KrisZ
The thing is about all those points that get made all the time, WWE doesn't give away big matches on free TV much at all anymore.
Dan
Why is it that a pay-website that costs over $100 a year, still has tons of adverts? Though this one made me chuckle today:
Sean Liska
The thing is about all those points that get made all the time, WWE doesn't give away big matches on free TV much at all anymore. They still give away a lot. Two weeks after Wrestlemania, Edge and Jericho had a twenty minute TV match. Smackdown's Wrestlemania main event was given away on free TV, and no one even remembers it. Then we had a twenty minute Edge-Jericho-Swagger three way last week. On one hand, I love all the good wrestling WWE gives us, but why would I drop $50 to see Edge and Jericho at Extreme Rules? Orton and Swagger have already wrestled on TV, and now we're supposed to pay to see it again after Orton won the first meeting clean. CM Punk is one of the freshest heels they've had in ages, and his first match with Cena should have been a big deal. Instead they've already had two forgettable matches given away for free. Rey and Punk had an awesome TV match and then had a five-minute WM match. There's not much incentive to buy PPVs anymore outside of the Rumble, Chamber, and Mania season when you feel like you're paying for something important. KrisZ
Okay, Bryan saying that Urijah Faber is a better worker than Kerry Von Erich is fuckin hilarious.
khawk20
Okay, Bryan saying that Urijah Faber is a better worker than Kerry Von Erich is fuckin hilarious. Off-topic sorta, and if this were true I can imagine there is a thread for it already here, but anyone ever see those Bowflex commercials with a "Bryan Alvarez" as the main focal point? How this little guy worked out with the bowflex and got all muscular (and very cocky too, going by the commercial). Just curious. This guy looks like he's younger than Alvarez could be, but I don't know how old he actually is.
KrisZ
The Bowflex Bryan and the F4W Bryan look totally different in every way.

Sean Liska
From today's WO update posted by Bryan: -- I will be flying to Atlanta tomorrow to conduct the first-ever Wrestling Observer Shoot, which will be available on DVD both online and in major retailers around the country. Our first guest will be Abdullah the Butcher, and he's promised to talk openly about everything in his career and even things that happened before he got into wrestling. I'll also be touring his famous HOUSE OF RIBS and sampling some of the fare. The DVD will include other extras including never-before-seen matches from Abby's private collection. If you have any questions for Abdullah on any subject email them to me ASAP at [email protected] and we'll ask as many as we can. We'll have much more on this project in the next few months, and we've got several other guests lined up for future DVDs. I'm very excited about this project and want to thank The Cancer on our board for making it all possible. I'm a little nervous about Dave letting Bryan use the WO name for this. kjh
Would it hurt Bryan to thank the person responsible by their real name? Thanking "The Cancer on our board" makes the project sound so unprofessional. I also really hope Dave has brushed Bryan up on Abby's career history, otherwise this project won't reach its full potential.

Tim Evans
What is the deal with Dave and Bryan hating on Orton's babyface turn? Is this a Kofi Kingston 6 months ago "he's not over" type deal?
Guest Slickster
I get the impression they don't understand the turn. Orton never really had a face turn moment and he's still the exact same character he was as a heel (only now he does his classic pose). On paper it shouldn't get over and yet it has. MJH
I think it's more a combination of him not being as natural a babyface worker as a heel one, not (at least to them) seeming to be as happy to be working as a babyface, and not being a sympathetic seller (which of course is the key to being a strong face).
Cox
Actually, I think his in-ring has been pretty good as a babyface, he has a few signature spots that the crowd knows and pops for, and knows how to build towards those spots to get the maximum pop. The crowd always pops huge for the set-up moves to the RKO. I just don't see how anybody could ever cheer Randy Orton. I mean, look at that guy. He just looks like an asshole. I think that's why folks are burying his face turn more than anything, they don't see how anybody could actually like Orton, even if what he's doing is getting huge, albeit inexplicable, positive crowd reactions. sek69
If anything, they seem to be doing the Stone Cold push with him where he keeps doing the stuff he was doing as a heel but just doing it to other heels instead. That promo he did against Sheamus was kind of awkward though. Bringing up all the heel stuff he did to HHH as a way to get a face reaction was not the best idea they could have come up with. Slasher
Actually I might be alone but I'm actually enjoying Orton's babyface run currently. I know he doesn't look natural in being a babyface but the character is actually easy to cheer for. I mean, most babyfaces would refrain from being truly dastardly towards heels and even other babyfaces, but like Austin, Orton is willing to go to any measure to kick the heels' asses. Wouldn't the fans pop if Orton punted heel Punk or Jericho in the head?

KrisZ
Oh god, this is from today's WON As far as answers for TNA, that’s a completely different issue. It may very well be that with the proliferation of MMA as a pro wrestling alternative and drawing people who want something serious out of their pro wrestling, that takes away a group of fans. kjh
From today's news update by Dave, I found this amusing: --HBO got nine Emmys last night, including five for its hype specials for fights. Mayweather vs. Marquez 24/7 got Outstanding Edited Sports Special. Pacquiao vs. Cotto 24/7 got Outstanding Camera Work. Mayweather vs. Marquez got Outstanding Editing. Pacquiao vs. Hatton 24/7 won the Dick Schaap Writing Award. Frank Mir deserved an award for most outstanding performance in hyping a fight and the broken door at Brock's house also deserved some kind of award, for best the best timed door falling over.
