MoS
Man, I really hope Toni does not lose. She has become such a ridiculously good promo and her gimmick is magnificent. I love Mercedes but a loss won't hurt her and I am not convinced she has surpassed Storm as the top woman of the promotion
sek69
It took Mercedes a long time to get rolling after her injury (understandable since apparently it was pretty gnarly), but she's closed the gap pretty quickly in this build. I would say Toni is still the clear ace of the women, and possibly all of AEW honestly, and knowing how TK books I would assume the whole belt collector gimmick Mercedes is doing is to set up her losing to Toni at the big show

Stiva
So MJF showed up in MLW to jump Mistico. Pretty wild but not really sure that AEW need to work with MLW of all places but sure, give me Cesar Duran as LFIs manager and I can live with it

And this. Really now, MLW is the last company you wanna be associated with unless you heart Matt Riddle matches announced by Austin Aries (yeah, yikes indeed, Court Bauer is one hell of a carny), but I'm guessing this was way more of a CMLL thingy (since CMLL and MLW work together too, for whatever reason, and really MLW's only watchable stuff are the CMLL guys). Mistico vs MJF at All In ? But yeah, the same. Give me Cesar Duran AND Salina de la Renta in AEW yesterday to be the Bobby Heenans of the luchadors. Gotta watch those three CMLL shows now. Damnit. I'm so glad the Bucks get a major match again. Bucks vs Omega/Hangman remains one of the best match ever in the history of the promotion. Also, they just passed 19K apparently. So, all in all (see what I did ?), should look pretty decent.
DMJ
I saw it posited either here or elsewhere but one cool idea that I saw would be MJF gets into the Gauntlet and gets eliminated by a "surprise entrant" that ends up being Mistico. I like Mistico as a surprise entrant more than Danielson or Darby, only because, I don't see why Danielson or Darby need to return in a gauntlet match when (a) Mox legitimately tried to murder Danielson with a plastic bag and (b) I feel like its been established that Darby is a wildman who can show up and just run-in and do something crazy, take on all comers with his skateboard, maybe ride his motorbike or whatever into the ring ala Sting or Stone Cold. Their returns shouldn't be treated like "Hey, we're back and we're coming for Mox and the Death Riders...but we're going to do it by earning title shots with victories in sanctioned wrestling matches!" They should be coming back giving zero fucks about rules or "fines" or suspensions (hell, Danielson is technically retired so, storyline-wise, he's not even subject to disciplinary action, right?), just attacking when they have the opportunity and trying to maim Wheeler Yuta specifically. Basically serving the Death Riders their own medicine by helping Hangman win the title and then running the Death Riders out of town (maybe big blow-off at Blood and Guts?). Stiva
It’s not how I’d do it but I presume that the main is going to be pretty overbooked as Darby returns to take out Claudio, Danielson takes out Yuta and it all builds to Swerve finally helping Hangman
El-P
Bandido vs Mascara Dorada for the ROH title at Arena Mexico FUCKED. Incredible main event. Bandido's road has been bumpy, but this is an amazing peak. On the same card Josh Alexander vs Atlantis Jr. was excellent too. Gotta love how Arena Mexico booed the living hell out of Atlantis Jr. It was so loud even the announcers mentioned it was a rudo crowd. Rudo crowd also in a way, as they totally cheered the awesome combination of Los Guerreros Laguneros & Los Infernales vs Don Callis Family. Super fun match, Kyle Fletcher looked to have the time of his life being a rudo in Arena Mexico. This CMLL/AEW/NJPW week is just the best stuff. Make it a yearly thing, please. If All In is as good as it’s shaping up to be, they’ll have had a 6 month all-timer run. Tonight’s show was about as perfect a show you could run in Arena Mexico. Like, AEW has to have earned itself a lifetime of annual shows in there now. Danielson showing up at the ROH tapings instead of on Dynamite is peak-Danielson but I presume he’s testing the waters for whatever he’s about to do at All In All of this. Really, as much as I have loved 2021, 2025 is peak AEW again, with a new sense of maturity (which makes sense, they are still relatively "new" at this, when you think of it). sek69
That opening segment was good shit, Hangman/Mox was going to be amazing anyway and Texas Death just allows all the craziness to go to 11.
sek69
Just noticed the belt design for the new unified International/Continental title looks a lot like the original design for the women's title.
MoS
All-timer opening segment. Hangman has reached truly elevated status, he is hotter than a firecracker. Good idea to go to the Texas Death Match stip too, since that is their most famous match, and since the match will be full of interferences anyway. sek69
Wild that we get Okada vs Ibushi as a Dynamite main event.
Jmare007
Yeah, closing the 300th episode of Dynamite with Ibushi vs Okada is the most AEW thing they could've done, it really encapsulates what the promotion is all about in the best way possible. So happy to see Kota back as functioning wrestler. He should get rid of most of his aerial arsenal and just focus on being a grumpy veteran beating the shit out of people, I'm all in for a run like that. strobogo
TK, I know you lurk here you fuck. Get the rights to My Sacrifice and air a Hanger Desire vid on the go home Dynamite.
El-P
Okada vs Ibushi certainly was on no one's bingo for Dynamite two weeks before All In. Hell, Ibushi coming back was on no one's bingo. And he looks *good* too. Healthy and with his confidence back it seems. Much better than he was the first few times he showed up. Hopefully he gets into his groove. And now we need the match that should never have happened but needs to : Ibushi vs Shibata in a UWF style match in 2025. The Hangman segment was one for the ages. I popped like a mark for the Texas Death Match challenge as I did not see it coming. Marina is so damn cool in her role. And the Deathriders angle, as much as it petered out at one point, is ending on a very high note. The Toni vs Mercedes build is ace too, and Mina vs Mercedes was one hell of a match (after a shaky start, they sure got it back). Ditto Young Bucks vs Swerve & Ospreay. (the tag titles however, well, enough said about the Hurt Syndicate already, Kevin Knight and Speedball deserves way better than this) With the two Casino Gauntlet which should be really fun, and 20K + in the end, All In looks like the banger filled W it deserves to be to cap off this awesome first half of 2025 for AEW. sek69
I don't get the hate for the Hurt Business. I mean, I do to some extent, but they are over with the crowd and Shelton is getting his long overdue respect from a major company. I get it they're ex WWE guys in their 40s and that is anathema to the very soul of AEW, but......it's kinda working though? I'm actually not happy with them putting MJF in the group and having him geek up the place. It was funny when he was begging to join and they kept clowning him, but now that he's in the group he's got Jericho at his vortex-worst go away heat with me. Stiva
Only real issue I have with HS is that it feels like they’re spinning wheels until whatever team is going to dethrone them comes along. Unless that’s why we’re getting a three way so they can drop the belts without being pinned and then move on to The Opps with MJF?

