Marty
From Todd's RAW report: Edge then said he wasn’t planning to spear Orton but now he is glad he did. Edge said he did everything he was supposed to coming back from injury but wasn’t fully supported, while Orton doesn’t care about anyone but gets the fans’ support. Umm, you were more over as a face than Orton, buddy. Umm, what?!
evilclown
It's going to be hard for UFC to go any other network because of Dana wanting total control of every production aspect of the show when the networks want to have their own control as well. Meltz talked about this last night and it's totally true especially with ESPN who when you get in bed with them, your power in production gets usurped almost completely. I think the Spike deal has proved that they don't need to be on ESPN to do well. Don't know if Dave talked about this or if Jon has run into anything on it, but I wonder if a potential outsider in the bidding would be TNT/TBS. The just made a major move to get the NCAA Tourney, including eventually getting the Championship Game on cable (which will be a first among major sporting events). They went balls out to get MLB, including cutting the cord with their *own* team broadcasts. The NBA is a massive part of the network. They appear to be very much angling to be a major player in the sporting world... that NCAA thing isn't any lightweight deal. John I have never heard anyone mention the possibility of going to TNT/TBS. Maybe the sport still reaks too much of pro wrestling to be a good fit? I agree that they don't need ESPN and it may not even be a great fit. ESPN runs a ton of niche sports programming, but besides poker, I can't think of anything that they've taken to great heights. rovert
Well this is something. http://www.espnmediazone3.com/us/2010/05/e...n-espn2-in-may/ Europe had the pre show thing before, analysts in a skybox ignoring the prelims going on the below and shouting out each other with Baba O'Reily blaring in the arena, good times. kjh
From the file marked TNA wrestlers still don't seem to like having an openly bisexual wrestler in their midst, Dave and Bryan had this amusing exchange on their latest radio show: Dave: I could tell you some Orlando Jordan stories, *giggles*. Bryan: I don't know if we should tell these stories on the air. Dave: Oh, I've heard some Orlando Jordan stories in the last er week, *laughs*, Oh God. Bryan: Well we'll wrap this one up early then and I'll. Dave: *Laughs* Bryan: Anyway, Rob Terry... Dave butts in: I'm not trying to hide anything but it's just him hitting on various people. Bryan: Oh, lovely! Dave: Yeah, yeah.
Dan
On the new WOR Dave and Bry interview Chael Sonnen. In a funny moment Dave asked Chael if he watched pro wrestling promos and if it helped his fighting. Chael explained how one is fake and one is real. The answer sort of elicited a short but noticable pause from the duo.

kjh
"But I also don't get it, I'm like gees you haven't watched much wrestling then" - Chael Sonnen on the pro wrestling promo comparison to Dave "Watched more pro wrestling than possibly anyone in the history of the universe" Meltzer. Sean Liska
I really don't think Dave has watched more pro wrestling than, say, goodhelmet. I don't know what Goodhelmet's seen, but it's tough to imagine someone having the time to watch as much wrestling as Dave has in the last 40 years. Ditch
Dave hasn't really been watching a ton for the last, I dunno, 7 or so. Like, I really doubt he's ever seen a Dragon Gate show from Japan. Will's been going strong for a couple decades and has been super-efficient of late. Would be interesting to know.
Jingus
Do you suppose Lynch actually watches everything in his collection? If so, he's got even Will beat.
Tim Cooke
Schneider and Tom watch everything as well, to top it off - most of it is the full cards. I got shit from them for not watching undercard indy shows in 2003 before You Tube made it easy to just watch the top matches without paying through the roof. Ditch
I'd be shocked if Lynch watches even a 10th of new stuff that comes in. For one thing he's got kids now.
KrisZ
Meltzer has been watching since 1970 so he has 40 years.

I remember someone saying they E-mailed him for an opinion on a Japanese DG show and he had seen it. It's just tough to imagine. He was tape trading when no one else was. He watched the weekly TV of every territory for years and years. He was watching Lucha before almost anyone else. He watched the weekly AJPW and NJPW shows for 20 years. He watched Joshi. He watched every Nitro and Thunder ever. He watched every TNA PPV from Nashville and has seen every Impact. He's seen every ECW TV, every SMW TV, every RAW, every everything. KrisZ
Listening to the post UFC show from last night and these guys especially Coughlin saying that Josh Koscheck is the next Ric Flair and the greatest heel of all-time is fucking hilarious. Dan
The part where they had an elaborate conversation about tombstone piledrivers, tiger drivers and X-Factors, etc., in MMA, for a least a couple of minutes. That had me chuckling.
Tim Evans
I liked Bryan trying to make Koscheck into a modern day rudo by faking a low blow.
Johnny Sorrow
The 5/11 WO Show has Dave and Bryan saying that the both feel that the Maryse segment on RAW was a "Fuck You" at MMA. And that it was a lame "fuck you." Problem is, it was obviously a response video to the one shown earlier hyping new champ and Maryse's rival Eve doing all her "martial arts/ submission" training. Maryse is then shown training with a judo teacher, trying to learn a martial art to compete with her rival, and not being able to grasp it. The teacher tells her "We've been doing this all day, you should know this. Pay attention." And Maryse kicks him and slaps him and walks away disgusted. Yes, it's a "Fuck You" at MMA. Oy vey.
