KawadaSmile
Well, this fucking sucks. He was one of the coolest guys in wrestling, man. Effortlessly so.
PeteF3
I'm not sure anyone was ever as bred to be any specific job as Sid was to be a pro wrestler. The kind of which that doesn't really exist anymore--probably for the better, to be sure, but I can't think of anyone who's come along since who has that vibe of somebody who will kill you if you look at him wrong. There's a compelling appeal in that. Oh, and he was the one guy who even attempted to try to hold things together after the Shockmaster entrance. He deserves kudos just for that. NintendoLogic
It must be softball season in heaven because I can't imagine him going otherwise. He wasn't a great worker or even a particularly good one, but he still ruled. There will always be a place in pro wrestling for freakishly jacked-up dudes with charisma. He would have been perfect as a special attraction in the territory era.
The Thread Killer
Yeah this is sad news. He was always a guilty pleasure of mine, one of those guys who I probably shouldn’t have liked, but I did based on his charisma alone. I will never forget his entrance and performance at Survivor Series 96. I always liked the way that Paul Heyman used him in ECW as well, just had him come out and wreck guys. RIP

SirEdger
Regardless of what anyone could think about his wrestling skills, no one can sit here and say that Sid wasn't entertaining as hell. He just had a presence about himself. Also seemed to be a genuinely loveable guy as well with friends and family. It's nice to see the tributes for him; I even saw a tweet from his best friend PCO, talking about how an idea that Sid had for a character for him turned into how the French Canadian Frankenstein character that PCO now has. Thought it was really cool of him to do that.

Low key one of Shawn's biggest asshole moments was burying Sid as "the world's largest piece of luggage". At least in his tribute he said what big part Sid played in getting the "Heartbreak Kid" era over.
The Thread Killer
Back in early February 1992, I went to a house show at Maple Leaf Gardens that featured a super-rare heel vs. heel match between Sid and The Undertaker. This was before Taker turned babyface by rescuing Elizabeth from Jake Roberts. Actually, this match happened about a month before Taker’s face turn so I can only assume that they were kind of field testing it at a house show to see how he got over. I still remember that match, hardly a technical masterpiece, but it was a ton of fun seeing those two big heels facing off. I got to see Sid live a few times over the years, and I’m glad of it. SirEdger
I also got to see Sid live at a house show in 1997 at the old Colisée in Quebec City. His match vs Taker ended in a double countout and they brawled all the way through the crowd to backstage. He and Taker went right beside where we were seating. Sid was HUGE. Sweet Brown Koko
RIP Sid. I have 2 distinct Sid memories: 1) Sid eliminating Hulk Hogan FAIRLY in the Royal Rumble 92 match only for Hogan to throw a tantrum and eliminate Sid. I wanted Sid to powerbomb Hogan into oblivion after that! 2) Sid in the WrestleWar Wargames match audibly calling a spot with Rick Steiner with the camera RIGHT IN HIS FACE. Sid: Is he coming? Rick: Yeah. Sid: Is he on the top rope? Rick: Yeah. Sid: Let’s go! LOL! Sid did have that aura though. No denying that!
Sweet Brown Koko
In listening to the Voices of Wrestling podcast, they seemed to reference some PWO members who were upset that a writer called Sid the best bad wrestler. They meant it as a compliment but apparently it was taken as an insult.
G. Badger
I second being a Sid in ECW fan. I think him being in ECW is one of the reasons I started watching. Like, "oh shoot! Sid is in this sketchy company? Maybe I should check it out..." He had great look and had a real aura about him..especially when he looked gigantic compared to the roster. I can't remember if he had any full matches but him destroying people was great fun and excellent footage for the ECW commercials.