No. They barely have good matches. Hell, they barely have matches. Do they cut great promos ? No. MVP does, but does that go anywhere particulary compelling or building to great feuds and matches ? No. Do they get their opponents over ? HELL NO. Everyone working with them ends up looking like complete geeks (and that's including MVP usually burying their opponents on the mic too). Do they have entertaining segments ? Yeah, the MJF stuff was fun for a few weeks. I gave them the benefits of the doubts for a while. That joke is not funny anymore. The tag team titles are completely dead in the water. No feuds, no great matches (at least Private Party had two of those with the Bucks), nothing. And a bunch of babyface teams getting made look worse. Get the titles OFF them immediately, have them put people over and actually work. If not, I don't see what purpose they fill apart from having a theme song people can chant to. That make them 49 years old Trick Williams, and that's not something I want in AEW. El-P
I love the fact they are actually doing Lee Moriarty vs Blue Panther at the ROH show. Ya know Danielson is involved in some ways. Card is kind thrown together at the last moment, but Bandido vs Takeshita should be terrific. And really now, I know it is probably not very cost effective, but I would really love ROH to be taped in like the former Impact Zone as a studio wrestling show instead of during the TV tapings. Not many people is gonna be in the audience anyway, might as well make it look cool.
sek69
Since ROH is basically their NXT, they should tape it like NXT as well. Have them do their weekly show at like Daily's Place or some other smaller venue they can make their home base and have their big PLE type shows in the cities AEW is having theirs in. Have it look like a modern version of 2000s ROH, which shouldn't be difficult since Danielson probably wouldn't be able to resist showing up occasionally. It would give ROH its own look and feel and not just "we're at the same venue Dynamite was in but it looks sadder".
Alucard
I thought they had that going well when they ran the Esports stadium in Arlington TX last summer. Still taped some stuff with AEW shows but also ran two completely separate days of double tapings there and were able to tape tons of matches to air.
