud. Looking forward to the Light Heavyweight tournament!
GeneJackson95
Great main event with Owen/Jacques. This throws even more fuel on the Owen vs. Santana fire! Can't wait to hear what Owen has to say about. Chicky Starr continues to be my favorite character in the WWC.
