kjh Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 I think it's because the cut and paste sites "respects the boys in the back", i.e. soft peddle the news and aren't as outspoken or opinionated about the performers they cover.
El-P Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Since when did Matt Hardy become such a mess ?
rovert Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Since when did Matt Hardy become such a mess ? Offically? When he gets Soma's banned and when Paul London makes fun of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh5p1hRFaLg
El-P Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 London cracking up when Hardy says he is a-ok is pretty funny.
rovert Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 WWE just gave Alosia her release, one for the Hade Vansen scale.
Strummer Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Scott Keith was complaining about this on his blog so I guess Meltz says the tentative WM main events are Sheamus v Undertaker to unify the belts John Cena v Miz it's way too early to believe those will last
Loss Posted September 16, 2010 Author Report Posted September 16, 2010 I do kinda think if they are going to do a unification match that they need the belts on the two biggest names in order to sell it. And John Cena vs Undertaker has happened a few times, but they will just pretend it hasn't, and that's about as strong a main event as they could do at this point.
Dylan Waco Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Cena v Taker is the last big Taker at Mania match they have.
rovert Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 CM Punk's short explaination of why he is on Twitter is awesome on this weeks Art of Wrestling podcast (the Tyler Black episode) after Colt called him out on it.
Stuttsy Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 The heat for not-thanking-Shawn thing isn't so outrageous. Wrestling types have always been very finicky.
Stuttsy Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 CM Punk's short explaination of why he is on Twitter is awesome on this weeks Art of Wrestling podcast (the Tyler Black episode) after Colt called him out on it. Elaborate?
rovert Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 CM Punk's short explaination of why he is on Twitter is awesome on this weeks Art of Wrestling podcast (the Tyler Black episode) after Colt called him out on it. Elaborate? It is in the first five minutes of the podcast, it is his delivery more than anything else. Punk being Punk essentially and funny follow up to last month's Punk interview. http://www.welovecolt.com/
MikeCampbell Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 The heat for not-thanking-Shawn thing isn't so outrageous. Wrestling types have always been very finicky. I can vouch for that one. I'm friends on FB with a local guy whose only had maybe six matches, but he talks like anyone who hasn't been in the ring doesn't know shit about shit.
rovert Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 On somas and Cade in that interview he says he had major sleep problems for a year after quitting pills.
artDDP Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I found this on YouTube. After eighteen years in the business is this the one time Triple-H showed some actual charisma?
rovert Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I cant believe that Im asking this has anyone ever heard about Chyna and Brutus Beefcake once being an item?
sek69 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I found this on YouTube. After eighteen years in the business is this the one time Triple-H showed some actual charisma? One of the things that I always found funny was that as jealous of the Rock he is, Triple H could have been just as charismatic if he didn't spend so much time being Serious Angry Wrestler Guy. When his character allows for being funny he was good at it more often than not.
Loss Posted September 18, 2010 Author Report Posted September 18, 2010 Maybe cynicism has taken over, but all I could think watching that was that this was during the time period when Steve Austin could no longer wrestle and his GM role had run its course, so he was desperately trying to find a way to be useful and hang around, and HHH got to fill his normal spot of truth-telling heel and bury his gimmick.

You're probably right. Someone should do a comp of all the times HHH was able to bury someone in a promo and the person on the receiving end was not allowed anything more than "you're right".
Guest Slickster Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Off the top of my head: Booker T before Mania XIX John Cena before WrestleMania 22 That time he buried Chris Masters

MikeCampbell Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 I've been watching the WWE's Elimination Chamber DVD set, just finished the NWO 2008 Smackdown/ECW Chamber match. The thing that sticks out is how in every match the announcers try to give the hard sell to the plexiglass and how it's bulletproof and nothing can break it. Yet, in every match so far, it's wound up being broken. It's also been fun to watch the EC evolve from a glorified cage match into something with a life of it's own. Especially the NYR 2006 and the one from the ECW PPV.

I agree but I still found that funny <_> and I agree with Sek when Hunter wants to be he can be real funny
Strummer Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 I did feel kind of bad for Austin during that time though. The sheriff gimmick was actually his idea and he was excited about it and thought it would get over huge. I remember it being reported at the time that he thought it was such a good idea that he didn't want anyone beyond the creative team to know about it because it would be such a great suprise/reveal. Maybe the first sign that times had passed him by.

In 2010 he seems at peace doing movie roles and really happy for him as quite some time he was walking around like a lost sole.
